Jane, I was exactly the same when our two were teenagers, particularly after they had learned to drive!!!! They both passed the test first time at 17 (so did I,!!! but I was 20) and after that the waiting for them to get home at night did get quite stressful! We gave son a Morris Minor for his 18th birthday and It was the love of his life for quite a few years, until it was superseded by a mini Cooper!! daughter, waited till she was 21 for THAT birthday and by that time she was working for Business Link and had a company car!! prior to that it had been my car that was commandeered for her transport!! The exhibition you went to Jane sounds really interesting. I used to go to things like that when I had friends/family in London, but it's not very really worth it on your own. O H would come, but fitting a day in London round Merlin and now Cassie would take.a bit of organization so I don't push it! and daughter is just too busy. I'm not sure that kaolin and morphine works that we'll these days Mel. It seems to me to have lost its umph compared to years ago! I think you need to get it from the Doctor for it to be strong enough! Bit like Dr Colllis Browne which is hardly effective at all any more!

That was a fairly quick labour .I think she only went in at 6 this morning. Congratulations to William and Kate <3.I am pleased that it is a baby girl :-D..Yes Alice could be one name Liz.That would be a lovely choice.I wonder how long we will have to wait ? So Cassie is all sorted with her new crate.Expensive having a little puppy isn't it :-D :-D
How sad about the little Robins Mel :-( :-(.You must have been so disappointed to see the empty nest.
So an injunction on the builder Ann !!!!.Bet he wasn't too happy about that lol
Fiona I went to our Asd* with Hannah earlier and ours was very quiet today. In fact everywhere seems quiet.maybe lots of people have gone away for the weekend. It's not so warm here either.I have just put a jumper on.it will probably come off soon when I do some ironing. Hannah has just made herself a lovely looking Omelette ,with Spinach and Goats Cheese. That is one thing I am not too good at making. My Omelettes always seem to be a bit wet in the middle :-S.I think it is just Buffet food tonight at the party so at least she will have had a decent meal now . Ann I never used to sleep properly when either of them were out at night.I would always have one ear open until I heard them come in.(that was mainly during the teen years ) Now I just sleep and hardly ever hear anyone come home :-D
Ann I think you would enjoy that exhibition. Its not huge and doesn't take that long to go round.A lot of the exhibits and info were from Mexico and France. Also things like slices of brain showing the track a bullet took and the bits of skull where the bullet entered and exited.I think it showed that the bullet had gone in from the side of the neck under the chin.I won't go into anymore details lol I don't know if there is much here but wellcomecollection.org/forensics
Gill there was a sweet little Border Terrier on the train last night opposite Chatty Girl.Poor thing didn't get a wink of sleep lol.None of us could concentrate on our books /mags The lady opposite me had earphones in and still couldn't concentrate on what she was looking at on her tablet and gave up in the end.
I think I might just this bit of ironing done now.

Oh still not right. I went to get kalin and morphine for him this morning and they recognised me as the same staff in the shop. I came home with more immodium which did'nt please him at all but he took two more and a hydration fluid thing.
It is also blimmin cold here today and I have just turned the heating on. I did ask someone else if he wanted it on and he said no but I am frozen so I turned it on.
Gill no I did'nt manage a pick of the little robin chicks as I left her to it once I knew they had hatched.

Afternoon all,
Well we have sun but it's still quite chilly out .
Yes it's lovely news about the new princess ,i wondered what the name will be .
Ann, i hoped you would read the email this morning before you went out ,i'am not sure if A*di have plants :-D we should be getting an A*di soon and a Mcdon*lds
It does feel strange today as hubby has gone to work ,if he works on a saturday he has a day off in the week ,he keeps trying to cut down on work but people keep ringing asking he'll do some jobs ,he does like to keep busy so while he can do it he keeps going .
Mel that's such a shame about the poor little Robins .
Washing machine has just finished so i'd better get them hung out and if they get dry quick i'll be able to get them all ironed and put away.

Afternoon All,
Well I wonder what name the royal baby will be given? A little sister for George. :-)
No more news on the close Gill. An injunction has been served on the builder now to stop him touching the neighbour's garden or tree. I don't know what happens next, but imagine the onus is on him now to try and prove ownership.
What a shame about the Robins Mel, hopefully she will build another nest in a safer spot now. Hope your OH is back to normal now.
We Went to Hal*ords this morning to get OH some rubber mats for his new car. It came with floor mats, but he's put the rubber ones on top as they will be easier to shake the mess off from the muddy feet of his footie friends!! Then we went to the bead sale and OH went for a mooch around the village while I went inside. I met a beading friend in there and she told me about a beading group she's started going to. It is on Monday mornings so I might give it a try. Then we had breakfast at a garden centre on the way back and OH has gone to a match with his pal now, its the 4th he's been to this week.
That exhibition you went to does sound interesting Jane. You do well coping with people coming in late at night, I can never get off to sleep if I know OH will be late.
It's chilly here this morning too Fiona.......I should have put my coat on this morning to go out but thought I would be warm enough. Grandchildren are so lucky these days having things like play sand at grandmas. It was cotton reels, a button tin and old fabric and knitting to play with at my grandmas.
Off to do more errands now......BBL

Morning all, evening Kim,
What a shame Mel. That is the unfortunate part of nature. Not much we can do about it BO HO. !!!
Lets hope your car is sorted now Jane. It could cause an accident if you braked and went across the road.
Carol down the road has just called to borrow a couple of folding for some event, I had to take them out to her car in my dressing gown. That breeze certainly is CHILLY. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Ros is just off to meet Martine for their Saturday Jaunt around Morriso#s.
I will walk to the pub today to watch the football, as Tony has an ART Exhibition in the Village Hall. I might have a look in on my way home.
I see Kate has gone into Hospital for her 2nd baby. Wishing her all the best <3 <3 <3

Morning all
Dull day here and quite cold too. Let's hope the warm weather returns soon.
You're up bright and early Jane. Do you think your car will finally be fixed, I bet you're getting fed up of it now.
I did laugh when you told us of that girl chatting on the train. How quiet it must of been when she got off :-D :-D :-D.
That's dangerous Ann your FIL standing on the step ladders on a table, he's lucky he didn't have an accident. It sounds like your MIL and FIL are set in their ways and no matter what you say they will keep doing things their way. It must be a worry though.
The DNA test sounds interesting, is it the one on Ancestry? How does that work, I've seen it on there and often wondered.
I recorded 24 hours in the past the other day so I'm going to watch it today, I think it's a series but will have to check. I watched a program like it last year and really enjoyed it so I'm hoping this is going to be just as good.
How's things going on the close Ann, anymore progress. I hope it's all sorted out soon and your neighbours keep their gardens. <3.
Sounds like Cassie is doing well with her training. How is she getting on with the gate indoors. Is she ok with it. Do you have anymore photo's of her Sandra and I would love to see them.
Sorry to hear the Robin's aren't there Mel, Sandra was asking after them, she'll be so disappointed. Did you manage to get a pic of them.
OH has just come in so we're going to watch 24 hours in the past now BBL <3

Morning /Evening All I'm still in bed having a nice big mug of tea.Hannah still asleep. We had a smashing day yesterday.I did enjoy the Forensic Exhibition. Some of it was very interesting. We ended the day at a really nice Tapas Restaurant and Bar in Kings Cross. The train was so full coming home.Everyone travelling for the B/H with all their cases. There is never enough space in those small luggage racks .A young girl opposite me talked NON STOP to her friend....Her voice was the only one you could hear. She got off the train at Wellingborough and you could almost hear the sigh of relief from the other passengers lol
Gill the photos were lovely thank you for sending them. That was some fancy hairstyle Michelle did for Sandra.I thought it looked very glam :-D The dress looked great on Sandra and I love the colour.
I haven't got around to reading yesterdays posts yet.I will have to catch up later as Hannah and I are going to pick my car up from the garage about 10 and then do a bit of shopping. Her good friend Sarah is moving to Spain next month and tonight is a big farewell party. So I think Hannah's job is to get the booze for making a Valencia Sangria..It sounds quite potent !!!.I am guessing there may be a few thick heads tomorrow morning. Just going to enjoy this tea before it goes cold .So I will be back sometime later this morning.

Signing out myself now, I've spent most of the day cleaning and shopping and catching up with all my washing and OH has cut the grass, so we're going to watch a bit of telly and have an early night.

I still like my yolks runny too Ann. Hate it if I cook myself boiled eggs and leave them a bit to long and only the very middle is runny. That happens sometimes when I do oh chilli and I have eggs.
You just arn't going to change MIL and FIL at this stage in their lives.
Nothing on the box tonight I want to watch. Not even got my gardeners world because of the snooker I think. Might see if there is a free film to watch on the vision box.
Signing out now so saying night night.

Evening All,
I see Jane has gone! I had it in my head she was going tomorrow as well....must be my age!
Lovely pics from Gill.......I see the girls have very long hair too. I meant to say our sk* box has worked perfectly since I gave all the cables a push, so thank you for mentioning it! ;-)
Mandy I think I shall check in our Ald* tomorrow in case they still have any of those geraniums..........at that price we could have a few more!
Well FIL was sent home at 11.00pm last night although his BP is still a bit high and they were told he should rest and to ring the hospital if he feels unwell. The trouble is with them doing everything together all their lives, he keeps getting up to see what MIL is doing all the time and to do things he needn't like fetch the post or look out of the window if he hears a car door slam. They don't seem capable of doing anything differently to what they've always done. We were amazed that MIL wasn't the slightest bit flustered and today they seem back to normal as if nothing happened.
OH had to wait ages to get out of the village car park this morning as an old lady he'd seen that was a bit unsteady had fallen and cut her head by the time he came back and the ambulance and paramedic vehicles were blocking the way of anyone moving their cars. He said it reminded him what could have happened with his dad in the street or crossing the road.
We actually enjoyed the new film of Far From The Madding Crowd after all although I preferred Terrence Stamp as Sergeant Troy in the old film. As OH said The Troy in this version was a bit insipid!! Mind you I thought that Matthias Schoenaerts that played Gabriel Oak was rather dishy!! He seems to be in quite a few films now. :-)
Good boy Frank for not eating the batter with the fish......you will feel all the better for it. That was a good point about the pond and Mel's OH........they say most poultry in this country can carry salmonella as well don't they. I must say I still like my egg yolks runny though.

Another busy day here!! Cassie's crate for the waggon was delivered today from' you know where'!! It's a shaped one made especially for a Freelander. It'll save us having to move her 'house one' every time we want to go out! Did my usual consignment of weeds this afternoon before we both took Cassie for a training session in our field!! She's now tired, and so are we!! Easy supper for us tonight cooked by OH!
