What's forced Rhubarb Mel? I don't know. I think it was my Dad who loved the stuff .I don't mind it as long as it isn't too tart.Chris loves it.
Well I don't think it has been very warm at all today with that brisk wind.I have bath mats on the line so am hoping they will be dry soon.I didn't hang them out until about 4.So they may need a blast in the drier .
It is the cinema again for us tomorrow and I am assuming lunch too :-D I hope so as I haven't planned anything to cook :-D.
I expect Sandra has been enjoying her day out today and looking forward to some nice food and music( I think that is what Gill said they were having this evening)
I have been looking again at places to see in Paris.I think there might be a couple of places that Chris wouldn't be that bothered about. So maybe if I am confident enough and know where I am going I could maybe do them on my own while Chris goes to something he wants to see .The problem with me is I have absolutely no sense of direction.NONE :-S :-S.I can get lost in a department store and not remember which door I went in.Chris despairs sometimes lol.Often when we are away and come out of somewhere I start marching off totally the wrong way,but convinced it is the right way. He says I shouldn't be let loose LOL...Mind you he might be quite pleased to lose me for a while.
The sun is shining on Janice and Larry and so far we haven't spotted any bunnies today :-D..well not when we have been looking .

WELCOME COVLASS
I would have been FORCED to eat it like that :-D :-D :-D
Yes Jane Sunday morning sitting on the garden seat under the rose bushes, podding the peas, ready for Sunday lunch. I had the job of scraping the new potato's also. There were so many with SEVEN OF US and even worse if Clara and Tom cam to dinner. Dad would go to the allotments and get the greens, which went into a bowl of cold water for a wash.
I always remember my Mum sending me down the garden for the MINT and telling me to wash it. I asked her "WHAT WITH SOAP" A smack across the ear, soon made me realise it was under cold water.
While we are down memory lane. Yesterday I sat down the bottom of the garden under the apple tree. (it's just coming into blossom) and started to sing "I'LL BE WITH YOU IN APPLE BLOSSOM TIME" The new neighbour at the bottom of the garden called over. "THE OLD UNS ARE THE BEST" I( mentioned it down the pub last night and the lads said "NEVER HEARD OF IT" These youngsters !!!
Been a bright sort of day so far, but I have been cold. I have my Joggers on, T shirt and a light jumper. That wind has a real bite to it.
Tenderloin of pork tonight, It's marinating in Soy Sauce at the moment. I will do seasoned Potato wedges, Onion Rings, with Mushroom and Onion cream sauce.
I have had that horrible fainting feeling today, together with a cough. I think it might be HAY FEVER. I have been taking tablets that Ros got for me, so I think I will knock those off, and see how I feel then.
I had various silly dreams last night. One was I had this big square box, I had to blow into the corner and as the box got bitter it turned into a room of furniture. Now where did that come from.???
How's things in the Close Ann, all quiet on the "Western Front" or are the battle lines drawn ???
Wisteria is just coming into bloom on the garage roof, will get a photo when it's out a bit more.
Hop[e Sandra has had an enjoyable day, and lots of cards and presents. <3 <3 <3

Hi Covlass welcome..Oh I had forgotten all about dipping the Rhubarb in sugar..it is making the inside of my cheeks go all funny now just at the thought :-D :-D
Yes picking the veg with my Dad .I think the peas were my favourite for picking only because they were so nice to eat straight from the pod. Then sitting on the stone steps outside the kitchen door shelling them all....Happy days :-D

Picking fresh rhubarb in the garden and dipping it in sugar, my dad getting me to go in between the bamboo canes to pick the beans he couldn't reach. Front doors being left unlocked in the day time, knowing it was time to go home when the street lights came on.

"H A P P Y B I R T H D A Y S A N D R A " Hope you have a lovely day.
Morning all, Evening Kim,
Bright sunny morning here, but a very strong breeze, which I imagine is cold. Not poked my head out yet. Bit of cloud building in the west so we might get a drop of rain.
Carolyn has been on SKYPE this morning from Tenerife, The weather there is a bit iffy. Warm then comes over cloudy, and cools down.
It appears her "DUCK" is doing the rounds. Three people Ros has spoken too are feeding it !!! So he/she isn't going hungry. :-D :-D :-D :-D
The Dyso# battery vacuum is playing up, so I had better have a look at it.
Glad you are feeling a little better this morning Mel.

We're off shopping now, the sun has come out but it's still very cold, not sure if we'll get any snow but Sandra's happy anyway.
I'll pop back on later Hope everyone's ok today Bye

Morning all
I thought I'd nip on here while everyone was still asleep. I'm surprised Sandra slept last night, unless she couldn't drop off and that's why she wasn't up at the crack of dawn :-D :-D.
I had an early night last night, I was so tired. We ended up going around our local shops yesterday as Michelle wanted some curtains for her flat. She got some lovely cream lined ones for her living room and some duck egg blue ones for her bedroom, she just needs to buy the tracks and get her friend to put them up, as the windows are very high and she can't reach to do it herself, not even if she stood on a chair.
I've put a load of washing on at 7am so that should be done by the time everyone wakes up, It's just started to hail stone here so we might get some snow after all.
I think Sandra wanted the weather to be nice while we were out today, so I'm not sure how she'll feel when she see's it cold and wet. Never mind we'll still have a good time shopping and then we're having drinks and music later with her favourite food.... Pizza and choc cake. I'm going to make some sausage rolls and garlic bread to go with it. It's not my type of meal but Sandra loves it, which is what counts. :-D :-D.
So nothing's been sorted yet Ann on the close. Fancy the builder crashing into the fence, I bed he felt and right fool. When will your neighbours hear what's happening. It must be a worry for them. Surely the boundary line will be marked at the land registry, so why can't everyone just look at that and save all this upset. Or would that be to easy for the builders to do. :-S :-S :-S.
Sorry to hear you're not feeling very well Mel, I hope you're not getting the bug I had. Rest up and keep warm. Drink plenty if you have got a bladder problem it will help. <3.
£296 for 5 panes of glass is brilliant Ann. I paid £280 for one, although it was very big, but still, the price you've been given sounds like a bargain to me and no more squeaky car for your OH soon I bet he can't wait.
Have you checked your Scart lead on your sky Ann, I find our picture goes funny if I've knocked the lead when I'm polishing, you just need to push it back in at the box and the TV, that normally sorts the problem out.
I recorded Poldark so will look forward to watching them all in one go when I have a day to myself. We're out at my mum's again tomorrow and of course today is sorted then Michelle goes home on Thursday afternoon, so it'll probably be Friday.
I love the scarecrows Jane.......very colourful :-D :-D. So you're still getting weird dreams then. I will route my book out when Michelle has gone home then I can tell you what it says about them if you like.
Sounds like my washing machine has finished so I'd better go and pop the washing in the dryer. The weather's to bad to put it on the line today. BBL <3

I'm not excited !!!
How are you all, sorry to see you are not well Mel, keep taking the tablets :-D :-D
Ann, I can just see the face of the builder after knocking down the fence, WHAT A PLONKER as Del Boy would say. ;-) ;-)
Had a nice plate of Liver and Onions tonight with mash and peas. It seems ages since we had that.
I can see you are going to have a bad night tonight Gill. I bet Sandra is excited about her birthday tomorrow. Hope she has a lovely day.
Just as I was going down the pub tonight, it started to rain, by the time we arrived TWO MINUTES it had stopped. So not done any good.
Jane I haven't looked at the Scarecrows yet. But from what's been said you are the best <3 <3 <3 <3
Going to sit with a bit of tele now, so see you tomorrow. GOOD NIGHT ALL.

Gawd Jane............you'll look down the garden at night and think someone is nicking the veg!! Are you sure Chris hasn't got them for target practice?
Yes, Sundays won't be the same for me without Poldark either!
Something's up with the s*y box in the bedroom. :-S The things I record keep breaking up when you watch them so that's another thing to sort out. :-S
We've decided we'll get our misted double glazing panes replaced as we were recommended a chap by someone up the close who was doing theirs last week. We thought we had about 5 that want doing, but no, it looks like 9 including a big door pane!! :-S Apparently our conservatory ones with curved decorative bits are now obsolete but he can make them and put the curved bits in the new ones. The good news is that he only charged £296 for 5 panes including 2 big conservatory ones. I thought that sounded quite reasonable.
OH's car only has to squeak 2 more days now as his new one should arrive Thursday. :-D I think he will be relieved to get it now with everything starting to 'go' on his old one.

Evening all ,
Been a bit on the chilly side here today ,we have seen the sun at times and there was a sharp frost first thing .
Mel, i hope your soon feeling better it's not like you to take to your bed so you must feel poorly <3
Lovely photo's Ann ,it looks a nice place to visit though as you say not with children . Well i bet that builder felt a fool knocking the fence down , that could stir the neighbour up even more !! I still don't understand how he thinks he can just take part of their land like that .
Well Sandra must be getting so excited now, i bet she thinks tomorrow will never come , i expect she will be awake nice and early all ready to open her presents and cards . I bet she was a happy bunny getting a present from Nan and getting to open it a day early :-D
The scarecrows look good Jane ,it's just the one in the middle ,reminds me of someone !! ;-) ;-) :-D Mine came out sideways too :-D
