Just made some sausage rolls. They're in the oven now.

Not been in the garden as it's a bit breezy out there.

Gill sounds like you have had a really lovely day with your family and lifts there and back too. What a kind person.

Little Cassie is certainly learning fast Liz. what a little treasure you have yourselves there. We do need to see lots of pics as she grows up you know??

I can smell them now...................the sausage rolls...................might have to give them a taste test when they come out of the oven. ;-) ;-)

Liz it was quite scary.I had 3 trips to A&E with James over the 2 weeks :-0..Thankfully no brain damage.WELL ... SO WE SAY LOL
I love scrambled eggs and bacon..I do like the bacon chopped up and mixed in with the egg and some herbs :-D

Gill ,sounds like a good day with the family and being able to sit out too.I bet you had a good old natter and catch up :-D
I am just cooking a joint of Beef now for tomorrow .The oven is pinging so it must be done :-D

That sounds as if it was a really nasty accident Jane so I can understand your trepidation with ladders!! OH has done a lot of planting out this afternoon, spinach, spuds and carrots! so he's made a good start!! I did a lot of weeding(!!) outside our back door. The ground in this bit of the garden is clay and really difficult to dig,so it is being a job and a half to do! We then sat in the very windy garden and played with Cassie. (OH did a bit of training!!!) We're now having a cuppa and Cassie is asleep in her crate! Scrambled eggs and bacon for supper tonight, so nice and easy! Tomorrow we're having Duck legs at lunch time as son and his partner are coming for the afternoon, so it looks like a busy day!

Hi all

Just got in from mum's had a lovely time with everyone and met my sister's neighbour who is a hoot, he's so easy to talk to it's like we've known him for years. He offered to bring my sister over here to save her having to get the bus which was nice of him. He also picked Sandra and I up on route and brought us back again.
The weather here is wonderful and we ended up sitting in the garden.

I didn't realise the F1 qualifying was on now so I'm off to watch it.

Afternoon All

Where did this wind come from!!!.I have got itchy eyes :-S.Must be all the pollen blowing around.it is so nice with the sun but if the wind would just drop a bit it would be even better :-D.No chance of reading a paper outside lol

Frank you have been a good boy doing all that ironing..Does Ros redo her tops if you have not done them right :-D :-D.Some tops (Ladies) can be very awkward to iron.I have some like that and it can a real pain.

Oh Dear Cassie .Liz she is so good isn't she.She sounds just the perfect pet <3
I hadn't realised it was ANZAC Day.

Mel if you ate all the pie yesterday what are you having today? :-D :-D.I made our dinner for tonight yesterday. It is just a Mince and Sweet Potato stew thing, and I will do Spring Greens with it.
James and Jess will be cooking for themselves !!!!!.I said to James I hope we aren't going to get smoked out again.....He said he is cooking :-D :-D

I hope Gill is having a lovely day with her Sister and all the family. It is nice when you can get everyone together once in a while.
It would be just great if the lady who came to view put in an offer, especially knowing that her grass can be cut for her :-D

James and Chris had the big ladder out this morning to get down the big branch that broke in the wind the other day....I was so relieved to see James up the ladder and not Chris as it was really high.I have probably said this before but when James was 4 and we were still in our old house on Rockingham rd(Next door to Satra) Frank will know, Chris got the ladder out to cut something or other on the Brick wall between our house and Satra. Unbeknown to Chris James had climbed up the ladder too and they both ended up falling over the wall in the grounds of Satra. They went through the cycle shed roof !!!!..It was a Sunday so there was nobody around.Somehow Chris managed to get them both back up and over the wall(I have no idea to this day how he did it) don't think he does either.I got home from shopping with Hannah to find Chris lying on the settee looking totally weird and poor James was lying on the floor. Not quite with it.
So it was a trip to A&E.Chris was ok but had injured his ankle and was in a bit of shock .Poor little James had Concussion. He was off school for 2 weeks !!!!!!..So since then when ever a big ladder comes out it puts me on edge...Not surprising really LOL

All peaceful in the Close Ann? ;-)....I like the No Trespassing Sign :-D :-D

I better put my food shopping away and get the rest of the washing out on the line .There are towels out there now so I am hoping they might be dry.

magpie Report 18 Apr 2015 11:56

Yes Frank, It is ANZAC day, and I think we should all pause for a moment in our busy day to remember those brave young men of long ago, and he sacrifices they made.
I think you sound like a brilliant husband Frank, and that Ros is lucky to have you. OH is pretty good on the domestic front, and will always help if I ask him. However, preempting jobs isn't his strong point!! so unless I ask him to do a job when I'm out, he simply doesn't notice, and always says 'why didn't you ask?'! He has gone shopping this morning though with a VERY detailed list!!
Cassie progresses, she now sleeps right through till 7, and goes straight back to her bed after a wee, while we have our EMT! We get up then anyway, and the day starts!
OH is back with a load of shopping, so better go and help unload and put away!

Frank

Frank Report 18 Apr 2015 11:51

Well I am all done. I have ironed a pair of sheets. pillow cases, five tea towels , hankies, Ros's tops (bet they are wrong) pressed a pair of trousers, four shirts, three T shirts. Napkins from last Sundays lunch. Just one of Ros's tops left. I don't know where to start on it. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Now for a nice shower and wash my hair. Will shave today also. THEN I might go and check on the beer quality. I feel quite pleased with myself, for what I have got done.

Those pesky birds have been at the pots again, the soil from the pots is all over the conservatory steps. Another clean up job. :-D :-D

Enjoy the rest of your day girls and JANE stay away from the WINE <3 <3 <3

Morning all, Evening Kim,

Yes a nice morning here also, cold easterly breeze.

Our Camellias are blooming beautiful also. The big Cherry tree is about to burst into blossom. I will take a photo once it's opened.

Here I am stripped off with just shorts and slippers on, ready to get the ironing board out and tackle the BIG basket of ironing. I BET you I will get my ears boxed when she sees it all done. She likes to do it her way !!!!

Nice to see you again EOS. likewise have a good weekend.

It's ANZAC day today. Lots of thoughts to all those lads. THANKS

Gillx Report 18 Apr 2015 08:00

Morning All

Lovely sunny morning here today, but a bit cold, hopefully it'll warm up later.

I'm off to my mum's today with Sandra to meet up with my sister and her family for her birthday celebration. It was her birthday yesterday but she was in work. It'll be nice to catch up with everyone again. My sister's son and his family live in Wales and he works full time so we don't get a chance to meet up very often.

Nice to hear from you again Elizabeth, hope you have a nice weekend too.

I've had a terrible nights sleep last night it took me ages to drop off then I was awake early so decided to get up and have a cuppa. OH's in work today and Sandra's still asleep so I thought I'd pop on here before I have to go out.

I've just been looking in the garden. Our camellias are doing well this year too. and I have lots of winter Primula's in various colours all over the place it looks quite pretty out there at the moment especially with all the blossom coming out on the fruit trees. We have a very large apple tree at the bottom of the garden and that's showing signs of spring, it won't be long before the blossom comes on that too.

That's the one thing I'm going to miss when we move, the garden. I've always had quite large gardens but most of them around here are quite small, especially in the next village, which is where we are hoping to move to. Never mind I'm sure OH and I will make it look good no matter what the size. So long as I have a bigger kitchen I'll be happy, mine is quite small which I don't like at all.

Sandra's looking forward to having a bigger bedroom, her sister had the big room and since she's moved out Sandra doesn't want to move into it. I thinks she still thinks of it as being her sister's room. So it'll be nice for her to have a big room and have it the way she want it. I do all the wall papering so if she picks something she likes I'll be putting it up for her.

It was very quiet on here yesterday, looks like everyone was busy. I'll pop back later when I get home. See what everyone's been up to. Enjoy your day everyone hope the weather's nice where you are.

Evening all

I think I sent the message to the wrong person before Ann sorry. I hope your OH's car last until he get's his new one. Yes I should imagine it wouldn't go down to well if you said to him not to go to the footie. Not long to the 30th so hopefully it'll last for him.
Glad to hear the dispute doesn't effect your property.

Yes it was nice to finally get some feedback off the Agent I don't normally hear anything so I'm left wondering what's going on and have to work it out for myself after a while that they weren't interested. We've had a lot of other Agents wanting us to go with them so if things don't improve soon we might change Agents.

Another F1 race this weekend, I'm watching one of the practise sessions I recorded earlier with OH. Looks like Bahrain is going to go into the night like Singapore. I quite like the night races.

How lovely Jane, a Greater Spotted Woodpecker did you manage to get a pic.

I'll see if I can get those channels Frank I don't have a full package with them, so don't get all the channels but I think, from what you've said Sandra would love to watch the wildlife programs. I'll check it out when the practise session has finished.

Well, I'd better get back to it

I made a big meat pie today with just a top crust. There was nearly enough for two days but it was soooooooooo good we ate the lot.

Gill thats was good you had a bit of feedback on the viewing.

Moved a few pots out of my shed today but apart from that I hav'nt done much else except wash up all the cooking things. You never know just how many things you get out whilst cooking till you have to wash them all up!! :-|

Oh treated both our ponds today with that Cloverleaf stuff to clear the blanket weed.

Annx Report 17 Apr 2015 21:19

Evening All,

Sounds promising on your bungalow Gill. Lets hope she's back for a second viewing. Yes, just now the dispute only affects the 2 whose gardens he may pinch to get a wide enough opening at the end of the close. One of the neighbours has said he's chopping 2 of the tall christmas trees down at the end of the close next week. The neighbour whose front garden is in dispute has put a 'no trespassing' sign up in his front garden now. The council are still considering the builder's appeal about the first plans he sent in to build a house as well as the 2 bungalows so it may be worse yet if that succeeds and will also mean he will be required to strengthen the private road. That may well affect us if he starts widening the road by stealth as his plans show it being a bit wider than it is. Happy days heh? :-S

Jane, there isn't much curtain twitching with nearly all the bungalows having lounges at the back!! OH heard them because he was in the bedroom and a window was open! lol. That was quite a (liquid) lunch you had yesterday and another very nice (less liquid) lunch today. It's a pity it wasn't a bit warmer for seeing the boats there.

OH now has a date for his car coming and it won't be till the 30th of April in the morning! Hopefully he'll nurse his old car along till then. He could always stop going to footie matches for a while couldn't he? I can just imagine the look on his face if I suggest that!! lol.

Our Camelias are flowering really well this year Mel, so I can just imagine your carpet of petals at Prickly Hollow. :-) Yes I remember your very long and lovely borders with all the flowers!

Frank, Ros dodn't nudge that picture did she? ;-) It must have been quite a shock to have that land on your head. Sounds like you will have a bruise from that. You will get BROWNIE POINTS for doing the ironing :-D

We did something quite different in class today.......making a tube of beading wrapped around some plastic mesh tube! It took us all a while to fathom it out and none of us got much done!! Tomorrow I'm up early to go with a friend to the fused glass course at the college just up the road. I'm looking forward to it.

Well I have managed an hour of soaps, but now E E is on that's my limit. Most of the "ACTORS" ???? shouldn't be in it. That Carter family are the pits !!!

Train journey across Africa on at 9.00 so will watch that.

Had a great TWO HOURS of NAT GEO WILD this afternoon. Wild Thailand. It was great to see the wildlife that exists in these Country's. Gill, Sandra would love these programmes. If you have SK# they are on 528 also Eden I think that's on 534.

It has turned cooler this evening with that North Easterly wind. It's looks like being cold on the coast tomorrow, so I don't think you should be venturing out Mandy. No F & C at Wells, and you can live without the CRABS :-D :-D :-D the swimming type ;-) ;-) ;-)

I haven't been out all day, just resting. My left knee is giving me JIP tonight. I can see before long I will have to go back and see the Surgeon about having that bone shaved. :-( :-( :-( :-| :-| :-| Ros keeps telling me to do something about it, but I am a MAN scared to have the operation.

Time for a beer, the T.V. and BED.

See you in the morning.

The Greater Spotted Woodpecker has just been on the window feeder :-D

Hi all

Lovely weather here today so I've spent the whole day in the garden it now looks lovely and tidy.

Sorry to hear you've had a fall Frank. I don't know, you're not safe to be left alone. Hope you are ok and then the picture falling on you, what's the 3rd thing going to be.

So you were a bit tipsy Jane. Nice to have a few nibbles and drinks with friends though.

Glad to hear Cassie's doing well and has settled, that was quick, you certainly know what you're doing and what a good little puppy to respond so well. You'll be teaching her tricks next. Bless her. Did you see Britain's Got Talent and the talking dog, maybe you could teach Cassie to do that lol. Hope everything went well at the dentist.

Hope the pictures of the Robin's nest turn out ok Mel, Sandra would love to see them. Our Rosie came by today for her nuts. Sandra gets a bit worried if Rosie doesn't show at our for a few days but then gets so excited when she does. We've not seen the other tame squirrel again yet though.

So you're all posh now Mandy with your new table and chairs you'll have to invite everyone around to christen it. Hope your OH's car last till he get's his new one.

Best to keep our of any neighbourly disputes Ann, you don't want to end up in the middle. Is it going to effect your property.

It's my sister's birthday today and there is a bunch of us going around to mum's tomorrow to celebrate it. My sister couldn't make it over today as she had to work so her son, daughter-in-law and two grandchildren plus mum Sandra and I are going to celebrate together, so long as our mum doesn't do anything, they'll be plenty of us there to muck in with food and the like.

The viewing went well yesterday and I got some feed back today saying that she's looking at a few more bungalows next week and then she'll get back to us if she wants a second viewing. She did tell me when she was here that I've got a lovely place and she liked the garden as she has dogs.

Her only concern, because our garden is around 80 foot long and about 50 foot wide, was how she was going to cut the grass. My OH does gardening for a property developer so I told her he could cut the grass as we've decided to stay living local because of OH job. So hopefully if that was her only concern then she might want a second viewing. Fingers crossed

Evening all,
It hasn't been a bad day weather wise ,little bit of sun now and then ,i did take my cuppa out this afternoon but it was a little too chilly to sit out and drink it so i came back in .

Not a lot happening here today ,i did a few jobs ,walked to town and went to the bank ,bought some fruit and veg on the market and that's about it .

Oh dear Frank things are going bump in the night !! :-S :-D now what made that fall down :-0 ;-) ;-)
It could have given you a nasty crack on the head if you had caught the corner of the picture on your head !!

How is the Robins nest today Mel ?

That sounds a nice meal Jane ,did you manage to sit out or was it chilly were you where too?
I hope poor bunny gets buried today ,or it might be getting a little whiffy !! :-(

Crumbs what a quiet day here.Everyone busy?
We has a nice lunch .Not terribly exciting menu but it was all tasty.I had Tomato and Basil soup to start and then Beer battered Fish and chips. The batter wasn't the best as it wasn't really crispy.Chris has Haddock and Chorizo fishcakes and then a really nice big burger with something in.So nothing else to eat tonight.maybe some fruit later.

I don't know how old the bottles were in Jakes garden .The house is in Regent St Frank you know the terraced ones.I imagine they might have been built in the 1800's.

I think I will get the last few things ironed as I am not cooking, then that will be another job out of the way.

Hope OH's car hangs on for him Ann.Next week won't come quick enough by the sound of it lol

Drinking it or smoking it ??? While you are on a high, stay with it. I give you a bump on the head, JUST WATCH IT YOU :-D :-D :-D

I bet it wasn't warm enough to sit out, it's been quiet chilly here today. Would that Pub/restaurant be anywhere near Foxton Locks. I use to take my children there in the 60/70s I can't remember how many locks there are, but quite a few.

Shin of beef tonight in a nice gravy, with cabbage, Brussels, carrots, runners, and Mash. That will fill a hole.

All washing dries and ready for ironing. I might ONLY MIGHT give her a surprise while she is out with Martine tomorrow morning, and do the flat things, and my shirts.

Looks like being a nice evening weather wise.
