Afterno9on all.
What a beautiful day, and very warm. I took a chance and put my shorts on.
I have trimmed the lawn edges, washed and filled Rs's Tomato pots, and four little planters on the shed, ready for planting out (she has enough plants I HOPE) !!! Moved all the Potato bags, cut up the old ARCH and that's in the black bin. Watered and fed the greenhouse, and fed my VEG patch.
The neighbour down the side of us has loads of IVY that is pushing through our fence, I have pulled out as much as I can, then treated it with ROUNDU# so hope that kills it off. I have ask him before to do something about it, but it's like talking to yourself !!! If that doesn't work I will have to find something stronger,.
I have cleaned and replaced to waterfall on the pond. Nearly had an "EARLY BATH" but managed to grab the roof of the shed :-( :-( :-(
Madam is home now. Carolyn goes of to Tenerife next week for THREE WEEKS. Then Ros will meet them at Luton on their return as their usual chap is away. It will mean a late night as their plane doesn't land till after midnight.
Lamb is in the oven and smelling good. I have stuck garlic and rosemary in the flesh. B & B pudding made and ready to go in the oven when I dish up dinner about 6.30 pm,
See you all later tonight.

Afternoon All
Lovely to hear from you again William :-D..Sounds like you have had a great Easter with all the family.I hope you find someone to give you a hand with the garden.I should think it will be quite easy to get somebody close by.You love you garden so as you say it would be a shame to have to 'let some of it go'.
So was it Shorts or Joggers then Frank ?I have actually felt quite cold today, which seems daft as it has been so nice.I have spent the afternoon trying to sort more photos. What job it is :-S.I have so many that really need to be binned but I do hate throwing photos out.I need to be tougher.I know they won't be missed.
Fiona I hope your new cream does the trick for your hand.I bet this will be the right stuff :-D Mel your hand sounds so sore.Hopefully the honey will work .I wouldn't leave it too long though as you need it healed before you start all your work in the garden.
I have a poorly toe :-(.I got up to go to the loo in the night and opened the door right onto it.My toe got jammed and when I pull it out it ripped the skin from around the nail :-..It is a lovely Blue now S. :-S :-S.I had to come down and get a plaster as it was bleeding. No shoes on for me today.Just my open sandals.Good job it has been a nice dry day otherwise I would have looked a bit daft when I went to the Post Office..I just remembered to post my Sisters Birthday Present for her birthday on Thursday.I think she will be 56.Just a young one :-D
Which way do I turn the numbers in my fridge to make it less cold Higher or Lower. It is too cold and set on number 3.My tomatoes were almost frozen :-S

Ready glad your hand's feeling better Mel. I used to use an ointment called Lion Ointment, which always seemed to be a miracle healer, (you can't get it now!) It transpired that this ointment contained beeswax, hence the healing!!! Only downside is the stickyness!! Beautiful day here and we're not doing too much!

Morning all and evening Kim,
Nice to hear from you William and know you had a nice Easter.
I had a little message from Elizabeth today hoping I had a nice Easter . Thank you Elizabeth and yes we had a quiet one but it was nice.
Frank I'm glad you moved your coconuts!!!!!!! The ones filled for the birds I mean ;-) ;-)
You asked where oh had been in his breeks, he had only been over the fields out the back of us for a walk. This was way before they planted the tree over there.
Fiona I am thinking of going to the docs with my hand too. It is not quite so bad but it keeps skinning and then it is sore. I did put a little Manuka honey on it a couple of days with a piece of kitchen paper taped round it when it was really sore and the skin was a bit broken and it has seemed better since then. Liz suggested that and I had forgotten about honey being a good healer.
I put my camera out last night down by the ark in what we call the back garden. I still hav'nt looked through all the pics and videos it took as it took 300 because the harvest mice seem to have moved in and they are on most of the pics and videos with their goggly eyes shining out. They move so fast you only get a bit here and there fo them.
Well I must get Henry out as I have spied some cobwebs on the Christmas lights on the ceiling which we never take down!!!!!! :-| :-| :-|

Morning All Evening Kim
IT'S TUESDAY TODAY !!!!
Hi Will, Nice to see you around, I take your point about the boarders. I can't get down to them either.
Mel. You are a little devil day dreaming about the men's costumes of days gone by. !! What was your OH doing, going shooting dressed like that ???
Another beautiful morning here, a chill in the air, but I am sure that will go as the morning progresses.
Not sure whether to put joggers on or try my SHORTS. I will be down the bottom of the garden so no one will see me.
Roast lamb, new potato's mint sauce, Brussels, Runners, Peas, Carrot, and Swede. for tonight. I didn't get round to making B & B pudding yesterday, so will do that today. (give her a treat) :-D :-D :-D :-D
Have moved the coconuts Mel. The starlings are now cueing in the Cherry tree to get a turn on it. It wasn't meant for them, but they are enjoying it !!! <3 <3
Madam is just waiting for Carolyn to pick her up. So "HOME ALONE" today.

Morning All, Evening Kim
Hello to Will, sounds like you have had a nice Easter etc , you both deserve a rest.
MEL, How is your itchy hand, I went to see the doctor this morning about my hand still troubling me, he prescribed Hydrocortisone again but this time it has a fungal cream added to it, hope it works.
we had a lovely Easter. grandkids had a good time finding eggs on a Easter egg hunt in the back garden as the weather was lovely the past 2 days, but it is cloudy today, still I'm keeping fingers crossed it doesn't rain as I have washing on the line.
We have to make a trip into town to put in my prescription, and OH has to go to the bank.
just have time to have a coffee .

Good morning everybody, SURPRISE, SURPRISE!!!
Bet you all thought I'd disappeared for good, well, not so - here I am at last without any doom and gloom this time.
Hope you all had a lovely Easter. We did, much better than anticipated. Firstly, Carmel sister was over from Ireland with her partner so on Sunday we were at daughter Dorothy's house for a family meal together, well, most of the family anyway. Then yesterday, we went to granddaughter Siobhan's place out at Measham where it was a Birthday Lunch for great granddaughter Maggie's birthday (the previous day). That was more or less an extension from the previous day for some of us. I got to have both Ralph and Maggie on my lap for ages where we had loads of fun and laughs, and I really treasured it as we don't see so much of them since they moved out there. Being out over most of the preceding days, we are going to have a 'at home' day today and get some rest.
I expect that was all a bit garbled but I guess I'm out of practice on here. Waiting for Carmel to wake up so I can get her a nice cuppa and a biccy. So enjoyed the sunshine yesterday and if we get the same today I might even get to give the lawn it's first cut. I'm going to try and sort out someone to give me a hand with the garden as my arthritis is getting worse ,especially in my right wrist. Pots and planters I'll be able to manage alright and the lawn, but borders and some maintenance I really need help with if it's not to all go to pot!
I'll end there and look back in later when I can catch up on the later posts. Have missed you all although some I have been able to catch up with on Facebook and emails.
Have a lovely day.

Oooooo yes Ann and the breeches and long boots. When I first met oh I could visualize him in those clothes, a nice green long coat with beige breeches and black boots, o and a waistcoat but never in a tricorn hat??? I think the first time I saw him walk past our house he had on shooting breeks and long white socks. I just melted... Funny thing is though he has never worn them while I have been with him!! Mind you they would'nt go anywhere near him now as he has put on so much weight.
I saw another Brimstone this afternoon but I suppose it could have been the same one.
Tell you what I have had though indoors, three great big wasps, all killed and out in the shed today there was another one which was dead after I saw it as I swatted it :-D :-D
Forgot to say that the Heron landed on my pond the other morning. Oh saw it and shooed it away.It had landed on the dead plants in the corner.
I have done something to my wrist on my left hand. I don't know what but the pain goes up my thumb too. No strength in it either.
The bats were flying over the pond tonight eating the insects showing in the outside light.
I too hope Gill's mum is ok. It's not like her to stay away too long.
Signing out now so night all.

OH said there was a queue at the tip and he went really early as well. It's all been re-organised now though so you have to hoist things up into different skips. OH said the men there help so it keeps things moving quite quickly and is better than it was. With the cuts though it isn't open every day so he checks online now before he goes. We are still having trouble with what day it is too!! OH said he would be up early to weed the front garden tomorrow.......he'd forgotten all about his appointment at the doctor's first thing in the morning. It's for the results of some routine checks.
Bunnies don't do well at your address do they!! :-0

Well I lasted as long as possible...Just bit the ears off my Chocolate Bunny :-S..He's gone deaf now.Poor thing :-) Shame your dinner wasn't up to scratch Frank..These things happen sometimes.I know only too well :-S Mandy that was unlucky to have the mist and not be able to get to the coast.I don't think we had any mist today.
Ann was the tip busy today? I haven't been to our tip for so long now but remember having to queue for ages sometimes.it has moved to a new site now and it is supposed to be a lot better.I think as we have had a couple of skips in the last year we got rid of everything in them.
Yes Mandy must remember TUESDAY tomorrow..I asked James earlier if Eastenders was on tonight ......He Mum it is never on on a SUNDAY !!! LOL .I can see we are all going to be 1 day out again this week.
I do all is ok with Gill..It is a long time now since we heard from her..Maybe her Mum is not well again.
I am off now for the night. Will get myself ready for bed and then it will be time for the new Drama on ITV.I see it is just a 2 parter.

Evening All,
What a glorious sunny day! OH went to the tip this morning with the old microwave, a computer chair and other rubbish and then weeded most of the back garden. Then after a shower we had lunch at the village garden centre. We went to seperate counties this afternoon, me to a garden centre in Rutland and OH to a match in Warwickshire. I bought a clematis with pink bell shaped flowers for one of the pergola things we have. It was a day for the roof down and shades on!! lol.
Yesterday we went to see the original Far from the Madding Crowd film. I'd forgotten how good it was and the last time I watched it it was in black and white as we didn't have a colour telly then. We'll be going to see the new film of it next which is coming out shortly.
Mel, I've said before that I find Aidan Turner very fancieable!! ;-) ;-) I love the kind of clothes men wore in those times too, especially those big coats. I was born too late!!! Mind you I would probably have been a scullery maid in those times. :-S Fancy seeing an Emu in the garden....... unless it's very tame or hungry there wouldn't be much chance of catching it would there?? I saw a Brimstone butterfly at the garden centre today. It's the second I've seen this year.
Liz, you have done a lot of work at your place to get it looking so shipshape and orderly! Windows could do with cleaning inside here. The sun shows every bit of smear and muck!
Frank, OH has B&B pudding whenever he sees it on a menu. He doesn't like the chocolate versions they do nowadays though. I've done them for him in the past, but he's not so keen on mine that I do with marmalade in!! He always has custard with his too which is something we never had with ours as children. He did have one with cinnamon in the other week and liked that which surprised me as he reckons he doesn't like cinnamon. :-S
That has happened to us with fence paint Mandy and I managed to get some the same on e*ay in the end. I'm sure they change them on purpose so you can't use up your old paint!! I bet your planters will look lovely when they are in place with flowers in them.

Well dinner was not to Madams liking, The meat had no taste, the root veg tasted of wine, Roast potato's not crispy enough and broc and Cauli needed sauce. So that's off the future MENU. I do try to change things, but evidently not for the better. ;-) ;-) ;-) Back to the drawing board.
It was my intention to walk to the pub, but just sitting down I got the cramp, so that idea has gone out of the window. Tony will take and bring me home.
Toilet paper all gone now Jane, just left with tiny blood stops on my cheek. I MUST NOT PICK THEM :-( :-(
Where is Gill ???
Mandy, It will mean there will be more crabs for other people this weekend with you not going.
I must go on some sort of diet. My 38" trousers are getting tighter by the day. I have put braces on tonight, under my jumper, so I can undo my trousers top button. I will be able to let it all out <3 <3 I know how you girls must feel now, when you get your BRA'S OFF !!!
How much grass do your OH have to cut Mel, I can just see the bantams having a good old scratch around a new lot of stones. BLESS EM :-D :-D :-D
Have a nice evening, I will miss two hours of soaps. The new thriller starts tonight I will watch that on catch up while madam is out shopping with Carolyn tomorrow. I have my instructions to clear up the bottom of the garden, where I have dumped everything.

Evening all,
Well we never got to the coast ,it was so misty and dull this morning we decided not to go, we nipped to sons to take DIL's birthday presents then we popped into Ho*ebase to get some paint for the wooden planters hubby has made ,well i have never seen it so busy !! We couldn't get the Rons*al furniture paint we normally have and it's a good job hubby hadn't started painting with a colour we already had as they don't have it any more ,so we picked some Homeb*se funiture paint in a nice grey colour .
This afternoon the sun broke through and i did sit out for a while watching hubby paint these planters ,i even had to get the garden brolly up as i could feel the sun burning my leg through my trousers ,but then when the sun went behind a cloud it was really chilly so i came back in .
Yes little Lewis is a sweet heart with his little dimple , i don't think the others have the dimple and they didn't have the dark hair like Lewis.
I shouldn't want to have to run after that Emu and try and catch it :-D
I suppose the next holiday will be the May Day holiday and then another bank holiday at the end of May .
Got to remember this is Monday .....Tuesday tomorrow ....it always seems a short week with the holiday Monday

You aren't covered in little bits of toilet paper then Frank :-D.lol..All smart to go to the pub.We never see a soul when we are in the garden except the occassional time if him next door is on his side near the only bit of fence we can see through.Yesterday I called hello and just got a silly grin and a nod.He is a weird one :-S.Well all the family are .You never see any one visiting ,and they seemed to have fallen out with most of the neighbours .Oh well there's nowt so strange as folk.
Mandy I was looking at little Lewis and his dimple again...A real Kirk Douglas there :-D :-D 2 different meals here tonight.James and Jess are having the Roast Turkey,Roast Potatoes ,stuffing and veg.
Chris and I are having the turkey but with that Rice and Lentil thing I made on saturday with peas and green beans. Jess goes back home this evening. We think the train service from here to London will not be disrupted(with it being B H ).Not sure what it will be like from London to Chislehurst. It should be ok.I must make sure she takes all her clothes and shoes home this time lol.She does leave a few bits here like jim jams and some undies and a top or two,But there seems to be a lot now .I must remember she has a coat in the garage too .It went in there after they had been out somewhere where there was a bonfire and it was a bit whiffy. Just got it and it smells fine now :-D I think when Hannah and I go down to Plymouth for 3 nights next month they will be going off somewhere ,maybe Stockholm or Amsterdam.Chris is quite looking forward to a bit of time to himself :-D. He is sitting out at the patio table reading at the moment.I'm surprised he isn't feeling a bit chilly.
So that is another Easter over. The next one will be here before we know it :-S..Easter Eggs and Hot Cross Buns will no doubt disappear off the shelves by tomorrow..What's next other than Fathers Day? Bonfire night?

You have been busy Frank. I swept up the pebbles the bantams scratched all over the back lawn this afternoon. It was a new sack of them and the plastic went over the winter and they all spilled out. Bantams thought they were great for looking for grubs so over the lawn they all went in all directions.
I let them out this afternoon and they have had a lovely dust bath under the box hedge. The old cockrel was seeing off the male pheasent as 5 of his girls were having a little c orn with some of the banties. Poor old Phil Pheas. he dos'nt know whats hit him when he stands up to Cockle. Have you ever seen male pheasents stand each other off? It can go on for ages with a lot of head bobbing and tail displays to make them look bigger but old Cockle just puts his two feet straight in. I think Phil came off worse as he walked away in the end.

Not Andre Rhea Jane :-D :-D :-D :-D I knew his brother RHEA END !!
I punished myself by getting the mower out and doing the back lawn. My gawd did it need it. I got six box's of cutting off it today, normally four. So it's been growing well since the spring treatment by Green Thum#
Ros has had a good go at the front garden, It looks very smart. She said the only trouble with working in the front is, everybody stops for a chat as they go by, so takes longer to do. She has just come up from the pond with two newts in the net. She is trying to clear more of this duck weed. !!! WHAT A JOB.
The sun has been very warm this afternoon, I took my tablet out to read a book, but it was too bright, so gave it up as a bad job.
Had another Shower and a shave with a new blade. Nicks everywhere. Good job I have one of those sticks that stop the bleeding ;-) ;-) ;-) Now sitting in my dressing gown for an hour, to get myself together.
Dinner is smelling great, even the neighbours asked what I was cooking, as it smelt so nice.
Tony the lazy neighbour has left his wife to do the garden this afternoon, while he sat on the seat on the patio reading. She is not well, Ros and I think she looks like she's had a minor stroke they way she holds her arm down by her side. I am always asking Tony HOWS VAL. Alright is all you get in reply. I think she should go and see the doctor, but I think what's it got to do with me !!! She has a brain, and should know she's not well.
Ice cream man is about, but his musical bells aren't working right. They are giving out a right old DIN.
Pub tonight for the football. and I think I have earned a pint, so might have one of those also. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

Oh back on the mower after a nice lunch of Melton Mowbray pie and salad.
I have washed up and am now going out there again.
Sowed calendulas, Cosmos and basil this morning. Looked at my Asidinanthrus (sp) and they looked ok so popped a bit of fresh compost in the bottoms of the pots and some on top. They are not frost hardy so I have had them in the shed over the winter. They have the most beautiful perfume.

Mel, I went into my small shed this morning and there were two butterfly's banging against the window trying to get out. I managed to retrieve them and they fly off.
I have taken down the old arch and replaced it with my galvanized one. When I put it together, it was too heavy for me to manage on my own, I had to call Ros. It's all in position now and I have retrained the Passion Flower up and over the arch. I have two honeysuckles to go in also, so when all settled we should have a nice scented arch to the lawn.
I can hear mowers going like mad around the gardens. I think the back lawn will be dry enough now (after the damp morning) to get cut.
I have had to put my onions back under ground. The Broad Beans and runners are doing well in the pots they are about two inches high now. I can just see my Garlic coming through and the trays of tomato seeds. So It looks like busy times ahead.
Just having a coffee, then I might (ONLY) might to the lawn.
