Morning al and evening Kim,
Wet and windy here today. It is blowing across the back like curtains in the breeze. It is not that cold though.
Mandy thank you so much. They are just wonderful although I don't like the ones with pink faces. The children will love them. Are you going to do them all one colouror in the colours they have on the pattern?
Just showed them to oh and he thinks they are great too.
I can't believe it is Saturday again. I don't know where March has gone.

Evening All,
That's brought a memory back Liz. My friend and I went on our first 'date' with two boys who had MG sports cars. There was no second date as they drove the wrong way onto a dual carriageway and had to drive over the central reservation to get on the right side of the road........that gave us the heebie jeebies and put us right off them!! Dad's first car that was a Singer had the sides of the bonnet lift up too. I think on the Triumph Herald the whole front of the bodywork including the wings hinged up from the windscreen end. They were liked for being so easy to work on.
Jane, they should have sorted that problem out with your car by now. I hope they haven't just tootled up the road in it and thought it seems ok. Do they give you something in writing to show what they've done when you've taken it in before?
Gawd, it's all been happening at your sister's! A bet Larry is in the doghouse....with the dogs in there too!! I'm surprised the cat came in with the smell of dogs around too.
Oh the knitted hedgehogs look so sweet Mandy. I would be starting them if I had the wool too so it's a good idea not to get it yet. I've never seen wool that gives that effect before.
I was like 'billy no mates' at beading today, I was the only one sitting at my side of the big table as the 4 others that sit my side were absent. The teacher wasn't very well last week but has a hacking cough now. I thought I was getting on well with my necklace till I spotted I'd missed one bead out and had to undo most of it to start again :-S
We noticed today when we drove along the lanes to go and eat out that a few of the grass fields next to the road have been ploughed up and wonder if it means more oil seed rape and runny eyes? We also noticed 4 birds of prey circling. We see some almost every day now so they are obviously on the increase. We both said we couldn't remember seeing any as children.
Off to bed now

Could have been a wild cat Jane and it was looking for a free meal.
Did'nt the old Austin 7s have lift up bonnets either side? I think a lot of the early cars did come to think of it.
I brought fish and chips in tonight and it was a very nice piece of fish both mine and his. He has haddock and I have cod.
Mandy knitted hedgehogs, how lovely and will you please knit me one and I will pay you for it. Do you still do your needle point?

Liz I think it was an old Hillman Minx we had that I think the sides of the bonnet went up.I could be totally wrong though. Mandy I will have to be tough with the garage and say I am not happy with the fact this will be the third time I am having the steering checked. It isn't bad but is something that I am not happy about .Something is causing it to happen..They might not know if the car had been in an accident (especially if the previous owner before hasn't been truthful) It still has a lot of warranty time left.
So knitted hedgehogs next then :-D..I think you are going to be busy Mandy lol
Janice said Larry has been all around their estate today asking about the cat ,but no-one knows it :-S :-S.It is a mystery . Just going to dish up now.My tummy is rumbling :-D

Jane, hubby was saying ,has your car been in a crash ? he had a new Mini ,he'd only had it for a few months when he had a crash in it ,it was repaired but he said from the day he got it back it always pulled to one side and never drove the same again, it had done some thing to the tracking on the car .
I can remember Dads car with the crank handle it took some turning and would kick back at you so you had to watch out !!
Things were easier to fix on the old cars ,now the have to be linked up to a computer .

Yes they did Jane, but before your time I'd of thought!! My S-father had an MG sports car when he and my mother were first married in 1947!! I can remember travelling in the luggage space in the back! That had a bonnet that opened from the sides. After that I THINK all subsequent cars opened like they do today, but I could be muddled?!!!

Evening all,
Another lovely sunny day here today but still a cold wind blowing .
Gosh it's been quiet on here ,usually takes a while to read all the posts !!
DIL rang and said she would come for the day with Lacey and Lewis after dropping the others off to school ,so we had a look round the shops and i bought Jake a Cap which i've put away for his birthday ,when i'am with DIL and she says one of the children would like this i buy it to put away so i know i'am getting them things they would like . I bought the buttons to go on the girls Jackets i'am knitting and when we were in there they had some new wool laid out on the table ,he then got out some patterns for the wool ,well i just had to buy the pattern it is for knitted Hedgehogs :-D i didn't buy the wool as i would want to start knitting them and i must finish the girls Jackets first :-D
I think Frank is home tomorrow Jane ,i'am sure he said four days away.
How ever did the cat get in with three dogs in the house !! you wouldn't have thought it would come in as it must have smelt the dogs , hope the poor old cat is alright ,he must have had a scare :-0
Clocks go forward tomorrow night ,it will be nice to have the lighter evenings again .

5 years ago today I was in Dubai with hannah for Rachel and Darren's wedding !!!!! Sheesh where dd those 5 years go??? and they are still together !!!!!But a lot happier in South Africa
I have just stopped and am having a sit down for the first time today.I am really pleased that there is not one bit of washing or ironing left :-D and I don't intend to do any more washing until after the weekend.Hoovering and Bathrooms cleaned and Spag Bol cooking away.(the sauce is from a jar though :-S).No Garlic Bread :-( we decided not to have it as there is no need really.
It is a lovely sunny evening, but it seems it isn't going to last.Sunday looks wet all day :-S Tomorrow afternoon Chris and I are going to the Derngate Theatre to see The Curious Incident of the Dog in the night.(Present from Hannah) :-D
My car is starting to pull to the left again :-S so I will be ringing the garage AGAIN on Monday.I never seem to remember my Dad having to take cars in when something was wrong.I think he tried to fix things himself if he could. But I suppose cars were a lot simpler back then...I don't know how many times he put his poor back out trying to start a car with the crank thingy !!!.....Am I right in remembering the the bonnets sometimes opened up from the side and folded back???? Or have I lost the plot :-S

It all happens with my Sister !!!!.This week her OH reversed her car into the garage door ..The car has been towed off as all the lights went plus the bumper. Then today (while she was at work) Larry looking after little William with his itchy Chickenpox spots, had to grab one of their dogs that was going crazy at something behind a settee. IT WAS A CAT.(It must have snuck in through the back door). He had to pull Riley off and the other dog who was just getting interested .The 3rd dog has a few marbles missing so wasn't bothered. But after a lot of chasing around the cat got out through the Patio doors(that Larry had opened) ..But then he noticed Riley was limping :-S So it was a visit to the Vets, and Riley had a couple of puncture wounds(from the cat!!!) So £40 later and antibiotics all is calm again. Now they are worried about the cat as they have been around all the neighbours and no-one seems to know this cat.It might be injured after Riley got at it :-( :-(
I think I am ready to think about going up to bed soon.I had another bad night sleep last night. If I don't get a good night sleep in soon I will be a right old *itch :-S and that won't do :-|

I think all the aircrew have the ability to key in the flight deck number, so in any emergency the cockpit can be entered. The pilots can immobilise the key pad from inside their cabin if any aircrew have to give the number under duress from a high jacker or whatever. Apparently they can see through a glass panel who is threatening them if this should occur and take appropriate action. Yes I think mooring will be pretty expensive! Can't quite see me at the tiller though!!! Thank goodness we're not paying!!! Just enjoying!

All these questions about the plane crash. It certainly was a terrible thing to have happened and all for a call of nature by the sounds of it.
Ann I meant to ask this morning if G was any better today but I see you have told us anyway.
I did remember the library as oh kept on about it all mor ing every time he came out for a coffee or a ciggy and I stuck a big sign on the pc. Got three new talking books this time too.
We had the doe in the orchard late afternoon when I let the bantams out. They take no notice of each other which is nice and while they were out the two lady pheasents went in the bantam house and ate their corn I had put down for them!! then the young cockrel went in with them.

That sounds like a good system........... but only as long as any threat is outside the cockpit!! I was wondering what would happen if the co-pilot passed out while the pilot was out of the cockpit but see Liz has explained that he can usually get back in again. Does this mean that if something happened to disable both the pilot and co-pilot no-one could get in the cockpit to be helped to fly and land a plane?

That sounds a good idea Jane and will be be better than getting big bill shocks! When you find a good dentist you do want to stick with them as you say. I know we were going to join a plan if we hadn't moved here and found an NHS dentist in the village.
Poor Georgette must be feeling a bit grim with a temperature like that. What a shame with it being her birthday today, but good she had the celebrations beforehand. OH is down the hall flopped on the bed reading the paper now. He'll probably be having 40 winks soon. ;-)
I went to a garden club garden centre in the end as I have some vouchers for them. I was hoping to use them on some secateurs so we have a pair each. I'd seen some at the retail park that I liked as they hold what you have cut off so it doesn't fall on the ground........saves keep bending down to pick the bits up!! Anyway they didn't have them so I will have to order some online instead. It was so windy lots of the plants were on their sides. I did get a nice yellow rock rose and a pink flowered alpine though.
That sounds good fun with the cabin cruiser Liz..........you won't be on the tiller then? lol. It must cost a bit to moor at Windsor in the summer I would think, but great for looking around London.

His poor parents!!!!.I see they went with other grieving families ,but since this latest news has come out they have now been separated from everyone else :-( :-(... What was going on in the mind of this young man???? .Maybe in time things will come out.People who have lost loved ones will want answers.
When I gave blood today I was surprised that it took 9 minutes for my blood to fill the bag.I was told I must have been very relaxed.Normally I take about 5 minutes. But thinking about it if you are relaxed then your heart isn't beating as fast so the blood will flow slower...I found that quite interesting :-D :-D It made sense :-D
Easy dinner tonight..Ready Meals :-D :-D

No, Jane, it can be opened from the outside, but apparently when the pilot went to the loo, the co pilot over rode the keypad to lock him out. The pilots can do this if a terrorist forces a member of the cabin crew to divulge the key number. Those poor people and the desperate Captain. Unbelievably dreadful.
