Morning all and evening Kim,
Dull again today with fine rain.
I tried everything last night to watch the second Banished. It was a blip on iplayer. As I said they had the titles up for the second episode but when you played it it was the program Two Tribes. I tried it on the pc too and it was the same. I hope they have put it right now so I can see it tonight. Or I may save it till Saturday when nothing is on.
I always watch what I want to see on catch up so I can do it without oh making comments all the time and hear ALL that is said. I don't record BBC as you don't get any adverts only ITV and then you can skip through them.

Mel, I think you'll be able to watch 'Banished' via catchup on your computer. Now and again I find it really useful when there is a programme that Ian doesn't want to watch (Last Tango in Halifax) for example, which he thinks is just plain silly. Mind you so do I, but it was a bit addictive!!! Indian Summers is another that he can take or leave. I love it, so catchup it is, and everyone is happy, well! that's the general idea!!! Jane, how do you manage to watch your Kindle in bed without using ear phones? Surely Chris complains about the running commentary?!!! Horrible morning here, gloomy and wet, so apart from the Hygienist, we won't be going far.

Evening all
That was handy Frank finding those plaques on Ebay. It's going to look lovely when it's all finished. Sounds like you've been very busy in your garden today. Hope Ros is feeling a bit better now.
Everyone seems to be getting their bird boxes ready. I still haven't got round to sorting ours out yet we've been so busy with the car these last couple of days. Took a good run out to Chester today and ended up at a garden centre. I bought a couple of plants and pots, so once the weather brightens up and the viewing is out of the way I will pot them up and sort out the bird box.
Can someone send me the photo Shirl sent. I'd love to see it. Thanks
How interesting Mel, with the couple buried together holding hands. I wonder how they died and came to be buried in the same grave. I guess we'll never know. I hope your mouth is ok today. That's a lot of birds you're feeding, it'll be lovely to watch. Hope Mr Fox keeps away.
Our Rosie the squirrel turned up before in the pouring rain for food. I opened the back door and went to get the nuts they when I turned round she'd jumped in the kitchen, she saw me turning round and promptly jumped back outside the back door waiting for the nuts. I don't want her in the house so I'm going to keep the door shut until I have the nuts ready next time.
Have you decided what colour paint you want yet Jane. You don't have much time, but I suppose that might be better you won't have time to keep changing your mind. I like so many colours I wouldn't know which one to choose I have to stick to neutral with selling but when the time comes and we aren't selling anymore I'll go mad with the colour lol. I'm sure what every colour you choose will be lovely.
We took the car back to the garage today on the off chance they might of been able to do the emissions test today instead of Tuesday, they were still busy but have said they can do it on Saturday and then if it needs the exhaust that can be done on Tuesday. OH said the car felt much better after the run out to Chester and feels positive that it might get though the MOT. My mum told me today that she has got OH on her car insurance so if we end up without a car we can borrow hers until we get another one. Finally some good news. It was nice to hear because our electric fire in the living room is broken now.
Oh well, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, as they say ;-) ;-)
Thanks Jane for letting me know about find my past. Mel was so kind as to look up the missing census for me and found the remaining 2 children. I don't know if I mentioned it but I'm now in contact with a fourth cousin 1 time removed. She had hardly any relatives on her tree so is made up with everyone I have and is in the process of copying my tree onto hers.

Yes Jane it was Bedlam, founded in 1247!!! and you're right about it now being part of the Maudsley Hospital an NHS trust. It moved from it's original site in the 1930's!! The cruelty perpetrated in that original place was just terrible, those poor inmates must have suffered dreadfully. Yes the dreaded Hygienist tomorrow. Our Dental Practice always sends an email reminder a couple of days before your appointment, so there is no escape!!! One good thing is that the practice is situated in Tetbury Hospital, so if you're suddenly taken ill, you're in the right place!!! Had my hair cut this morning, long overdue!! Oh! it does feel better!!! I bought three Easter eggs in Sainsbury's all exactly the same, so hopefully no squabbling!! Sad about your old teacher Ann, and Terry Prachett, what an awful affliction Alzheimer's is - poor man.

Evening All,
I was reading about that find today Mel. If only we knew the human story behind finds like this as there are always so many mysteries with them! Hallaton seems to be a place for finds as the 'Hallaton Hoard' was discovered there in 2000. That was a find of over 5000 iron age and roman coins and other artefacts including a roman helmet. I went to see them at Market Harborough (where I meet Jane and Fitz) Museum a couple of years ago.
I saw that about the London remains too Liz. It fascinates me what may be a few feet under our feet. It's good that Ian is feeling much better.
On the subject of history we noticed the other day that the council is putting up posh new road and village signs along the Richard 111 burial route into the city. I think it will pass by the other end of the village a couple of miles away. That road becomes King Richard's Rd as you get into the city.
I don't seem to have done much today, run a few errands, planted the pots I got the Violas for and cleaned the front door, then felt worn out!! OH has found the 3 bird boxes and put them in the greenhouse for me to stain and put the slate on. He noticed some sawdust type stuff in the opening of one and we think a mouse might have used it while it's been in the garage!! :-0
Mel, that's quite a houseful you are feeding.....it must cost you a bit!! When I used to breed canaries, we would go to a farm that grew canary seed and buy it by the sack and make our own canary mix.
It's a shame about Terry Pratchett dying, he wasn't that old either.
I see in tonight's paper my old RE teacher from Grammar School has died aged 89. I've let my old school friend with the ponies know as she used to live opposite me and this teacher used to come to tea at their house. She'd also taught my friend's much older sister who went on to be the first woman to acheive some religious qualification or other.

Mel that is really interesting about the find near Ann.I wonder how near it is to her.
Liz.My 2 would be just the same as your 2 if I didn't tell them Chris or I were ill.But as you say why worry them when you know it is nothing desperate. There is no point in worrying them for no reason .
Was the Bethlehem Hospital also Bedlam Hospital? Is it the Maudsley Hospital now? It is incredible what is being discovered !!!! What history we have in this country .It's great :-)
I made my appointment for the Hygienist today.Mine is on the 20th.Dread it like you Liz.I hope your hygienist will be gentle !! Hope the headphones are good.I can't stand them or earphones.I hate anything over or in my ears :-S :-S
Chris is fed.James has gone to see Johnny's Mum so I will eat with him when he gets in.

What a find and how wonderful that they were buried together. Wonder what they died of. ??? That's a lot of information you have there Mel. It opens your eyes when you hear of things like this. !! Glad you have all the pheasants visiting you. Do they nest nearby ??? If so think of all those lovely chicks to see later in the year.
Funny sort of day here. Bright and chilly this morning while I was down the PLOT I put my garlic in and covered them with fleece. I also sat in the greenhouse and potted 72 runner bean seeds. Still got half of an envelope of seeds left. They are last years from the crop. They gave such a good yield last year, that I let some go to seed.
Ros is still hobbling around. I did Pork Chops sweet corn and chips for tea tonight. The "Traditional Pork Chops" were from Tesc#. THEY were rubbish. The time you cut away all the fatty gristle and the bone. There was only a couple of mouthfuls to eat. Needless to say , a strong letter of complaint will be winging it's way to head office this evening. I don't mind paying for quality, but paying for rubbish is not my idea of FUN :-( :-( :-(
I will make sure I post your packet tomorrow Jane. You should have it by Monday with a bit of luck. Do you still have the small cable ??? I will go with Ros tomorrow and get my haircut while she gets the vegetables and odds and ends. We can then go to the garden centre to get the new Bird Box.
Football again this evening, so I will be off to the conservatory. while madam watches what she wants.
Glad everybody is in fine fettle.
Jane you will need to get your finger out about this paint colour. Don't you have anyone who can help you decide ???

Yes Jane Ian is a lot better today, and we have spent the afternoon out and about for this and that including Sainsbury's!!! Tomorrow I have the Hygienists, and after that nothing till Monday when the Waggon has to go in and have a service and hopefully run to earth a 'noise' that Ian is unhappy with!! Could be a wheel bearing or?!! It won't be cheap, as you say Jane anything to do with cars is always expensive!! 'L' rang yesterday to check how Ian was, as did 'M', both were miffed because I didn't tell them about Sunday's performance until.Monday midday! Thing is they both lead busy lives and I hate to bother them unless it's really necessary, but they don't see it that way!! :-S Some very interesting remains have been found in the grounds of Bethlehem Hospital in London recently, some thought to be plague victims!! It's amazing what is being discovered and all extremely interesting. Bought some new headphones this afternoon! They're sports ones, so hopefully they'll be more comfortable than the ones I've already got!!

How about this then and near Ann too.
The skeletons of a man and woman holding hands have been unearthed by archaeologists at a lost chapel in Leicestershire seven centuries after they were buried.
While some relationships last a lifetime, University of Leicester archaeologists believe the pair have been holding each other’s hands in the Chapel of St Morrell in Hallaton for much longer – around 700 years.
“We have seen similar skeletons before from Leicester where a couple has been buried together in a single grave,” said University of Leicester Archaeological Services (ULAS) project manager Vicki Score.
“The main question we find ourselves asking is why were they buried up there? There is a perfectly good church in Hallaton.
“This leads us to wonder if the chapel could have served as some sort of special place of burial at the time.”
Skeleton couple found hand-in-hand - 700 years on
The university archaeologists have been working with volunteers from the Hallaton Fieldwork Group to excavate the 14th century pilgrimage site during a four-year project.
As well as the skeleton couple, members of the project have revealed the full plan of the chapel and uncovered walls, a tiled floor as well as fragments of stone masonry, wall plaster, tiles and lead from the windows.
A number of silver pennies dating between the 12th and the 16th centuries have also been found on the site, indicating when the chapel was in use.
The team believes the chapel may have been an area of pilgrimage. Alternatively, the bodies might have been refused burial in the main church, perhaps because they were criminals, foreigners or sick.
These are two of 11 skeletons excavated so far, all orientated east-west in the Christian tradition and radiocarbon-dated to the 14th century.
Roman archaeology found beneath the medieval chapel suggests that the hilltop, which is also the starting point for the Hallaton Hare Pie Scramble and Bottle Kicking contest at Easter, has been a special place for over 2,000 years.
Further information about the excavation can be found on the ULAS website.

Yes Mel he did.It is on the big pine tree down the garden .Hope it is in the right place.Time will tell :-D I have a headache now trying to think about paint colours.I was wanting to go for a really different colour below the dado but think now we will still to something very similar to what we have now. It's too complicated lol I just wish I had a good eye for colours.I have just been going around in circles .One change will be though to get the window sill changed fro the dark brown it is now to the same as the rest of the woodwork..So there I have made a monumental decision :-D :-D
I also bought a little Roosting Pouch (wicker) and have put that on a branch in amongst other branches not far from the window feeder. So I am hoping I may see some activity there at some point.
Mel how nice to have so many Pheasants :-D.I had the big male one here again this morning.I think he just pops in for a feed now and then goes back next door. The Squirrel was looking in at me again just now on the window sill :-S.So I quickly shooed it off much to its disgust.
How is Ian today Liz? Improving now I hope :-D
Oh how sad I just heard Terry Pratchett has died :-(..(well I think that is what I heard). I better double check on that.
