Morning/Evening All

Gill I do hope that it is just a simple problem to sort with the car emissions and can be sorted without too much money coming out of your pockets.Nothing is cheap when it comes to car trouble is it :-S.

Mel how is your mouth? I hope you managed a good sleep and that the bleeding stopped.I bet the gaps feel strange now.

Nice morning here with hazy kind of sun.Chris has just got in with loads of compost and a haircut. So I am guessing there will be work going on in the garden later.

Frank the Flowering Cherries will look a beautiful sight when they come into flower. The Spinney will look very pretty. :-Dand what a great memorial for Sid <3

I'm going to have a coffee and then take some bags to the Charity Clothes Bin(the animal one today) so BBL

Morning you lazy lot, Evening Kim,

Looks like being a fair day here, with promise of rain from the West later.

Ros got up this morning with a stiff HIP. She can hardly walk. As she sat down she got cramp in the other foot. I did laugh but she didn't find it funny. :-( :-( :-(

Hope the car gets sorted Gill. It must be hard to be without one. How close are the bus's and shops.??

Didn't get your thing in the post yesterday Jane, will try today, if madam can drive.

I have found a couple of blank plaques on Ebay this morning, and Tony says he will do the message, then they can go with the trees.

Will try to spend an hour in the garden later. But I must admit it gets harder each year !!!!

Morning all

Dull and windy here today. We got a bit of rain yesterday so I'm glad OH managed to get the grass cut before we went out.

We took the car back to the garage yesterday but they were busy so we've had to book it in for Tuesday for the emissions test. The man at the garage said that doing another long journey might not work and that it might be the exhaust or maybe something worse. It's only a cheap car so the repairs might cost more than the car is actually worth, in which case we won't bother getting it repaired. It'll feel strange not having a car after having one for over 30 years but until we can afford a new one that's the way it will be.

I hope your mouth is better today Mel and you can have a nice cuppa this morning. Thanks for the further info for my tree I've PM's you.

I'm off to my mum's today and then we might take a trip out to Chester in the hope the journey might sort out the emissions problem. Chester is about 10-12 miles away from where we live so the round trip might do the job. Thanks for your advice Ann about needing a longer run in the car before the test. <3.

I've got to be at my mum's in 20 minutes so I'd better go

Annx Report 11 Mar 2015 20:26

Evening All,

I see Frank has been assisting the HEAD gardener this morning. :-) All I've done gardenwise is go and buy some white Violas for the front wall pots. They were looking very straggly so replanting them is a job to do tomorrow. That was a good idea for the Cherry trees , they will look beautiful in flower in the Spinney. I can't see my card on Shirl's photo either, maybe our cards were too big to fit on her table!! :-D

We went to get the slates for the birdboxes after lunch and got halfway there and discovered neither of us could remember the name of the place or even exacty where it was!! :-S I thought OH would remember but no, he just had a vague idea. Anyway we drove up and down a few streets and managed to find it in the end. They had some old slates around the back in different sizes and I sorted half a dozen. They only cost 50p each which was cheaper than I expected so that's another job to do as well now.

Oh Jane, it's awful sitting next to someone driving fast!! My dad was awful, went everywhere with his foot down to the boards, you'd leave your seat over hump back bridges. OH rarely goes fast, but I must admit I tell him about waving his arms about as he talks and he does talk a lot!! :-S I hated it when he did 70 on motorways with one hand at the bottom of the wheel and the other waving about. He's better now than he was, maybe because I said I'd do it myself and see how he liked being the passenger........... and that I would go on holiday in my own car without him if he kept doing it!! lol. They don't think about tyres blowing out and controlling the car one-handed do they.

Fiona, you have grouped the photos beautifully and made a real feature of them!! It all looks very orderly and smart. :-)

Gill, I hope that run to your mum's is far enough to burn off any carbon deposits as I think they reckon 10-15 miles to do it and get it at it's best for the emissions test. I hope it passes for you and will keep my fingers crossed. You have had a run of bad luck this year as you say and need something to go right for you now.

It's good you've done at the dentist's today Mel and I hope your mouth feels more back to normal now. I had a chuckle at your 'Miss Haversham' roses...... they would fit nicely in our dusty study at the moment!! There are Llamas with flocks of sheep around here too and there is a Llama farm near Loughborough that one of my beading friends went to where you take them for a walk!!

Frank Report 11 Mar 2015 19:18

Evening all,

Spent a good few hours in the greenhouse/garden today. Have set onions lettuce seed, carrot seeds, parsnips. Potato's chitting away, so they will be ready by next week. I also have to put Garlic in, and pot up my runner beans. I have also potted up Broad bean seeds. I think they will survive better going in the ground as plants.

Nice piece of Lamb tonight roasties, parsnips, peas, carrots and cabbage.

Hope your mouth isn't to sore tonight Mel.

Jane I am getting like you, I hate Ros driving to fast. But all she says is I AM THE DRIVER.!!!!

Glad Ian is improved Liz, worrying time, when things like that happen.

I see that Copper has admitted he gave the order to open the gate at the Hillsborough disaster. What sort of person is he. To keep quiet about it for TWENTY SIX YEARS. Hope he can live with himself.

I have donated the two flowering cherry trees that I bought for Sid's memory for his wife to put in the garden, to the Village Spinney down by the canal. I will get Tony to paint a couple of "IN MEMORY OF SID BARKER" signs.. Then Alan and his wife can put them in place when they plant them. I have asked so many times for Valerie to take them, and still they sit on the patio. They are all in bud now, so hopefully will flower later in the year.

Off down the PUB for the Chelsea match, so see you later.

I didn't see my card on Shirl's photo, so hope she got it !!!

I bet you are glad that is over now Mel.If I were you I would take a couple of painkillers just before all the numbness goes.Don't forget NOT to rinse out tonight .You don't want to dislodge any nice clotting.

The film was OK this afternoon but I wouldn't rave over it.I must been sitting awkwardly in there as I have chronic backache now :-S.Fitz drove....I have to admit I was hanging onto my seat.I wish he wouldn't drive so fast ,and also wish he concentrated more instead of talking all the time and waving his arms about :-S :-S :-S

I feel like I could sleep for England..I don't know why as I slept well last night(maybe too well)

A farmer on the way to Bideford has three llamas in his field with all the chicken houses where he raises those big white chickens for the table. He is always moving their tent like houses around the field. He keeps them all very well and sometimes the llama's are in with cattle.

Thank you all for your good wishes, the patient is progressing really well now, so I think we're out of the wood!!
Clouding over this afternoon so no gardening! I shall do Merlin's field and clean his water trough, then think about supper!
I've heard that Llama's make excellent guards for sheep, and can be quite alarming for a would be burglar! A bit like Geese!! I remember when I first worked in care in the community, I was sent to a farm that had geese, and they were really frightening. The old lady I was visiting insisted on letting them roam free to attack 'robbers' as she put it!! I could write a book about my time on the 'bunny run', My time in the Office was nothing like as interesting, but the money was a lot better!!

Morning all and evening Kim,

Dull and dreary here today with a little rain in the air now and then..

Poor Ian it must have been quite frightening to be so ill like that I do hope he gets better soon Liz. Please give him my regards.

Fiona the pictures look great displayed up there where you can see them as you research.

Gill I wish you could take the car to my little man down the road to us. He sorted my emissions out on my old car and did'nt charge me anything like th e amount you have been quoted.

Ann pleased your eyes are seeming much better now. It is not nice when something happens to your eyes. We don't realize just how much we depend on them for everything until something goes wrong.

I could'nt sleep again last night. Tried not to toss and turn and even had a cuddle from oh after he had been to the loo. Don't know what time I went off eventually but I think it was after oh got up and I turned over and stretched out on his side of the bed.

I think it is about time I threw away my birthday roses. They have lasted three weeks and are now looking like something out of Miss Haversham's house. The only one that still looks good is the one that was broken off when they arrived and I put it in an egg cup on the windowsill above the sink.

Jane hope Hannah's cold clears up for her meal out on Saturday and she can enjoy the lovely flavours.

Frank I have just sent you a pic of the box :-)

I think rain is due later this afternoon ,but I do think it is a shame to be in a Cinema when it is sunny.Maybe the rain will arrive when I am in there :-D I won't mind then.
Fitz will be here any minute now so I better be ready.
See you all later

Morning all, evening Kim,

Tony called over the fence yesterday to say the back was falling out of a bird box. When I lifted it down "IT FEEL TO PIECES" in my hand. It's made of that conteboard. that you can't nail together. I don't think I have enough Supper Glue to put it back together. So will buy another Proper wood one.

Glad Ian has improved Liz, what a worry. :-( :-(

You don't want to be shut up in a Cinema on a day like today Jane. By the way that little box is it square and about 3 1/2 inches square. If so I will get it in the post ASAP.

Ros is in they garden working, so I had better get my Ar## out there and help.

Will catch up on posts later.

OMG a mouse in the shopping !!!!!!! Just the thought is giving me goosebumps.

I bet your photos look great in your little room Fiona.A perfect place by the sound it as that is where you do the family history :-D..Good luck ant the dentist

Also Mel I hope you get on fine having your toothy pegs out today.

I have been watching a hedgerow disappear so fast :-(.The digger is hard at work.I took a pic out of my bedroom window just now..I bet by lunchtime it will be a different view :-S :-S..One of the trees gone is one a Red Kite often sits in..He won't be able to sit there now :-( :-(..We think that is where a new road is going to be :-S

I worry about the Badgers Setts in the field the other side..What will happen to them when they start digging there. Are they protected? Will they have to be moved ? or will they just be bulldozed up?

I'm just going to get a cardi and then pick Fitz up to go and get the car from the garage
then i will be home to hang washing out and do a few jobs before going to Northampton.

Oh Liz.Poor Ian.He must have felt dreadful with that temp...Was it just not the right type of Antibiotics he had first time around? That is what happened to Hannah when she went to India. But once on the right course of tabs right as rain..
Hopefully there will be a huge improvement now <3

Morning all

Bright sunshine again here today. OH is outside cutting the grass we have got a viewing on Saturday.

Thanks Mel for all your help, I now have all 6 children. I would never of found them with the wrong spelling's on their surnames even if FMP had been open for a little longer. I hope all goes well at the dentist.

Love the cake picture Ann. Yes we were lucky with the bird box and camera, they are normally quite expensive but we found this one at Ald* and it was only £40....Bargain.

Lewis looks lovey Mandy, he's getting big now. Sorry to hear he's not well, hope he gets well soon. <3 Poor Chelsea, it's bad enough having new teeth come through but when the baby ones haven't fell out first it must be horrible for her. Hope they can sort it out at the hospital.

What a shock that must of been having a mouse delivered with the shopping, then having it run around the kitchen. Yuk....

Hope Ian's feeling a bit better today. It'll be nice to see Liz back on here. There seems to be a lot of illness's going around for everyone at the moment. Hope everyone's fit and well soon

We are going out today to visit OH's mum she lives about 5 miles away. We were going to go at the weekend but OH said if we do a long run in the car it might sort out the emissions so he's decided to go to his mums today then call in the garage on the way home so they can check the emissions again. If that works then we can book the car in for the other two small jobs to be done and get our MOT.

It all depends on the journey today and weather it works. The man at the garage said we could pay £400 for him to try and bring the emissions down but also said there were no guarantees so OH doesn't want to waste any money until he's tried giving it a long run first. Fingers crossed it works and we have the MOT before the old one runs out on Monday.

I don't know...... we're having a right year of it so far and it's only March :-D :-D What with the window, the boiler and now the car. Thankfully the boiler seems to be back to normal and the window's been done. Just the car to go.

Sorry to hear Hannah is full of cold Jane, hope she feels better for her birthday meal on Saturday <3. Enjoy your day out with Fitz.

Sounds like you're on the mend now Ann with your eyes. Hopefully the moisturising cream will work for you and help with the dryness.

Glad to hear you have cleared the air with your neighbour Frank. At least he understands now and you can be friends. ;-) ;-).

OH has just finished the back lawn and won't be long on the front so I'd better go and get ready to go out. Good job he decided to do them before we went out as it look as if we might get a bit of rain. It's gone very cloudy now.
BBL <3

Morning All, Evening Kim

Been busy helping OH put up some copies of old photo's of my Ancestors on the front bedroom wall which I use as my own study, where I do my family history, and use the computer, it took a bit of doing as I wanted them in a fancy display and he had to screw them on a board and nail them on the wall, but I am very happy with the effect.

Going out to coffee this morning and then it's off to the dentist this afternoon for a filling and clean up, hope I won't be in too much discomfort.

Back again! after a bit of a traumatic time ! To cut a long story short, I had to get the duty doctor out to OH on Sunday evening, as he was running a temp of 101f ( old money!!) and was feeling nauseous, and clearly had sleeping sickness!! The out of hours were brilliant, absolutely first class, which was fantastic. Anyhow, after a change of pills and more sleep(!) things this morning are a lot better, so I think now all will be well. OH's GP rang yesterday to check how he was, and another sample is required on Tuesday!! What a performance!!
Mel, We finally(!) watched Poldark yesterday evening, and really enjoyed it! Like you we were a bit sceptical, but it was pretty good and the scenery was beautiful, but then Cornwall is!! We are watching Sir A. C.Doyle, but are not that sure!!! Probably need to persevere!! In C.T.M (also watched yesterday!) when the word thalidomide was uttered, we both looked at each other and said ' Oh no'! more episodes in the making methinks!!
Jane, I've managed to download ITV catchup onto my Kindle!! I did it onto my laptop and low and behold it was on my Kindle as well, and seems to work ok!! Can't seem to do channel 4 though!! so am stuck with the laptop for that!!
