Morning Everyone, Evening Kim
Pouring down here, just waiting for a call from the builders , they usually say they will be with you in half an hour, must remember to tell the man where OH wants the paving stones put, not on the grass but on the drive, close to the edge of the grass so OH can park the car when he arrives home tonight, will be around 9.45pm his flights due in to Glasgow about 9 but by the time he gets through the gate and walks to the car park where he left his car on Tuesday, at least it's straight down the motorway and home.
Better go and clean the cooker, been meaning to do it since yesterday, but when plans changed I didn't get around to do it.

Morning All and Evening Kim,
Suns out here and I think it may be another nice day. I shall have to look for Janice in court one. I hope they enjoy their day there. I'm sure they will.
Mandy too a day out. I love to go to shows but find I get a headache trying to look at everything around. Then eye ache. We have'nt been to a show for a few years now. The last time I went to one was with my BIL and SIL at Camelford I think.
Ann I can never get the sowing stage right for a succession either. They say about two to three weeks but I can never remember when I sowed the first lot and never write it down.

Morning /Evening All No sun yet but it is trying.I rang Janice at 8 and she and Larry were well on the way to Wimbledon. It is court 1 they are going to.
Does anyone have one of these handheld cordless Dys** hoovers. The mini kind? I'm thinking of getting one. They look good for things like skirtings ,cobwebs and narrow spaces.Just wondering it it is a good idea.
The Burglar Alarm man is coming this afternoon to do the yearly service,so I better clear all the cobwebs that might be lingering around and behind the sensors .
Good luck to Anns OH today at the Docs.I hope he finds out just what is wrong with his foot. I'm off down the garden to pick another Cucumber
You slipped in there Ann lol
Mandy have a great time today.Hopefully the weather will stay fine at least until you get home

Morning All,
Dull here, but the sun is trying to come through. Jobs in the garden for me this morning, planting more radish, spinach and rocket. I never seem to get the sequence of planting little and often with them, so end up with a feast and then famine. Then I shall pop to the dogs home with some old clothes for the charity shop and to have a peek at the dogs through the window.
Hope you have a nice time at the show Mandy and that your shoes stay comfy with all the walking. I bet the kiddies are very excited.

I'm game Frank!! Jane has whetted my appetite for Beckworth Emporium with what she has told me before!! lol. You can wear your straw hat, I like them and OH used to wear a straw fedora quite often. I have to wear a sunhat or I can end up with headaches in strong sun. I think we'd have to meet Mel halfway though......now where would that be??
OH will be off to the docs in the morning to see what his results are and to see what the doc says about his foot. We were walking around Nuneaton today and a lady just lightly brushed her bag against the calf of his leg and he got an awful pain in his foot, he says it was agony!!!! It sounds like nerve pain to me, but it will be good to see what this doc says. At least it is a bit better for driving now.
I kind of lost interest in Wimbledon this year. It happened when Nadal got knocked out.

Evening All,
Another nice and very busy day! Yesterday I got my locks shorn like the sheep and it was up early again today for the man who services our gas boiler etc. Good news there as he said it was very good. Then I had to chase him up the road as he went without us paying him!! It cost £60 which didn't seem bad for the combi boiler, cooker hob and gas fire. OH had to walk up the garden for a bit when he was testing the flue etc. because he couldn't stand the pong!
More washing done and dried and just the towels and shower curtain in the washer now. OH has nipped out to a meeting to do with his footie tonight. We had a nice salad earlier with our own lettuce, lamb's lettuce and cue. Jane is right about homegrown being nicer.
Mandy, it sounds like you could cut your cue off now. The mini ones get quite fat and smooth, but if you leave them too long they start to go yellow instead of grow longer. I've picked a few in the last few days, but I find they keep really well for a week or two in the fridge if you wrap them tightly in a polythene bag. Thanks for the pics of Lacey, the little poppet is showing off her toothy pegs bless her. I can't believe she's 1 already and a blue eyed blonde now, just like her sisters!!
Mel, there is no sign of the broad beans I planted either and only a couple of the french beans have made it.......well it was old seed!! The purple mangetout have purple flowers on them at the mo, so it should be interesting to see what they will be like. My toms haven't produced much flower at the bottom of the stems either, but at least some little toms are growing now. I'm positive one of the plants isn't a Gardeners Delight as it is stronger and stubbier than the other 2 plants, so gawd knows what kind of tomatoes it will have!! lol.
Frank, my 'earlies' are in flower now and I had a scrape around the bottom of one yesterday and there were potatoes a couple of inches wide so big enough to eat. At first I tend to just feel around for and pick the biggest and cover the small ones back up to grow on. I can just taste them now, steamed with a sprig or two of mint!! yumyum!
Bother.......I meant to watch the Workhouse prog and forgot!! Must see if it is on the iplayer.
Maureen I think a 16GB USB stick should be plenty for you to save your wedding photos. If you have photos with higher amounts of pixels, (depending on what camera you use) they take up more space on the USB storage so it's hard to say exactly how many. My camera picturecard is 16GB and that holds over a thousand! Most computers nowadays have 2.0 ports, but I would be inclined to ring somewhere like PC *orld, tell them what your computer is and how old and they should be able to confirm whether USB 2.0 is the one you need to get to be compatible.

What time do you want us down Mel. Jane can pick me up as I can't drive.
I have an old school pal in Aus. both her and Kim said she was useless, and the Country was going to the dogs, with her in charge. What is it they say "what goes round comes around" she's got her cumupence .
Have been sitting in the garden while the soaps have been on. It's turned a bit chilly now, so I have come in.
Hope you all have a good evening.

Mel I do sometimes pick the pods when they are flat, like you say they are sweet and tasty.Good in stir fries and salads. But the actual peas were even tastier last year.We have more plants this year as there weren't enough before Yes Frank ,do let me know if you go to Beckworth again. It would be an ideal place to meet .Maybe Ann could get there too. That would be nice.
Kim will be pleased to see the Prime Minister go in Oz I see she has been ousted.
My Nephew(Janice's youngest son ) has gone off to Glastonbury today.I am so jealous as the Rolling Stones are top of the Bill this year.Remember when my Hannah went 2 years ago and ALL THAT RAIN AND MUD.Hopefully Matthew will have a much better experience there this year.Although it looks like there might be some rain tomorrow.I think he is there for 6 days!!!! Brave lad lol Janice will be at Wimbledon tomorrow.I hope she rings me to tell what court they are in so I can have a look on the tele and see if I can spot them

Jane why not pick some of the pea pods when they are flatish and have them as Mange Tout? you get more out of them like that with the same lovely pea taste.
Still not done anything more today. Oh is out mowing so I think I will feed the chickens their corn.
Chilli for tonights dinner, nice and easy.
Fiona at least the builder let you know so you coould go out after all. I hope you enjoyed your coffee and chat.

Oh Shirl ,I think Frank needs a clip round the ear calling you that He's a cheeky monkey lol Hope you have a lovely time with your visitors.
What a lovely day it has been and still is.Although it did come over a bit stormy looking at one point this afternoon .I whipped in the washing and put away the electric weeder.(didn't fancy electrocuting myself),but it all cleared away and the sun came out again
Chris has a straw hat and looks a right plonker in it.I HATE it.He keeps on about getting a Panama Hat !!!.I said if he did I would not have anything to do with him if he wore when we were out.He said would be fine with him
Dinner tonight is Breaded Cod,Parmentier (?sp) Potatoes ,Cauliflower Cheese ,Baby Carrots and Peas.I don't thin it will be too long now before our Petit Pois are ready to pick.Last year they were lovely so I'm hoping for the same again this year.

Hi all,
Meant to say this morning, how weird is this. I was reading my book in bed last night, and the last line I read was. "What time is it" the reply was 11.40 pm. I looked at my bedside clock and it was 11,40 pm.
Jane, I didn't mean to ignore you about meeting at Beckwith for a coffee. I will try to give you a day or so notice, that would be a great idea. ANYBODY WANT TO JOIN US. ?? Mel it wouldn't take you long to get here. LOL LOL
Ros has filled the green bin and three plastic bags, with cutting from all the bushes round by the pond. She still has to come the length of the boarder to the patio. So the bin man will be looking for a tip to take that lot away.
It's been a lovely afternoon here, warm in the sun when the clouds cleared to let the sun through. I wore my hat to protect my thinning hair line. My head feels quite warm. (HOT HEADED LITTLE BEGGER in more ways than one.
Fiona, I do feel for you, It can't be nice having to protect your head like that. These builder suppliers don't have a lot of consideration for their customers. They expect you to be at their beck and call when it comes to delivery !! Glad you found out in time to be able to go out for your coffee with friends.
Mel, My days are always like that. So much to do, and no time to do it Where does the time go ??
Nice easy tea tonight. Steak and home made chips (ROS likes them thin like you get in McDs) not that eat McDs but she has a chicken one when Lewis is here.
Talking of him. The little B got hold of my big water gun (the one I use for the cats) He decided to shoot water everywhere, including my clean windows, you should see the marks. !!! I will have to do them again now. I'll brain him before he's much older. (Where have I heard that before) Both my MUM AND DAD.!!!

Afternoon All,
Frank you wear your straw hat if you want, at least your in the garden at the moment with this sunny warm weather I have to wear my sun hat everywhere I go (had to get a kids size cos I have a little head, I whip it off as soon as I get into the shops. My head would go daft if the sun got to it,
what an upside down day,I didn't know if I was staying in or going out, OH ordered paving slabs for the green house base, they were to come today between 8am & 6pm so I just plodded about around the house and told the ladies I wouldn't be out for coffee, then at 10.00 I get a phone call from the builders all the slabs have not arrived at the depot, so they won't be delivering today after all , can they come tomorrow instead, YES!!!! I said no problem, and dashed off to get ready and text the ladies to say coffee was back on. Hurrah Very pleased because going out breaks up the days OH is away, in all day yesterday, out today and staying in tomorrow.

I love a man in a straw hat Frank. I bought oh one when we were first together and he wore it a bit but then gave up on it. I used it instead. Then he said he did'nt like me wearing a hat!! Mine went on the scarcrow when I made it and I now still have his as mine was a bit worse for wear.
I was going to do so much today and hav'nt really done anything. Just picked the last of the strawberries and opened up the tunnel. I hav'nt even been round to the big chickens yet as oh did them this morning.
Got on here first time this morning but when I tried to get to the last page I kept getting the Error page come up.

I've been up the steps Ros wanted some branches taking off the cherry tree that overhangs the POND. She was doing a bit, seeing me climb up the steps and reaching over to grab the branches with my right hand (the poorer one) and cutting the branches with the other. I tottered a couple of times, but managed to keep my balance. I am shaking all over now, so will sit and compose myself for a while.
What a beautiful day it has turned out.
I had the most horrible job this morning, cleaning out the BLACK BIN, Even though we put all the kitchen waste into bags and tie them up, there is always something's that just go in the bin.. They always get stuck to the bottom, and the fly's lay their eggs on it. The bottom of the bin was crawling with tiny maggots. I put the hose in the bin and quarter filled it. Then took it to the drain in the road and emptied it. Washed in out again left it in the sun to dry, and now put loads of JEY# Fluid in it. It smells much better, and as "clean as a whistle". (where does that saying come from ??)
Well I will make madam a coffee, and have a sit and read with my straw hat on. NO LAUGHING PLEASE.

Afternoon everyone,
Nice and sunny ,been shopping this morning i had a list of bits and bobs to get ,hubby wanted a couple of brackets to put on the front gate post ,we noticed it was coming away from the wall i think its because the postman keeps banging it shut , also had to get a couple of bottles of drink to take with us tomorrow when we go to the show ,the queues for drinks can be long so at least we'll have one to start us off. I had to also get some more fat balls for the birds ,they seem to be getting through them so fast !!
I've been filling some of the bottom cupboards back up as hubby has put two of the new work tops on ,i've been up and down the stairs getting the stuff down, so much for having a quiet day !!
Jane are they Mini cues you've picked ? or just the long ones you've picked before they get too big ? I'am very tempted to cut the biggest cucumber that's growing ,it's about six inches long inches now and quite fat round . if i leave it to long will it taste bitter ?
Time for a bit of lunch now i think, then a sit out side with my book . BBL

Just picked 2 more baby cucumbers.I think we have had about 6 or 7 now. Each one is just the right size for a couple of people.,and they taste so good. You really can't compare the home grown things with the shop goods, especially the salad stuff. James has just put the big Umbrella up over the patio table for me.I can't reach the winder ,and now I'm just going to put a bit of lunch out there .Mozarella and Tomato Salad with Basil.some mini pork pies, bean and mint salad ,breadsticks, and not forgetting my Cucumber
