Ooh Fiona ,will this mean you have to stay up ,or will you be able to go to bed? Poor OH having to hang about in the airport If it was Chris getting in at that time I would be well in the land of nod lol .In the early days we would have sat up and waited for whoever was coming home late but as the years passed it was bed as normal ,and a little grunt when whoever crept into bed.
Talking of OH's I have Mr Grumpy pants tonight .I just told him to go away and be grumpy on his own lol. Can't be doing with that tonight .

You are a little saint Jane take FIVE HOUSE POINTS. I can understand Jess liking to stay at yours. You come over as so laid back, you are likely to fall over If you need anybody to adopt I'm available. Greek Islands, I would be glad of a Greek Yogurt
Mel, Is there any little fish in the pond ?? if so look out for the snake, we lost some of ours at Gayton. and we had snakes there.
My it has been close this afternoon. I even went into the shade of the OLD CHERRY TREE (OAK) as the song goes. I laid on my lounger reading, and listened to the baby Jackdaws. There are loads of them. Squawking away, it stopped me having forty winks..
All the doors and windows are open, trying to get a breeze through.
The Silly neighbour, who has been sitting around all day, has decided to mow his front lawn. Typical just as we are going to settle down for the evening.

Gosh it is so close and muggy..I feel thunder is looming. My floors took ages to dry even with every window ,door open. There is just no through breeze.I have just stripped back the duvet on our bed and put a sheet for tonight.Chris will probably grumble but that's tough .I am NOT having a Duvet on ....so there
We have Pinwheels tonight and Saute Potatoes. But they are not Lamb wheels.Chris got them thinking it was Lamb, but it's pork.Jess will be disappointed as she loves the Lamb ones.Never mind ,it can't be helped.Just one of those things. I am looking forward to having the house to ourselves for a few days .Hopefully by tomorrow evening.James doesn't like staying too long at Jess's (her Mum can be a bit of a Drama Queen /High Maintenance )Jess loves being here as it is so chilled with no arguements and nice meals .I do feel sorry for her really .
I think they are upstairs looking at holidays (Greek Island).Because of the luck we have had (windfall wise) we have said we will treat them.It won't happen again lol

On my third lot of waashing today and thats the bin empty. Two lots dry already.
Oh hovered the big pond out this morning and the muck was horredous and now after lunch it was all rising to the top and bunging the skimmer up. I love to watch it swallowing up all the gung but it is getting blocked up a lot and oh has to keep empting it. Then I was looking in the pond and saw another GRASS SNAKE in the big pond and then it went to the corner where the pipes from the filters go back in the pond and it climbed up the pipes and went out the back. Then a little while later the chickens started clucking their heads off and were all looking one way and suddenly they all clucked and jumped in the air. They had seen the snake and chickens do NOT like snakes. Oh looked over the fence and told me to get the camera but it was too late it had slithered away into the long grass.
So.... thats two in two days and there is sure to be another one now. Just as well they don't frighten me is'nt it?

Just come in for a break from all this sunshine. Ros has been out the back doing one of the boarders, It got too hot for her, so she's packed up and dozing in the lounge.
I have prepared a chicken in the casserole, with onions, carrots, tomato's and celery. Fresh spring greens and mash.
Going back out for another helping of sunshine and my book. I might even doze off out there, but I can hear LAWN MOWERS.

Morning everyone,evening Kim,
It's really muggy here today and overcast the sun keeps trying to break through, first thing we had a few spots of rain but not enough to wet the ground really.
We now have working house phones , the electrician came this morning and with a lot of fiddling about wires out wires in he decided that it was the upstairs phone wire in our bedroom that was the problem !! so touch wood we are all up and running again .
Off out this afternoon to one of the gardens that open to the public twice a year ,i went in september and it was a picture so hoping this time of year will look good too. Hubby's routering away out side he's got the day off as the new Extractor for the kitchen is being delivered this afternoon so as i'am out some one needs to be here .
Oh Frank your not a picker are you you leave those scabs alone
My arm is really sore ,i bang it on the door handle as i came in with the shopping the other day ,thought i would have a big bruise but nothing so far .
Oh hubby wants a cold drink, better keep the worker happy

Morning my lovelies and Will/David Evening Kim.
Thanks Mandy, Will put the recipe with my others, will try it soon.
I'm all shower and shaved. In my shorts, ready for my sun lounger.
I had a good old fry up this morning. Three rashers, two eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms and toast. That should see me through till tonight. Oh and three cups of tea !!
Have forwarded the pork thingy on to you Mel.
I said I wouldn't hold my breath about the neighbour cleaning the windows his side. STILL NOT DONE !!
The grazes on my arm are starting to scab up and getting itchy. I keep telling myself, YOU MUST NOT TOUCH
Pop back later.

just saw your post Jane.
Both Katherine & Jake are suffering with hay fever, snif ,snif blow I used to have it as a child but seem to have grown out of it, mind you I still can't have Kiah in the house as any dog hair makes me sneeze and throat goes tight and eyes irritate on a nice day she likes to be with us outside , but on a wet day or cold she stays in the front porch where she has her blanket and water bowl,

Morning /Evening All It is a sticky one this morning. Not a breath of air at all.It is a hazy kind of sun.A High Pollen day
Mel I just buy diced Pork so I'm sure you can just dice the loin and it will be fine/ Heat oven to 150 (FAN ) Brown off the pork in the butter and set aside. Dry fry the Lardons and put in with the pork Fry Shallots, onion, celery to soften. Combine all this with the pork and lardons in a large casserole. Pour over stock and cider (I always add more than it says) Stir and cook for 2 hours. Take out of oven and add the Creme Fraiche and cornflour mix and the Mustard and Tarragon.Heat on top of the hob and stir until slightly thickened.
Mel I sometimes I cook the meat etc the day before and then the next day add the creme fraiche cornflour ,mustard and Tarragon.
I am not going out at all today,I'm going to get my ironing out of the way this morning ,maybe wash a floor or two and then this afternoon if I can bare it outside am going to sit and read ...How about everyone else?
FRank Ann has gone for just 1 week so should be back on FRi/SAT

Morning All, Evening Kim
Sunny here this morning ,bin just been emptied. just brought it back in .I will have to get OH to give it a wash out, Phew!!!!! what a stink, no point in me trying to clean it. I can't reach the bottom of it, too tall (dustbin of course) he will need to give it a good scrub with an old sweeping brush & bleach.
no Coffee today with friends, so having my coffee and lunch at home then meeting Katherine at the corner of the street, and we will walk down together into town.
Nurse from the hospital phoned last night and ask how I was managing my head with this warm weather, told her I wear a sun hat and sit under the brolly in the garden , 1 of the problems I have is when it's really hot in the car, my head bothers me cos the sun comes through the glass, I have to sit in the back in the middle with sun shades stuck to the window to keep the sun out. also my head goes daft when I open the freezer as the intense cold hits the spot WOW!!!!! So I am now taking 50 mg of medication, felt a bit more sleepy than normal but it always takes a few days to kick in.

Morning All and Evening Kim,
A beautiful sunny morning here with lovely blue skies and just a tiny bit of white wispy cloud.
Can someone post the method for the Normandy Pork please? I have saved the recipe and can I do it with a pork loin?

HERE I AM as promised.
I think I would like that Normandy pork. Can someone send me the recipe so I can print it. I assume you can reduce amounts, as there are only TWO of us. When I tried to print Mel's Minty mushrooms, I printed off 9 pages of the thread. Don't want to do that again
Is Jess's results good ?? or indifferent. I don't think the family should criticize her efforts. It almost makes her tell porkies and not let them see the results. Very bad of them. I always believe praise helps, even though it might not be want you want.
When Ros came back from shopping I was in my shorts preparing dinner. She noticed the plaster on my arm and said "WHAT'S THAT" When I told her she said oh bl###y hell, It won't matter to her anyway. I just feel a bit younger I have to go back in THREE WEEKS for another injection. I can see me sleeping in the lounge or the conservatory
That was not good business Jane. He should have at least phoned to let you know he would be late. NO EXCUSE for bad manners.
Do hope Jess and James enjoy their meal out this evening, it might take their minds off other things..
There's a blackbird sitting on the top of the cherry tree singing his heart out, and there's another one way off somewhere replying to him. !!
Sky looks like it's clearing, I think tomorrow will be fine, but Thursday it will be showers and Friday more persistent rain AND THAT'S THE LONGEST DAY OF THE YEAR. Something to look forward too.
