No Mel he is still here !!.Uni starts on I think the 19th (if that is a monday) so he will go that weekend. But tomorrow he is going down to stay with girlfriend and her Mum and Stepdad. So will not be here for his birthday on Sunday. He will be back on Monday.
His girlfriends family were a bit miffed when she spent her 21st with us in September,so I think they want him now for his birthday.lolol.It doesn't bother me ,he will be 25 !!! I can't believe it.

My crackling isn't crackling.James has now told me he likes crackling !!!!
If I cut of the fat when the meat is cooked and shove it back in on high when I do the roast potatoes will it crisp up then??

Frank ye sit was on Quest but it was the last thing on there so you probably missed it. It was a chap on a narrow boat that he did up and he went through the tunnel. Apparently it is quite a long tunnel. They were saying that it was the second tunnel as the first one the ground was'nt suitable so they built a new one I think in 1873?? Would that be right.

Liz I had a little of my food cupboard out the other day as I could'nt find what I wanted and the lot fell out on the floor!! I just left it and went back to pc and OH came out and asked what had happened??????? I threw away a tin of black olives with a date of 1999 on them!!!!!!

Jane yes you are supposed to turn the whole joint over a couple of times as this allows all the fat to come out.

Meat pie for us tonight homemade but noyt the pastry as I can't be bothered now so will get it out the freezer. The pastry I mean. Meats cooking away and smells lovely with carrot and onions.

Who are you calling a silly billy Frank !!!.Not me surely .
So what will you be eating while Ros is away?Something simple or have you things already prepared that you can bung in the oven.

HOME ALONE. Ros had a phone call from the hospital, to ask her to call in to have a MRSA swab. So she left at 1.45. to call in on her way up to Conrad's. I am expecting a phone call to say she's arrived. If not I will ring a bit later.

Jane I think you are suppose to turn it OVER every half hour. Turning it around won't make any difference to it's cooking silly billy !!!!

Liz, It's tomorrow morning that Ros has the injection. Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts.

I threw out a load of old pots of spices a week or so ago. I think I mentioned it before. but I forget. Some were 1996/1999. Those baby sprouts cost a bomb in Tesc#. They are a bit fiddly, but are worth the effort, so sweet and tasty. I love them.

I was very lucky when my Mum moved into residential care as she was a very tidy and uncluttered person. All her paperwork was in a filing box.I had power POA and just brought it all home with me.Her bungalow was quite straight forward to sort out too.I did have my Sister to help so it was a doddle lol
The worst bit was shutting up the house knowing we would never go back again. Also we had no more family connections in Plymouth .It felt very strange.
We sat in the car and had a few tears before driving away.

This pork smells handsome. The only thing is there is never much meat on Belly Pork, and no-one eats the crackling. The birds will be lucky lol

Jane, I've no idea! I'd do both if I were you, just to be on the safe side!!! Frank, I hope today has gone well for Ros, Oh dear, you two do seem a bit in the wars, I do hope things improve. OH has just brought some Brussell Sprouts in from the Garden, well, if I said that they were the size of large peas, you will understand that they haven't exactly done very well!!! still, waste not want not, as my old Granny used to say!!!

LOL Liz I'm glad I'm not the only one who has things years out of date. You realise I shall have to have a shufty through my cupboards now !! Well not right this minute but soon.I did have a go not so long ago but I'm sure there are more things that really should be long gone.

Frank has Ros gone now?

I have a piece of Belly Pork in the oven.It needs to cook for 2and a half hours. It says to turn every 30 minutes but does that mean Turn it over or Turn it round????? Anyone know?

Well I'm completely knackered! Larder does look a lot better and emptier, I've chucked stuff out that was labled best before Dec 2006!!! not before time!!! Mel, if it's any help, I got in SUCH a muddle with my Father's affairs, and, like you forgot what I wanted to ask, probably because I didn't really understand what I was asking!!!!! I used to write down whatever it was, and that seemed to work!!! mind you, for me.finding things wasn't too bad as my father was a VERY methodical man and as he had terminal cancer he used the time to get ALL his paperwork up together. He had a Workshop, and all his 'scews and nails' and those sort of things were kept in old tobacco tins, neatly labled! tools neatly put away after use. When OH (who is NOT methodical) took charge of all these things , I remember thinking after a few weeks that my Father would turn in his grave if he could see the untidy workshop, all the tools muddled up etc!!! Still, at least it all went to a 'Good Home' with OH!!!

They make me cross because they want copies of this and that to take to here and there and I get in a right muddle. Asked the solicitor to ring me back yesterday and said I would be out for 20 mins doing chickens and then she did'nt ring last night but this morning and I could'nt remember what I wanted to ask her at first!!!!!!!Lol.

Morning All,

Glad the heatings back to normal Frank, mind you you have saved on washing in your shorts and bare chest. lol I agree with you about the noise in cinemas.....far, far too loud. I stuff paper tissue in my ears which helps. OH doesn't seem to notice it, but I think years of footie matches and all that shouting may have made him a bit deaf......often doesn't hear me when I shout him, not sure if that's intentional though!!! Good thing is he can't chat while the film's on like he does at home at times!!! I never went to cinema for many, many years either.......couldn't stand the smoke making my eyes run and it got expensive. OH got me back into it as he likes the big screen atmosphere. I will only go in the daytime when we almost have the cinema to ourselves and there is no crunching of popcorn. lol I sound a right misery don't I!! lol We even take our own bottles of water in the summer.......well you should see the prices!!

OH has had no washers on his car the past few days and has found the fuse has blown and has gone to get a new one.

I spent my working life doing paperwork Mel, still hate doing it at home!!

11.33am

All sorted, the plumber call about 5.30 last night reset the thingy in the loft, reset the timer and stat, I still stayed in my shorts till bedtime. This morning the heating went off with the timer, and Ros came out of the shower and complained that she was cold, and put the heating back on !!!

Like most of you, I haven't been to the cinema for ages. Since my stroke my brain can't stand the noise. from all the loud music, I think I should like to turn the sound down with a control. But most people like loud music, so what can I do. I have tried ear plugs, but then are everlasting putting them in and taking them out. and I feel a right idiot !!! NO COMMENT" thanks.

Seems strange not having to go down to the girls this morning, but will get use to it.

Glad Shirl popped in yesterday. I did send all your love and regards, when we spoke.

Mandy, I think it has gone up from 6d, a 1/- maybe!!! Have just ordered pill on line and the Medical Centre has altered the layout of ordering if you see what I mean, so I hope I've done it properly! trouble is, the moment you suss something out it promptly gets altered!!! I don't envy you Mel, with all the paperwork concerning your Mum, I can remember it taking AGES to sort everything out, and nearly a year before it was finalised, what with probate and one thing and another, it can be pretty stressful; we will be here to try and offer what cheer we can, help to if needed. I would like to add to your 'saying,' I've a fridge magnet which says, 'Friends are like flowers, they brighten your day', ain't that the truth?!!!! Am now going to clean out the Larder as it is FILTHY!!

Morning All,

Was busy yesterday sorting more stuff for mums estate!! Why are there so many papers to fill out??

Sheila thats a nice gesture to insure April's pony for them. Liz uses the NFU and OH uses that for his car insurance. We are thinking of using it for the house insurance too as mum had it with Castle Cover. Have that to sort out yet as it runs out this month.

David I would have said to look on the ER's. You know who lived there so it should'nt be that hard for someone to find for you.

Frank love and wishes for Ros and keep yourself safe while she is away PLEASE! No going up for those lights, let someone else do it for you.

So nice to see Shirl pop in. Always welcome for a chat.

Ann I have'nt been to the cinema for years and years.

Have just found a piece of paper with a little saying on it. I don't know where it came from but it is rather nice and thought I would post what it says.

"Friendship is a rainbow between two people"
