I just managed to find the previous page, My life is not colourful at all really Liz .I wish it was more normal. What with a batty essentric friend and a deaf aunty who drops a hint everytime she comes she wants to live with me. I would not mind but she is not related just someone I have known since childhood and called aunty.
Beryl is crazy when drunk and I was a bit cross Beanie gave her that Burbon we offered to buy it off him it was a unwanted birthday gift The neighbours were really very cross and she had some complaints.
Donnie is sweet he is decorating her hall.
I would love to live in Stratford ,and have horse and cart like you Liz .It was
great taking Annies neighbours horse and cart out we were told we needed L plates by a rude farmer. But we did have fun that day and Annie bless her is lovely .She is in South Africa helping out on a farm
with some very unusual animals.I am awaiting some pictures. However I did think she was in Iceland maybe she changed her mind.

This Skype is very good I take it you have a ear piece and talk to people
is that the one.
Just read Franks message on Shirl. I am glad the funeral was fun a bit like Matts I thought that funeral strange but thinking about it was just Matt
but I wish he had been buried closer it is such a long way for the family to go and because it open land when Jessie does go there is always some farmer querying her being there. They watch her and she gets upset.
Sorry Frank is in pain I know the feeling my leg feels like its about to drop off. Then yesterday I cut my hand on the microwave clip on the door that shuts it I was in tears saying to my ho I am fed up nothing goes right for me in this house he said thats a shame because someones broke into next doors house and they are expecting the police can you keep your eyes peeled for them. I said they can keep there own eyes peeled I am
going out and out I went to see a art exhib of Turners paintings not very impressed at all they were boring. With respect to the gentleman I am sure
they chose the wrong paintings all very grey and black scenesI had a lecture from a very funny man he was wearing a placard with Turner is here on it and some kids were mocking him say Where is Turner mate
cannot see him around.

I today I had a bath and found I could not get out I forgot my leg was hurting
standing up to get out ther bath it went and I had to shout for my ho and said dont look and he said I have to you silly women he then charged towards me with a huge bath towel and nearly fell in the bath himself.
Muttering something rude he disapeared. My leg didnt go anywhere

The cheeky chappie who gave Mohsen is paper to stay said dont abuse
it mate .Mohsen said I have just handed you £1200 pound and that is all you can say Michelle kicked him under the table and said outside he could have changed his mind stupid.I had a giggle .Giggling gets me through my strange life. Some of the customers are so weird. I said to one happy new year and he said No such thing whats a matter with you.

Mel I have fairy picture to send you I bought at a fete but waited until the post got better will send it .At least I got a goodnights sleep last night aunty went I said I will send you some money for your birthday guess what she heard that bless her.

Afternoon all,
Been dry this morning ,but we have rain now and its really cold .

Got some of my ironing done this morning the rest will have to wait .

David did you mean 1844 and 1848 ? maybe if you give us some names and dates we can help you .

Liz, i have some nice smelly cheese to go with the fish heads lol
What you need to do is freeze some fishy water and put in ice cube tray ,then post them through the door at regular intervals, they'll melt leave a nasty fishy smell ,time they come home it will have dried and they'll never know what caused the smell .
Can you still buy stink bombs?? they might work.

2.47pm

Still in shorts, be glad when plumber turns up. get back to normal.

Thanks for your card Jane. very nice of you.

I got Shirls B'day card about 10 minutes ago. With a packet of FREEZER JAM MIX. Will have to try it. Mix fruit and sugar, sprinkle this gel on it, stir and put into jars, can keep in fridge for six weeks or in freezer for upto one year. Only available in Canada by the looks of it. Will have to Google it.!!!

That insurance seems expensive Liz, I search the Internet every year for car and house insurance. Always seem to save a few quid every year.

Doing a Sheep Sh## pie tonight. with carrot and parsnip mash, cabbage and runner beans. should have enough for tomorrow when Ros goes to Rutland. I'll have a nice quite evening, and watch what I want on Tele, or even read my E book. See how the mood takes me.!!!

Mel, When I put my glass's on the bedside table at night, I always fumble around for them if it's dark the next morning. IT'S CALLED OLD AGE !!!!

\just back from South Molton and the NFU who were sympathetic and told us that Insurance premiums have shot up this/last year!! Managed to get another 10% off the bill as we do ALL out insurance through them, so have left things as they are. The 'death of animal' payment means that not only can we claim for Millies death (God forbid!) but if she is ill, and that same illness flairs up again in X weeks time, we can still claim for it (if you see what I mean) as ongoing, whereas if we don't have this 'bit' we wouldn't be able to claim for same thing that reoccurs. Well there you go, I can't put her well being at risk, so 'The Workhouse' it is!!! Fried Spud ready, TOMORROW is the start of diet regime!!!

11.51am.

Morning all,

Ros is still busy putting decorations away, I have been in and out of the garage with plastic box's with the tree all packed away, now it's all the balls and bits and pieces, Then we have to get the lights down of the guttering, and the trees. ##

Still in shorts, the boiler wouldn't shut down again last night, I turned down all tha radiators but still very warm. The plumber is coming this evening to re-set the stat with the box thing in the loft. then we should be allright.

Mel, I didn't realy want to let the girls go, but the way my back has been, it's the right decission. It takes me ages to walk upright after being in there doing the coup. changing the sawdust/shavings. I feel it's just getting the better of me. and there is no point in upsetting my body over a couple of BIRDS !!!! (feathered ones JANE)

Very cold wind out there at present, it's also starting to rain. So it's goiung to be B #### misserable. ## The lights can wait.

David, I would have thought you would need the peoples name, to get at any records. But, Mel, might know different. !!!!

LIZ, Fish heads on the way !!!!

Morning all
Glad your SIL can stay in this country Sheila, it must be a big relief to all of you.

Took my decorations down yesterday, what a lot of dust too. , have put up some coloured ribbon for my Sympathy cards, as I want to hang them on the wall so Sofia won't get her hands on them

Glad the service went Ok for Shirl. I expect the next few weeks will be long for having to adjust without her OH.

Everything is back to normal in town today, all the shops are open, went to the staionary's this morning to arrange dad's order of service. also undertakers to sort out flowers.

Jane , I have PM you

Bitterly cold and icy underfoot.

Liz I had new lens put in my old frames and then the second time I had them put in my sunglasses which I had'nt really used. They were the same as the everyday glasses, those ones that only have a bridge and side pieces. Trouble with them is if I take them off I can't find them!!! I always have to leave them in the same place at night, on the bathroom windowsill.

11.20am.

Had our 'House Insurance' bill this am. It's gone up by £235 !!! Have seen that we have 'loss of animal' cover on it, last year that was £80 this year £182!! We're going into the NFU to cancel that, and just have vets fees cover, if Millie died, I don't want any money for her, and Merlin has his own Insurance, so that should cut it down to size a bit! Good thinking David, but OH is using his old glasses as a second pair in case! so will have to have new frames, just have to grin and bear it! Everything seems expense at the moment, and if you run out of money, there isn't even the Workhouse to go to any more!!!!

Morning All,

Dull and mizzly here today.

I was busy taking down the decs and cards yesterday and did'nt get back on here.

So pleased Shirl could still have a joke after the service. Thats the best way to be as it is really a celebration of life after all. Lots of wishes passed on to our Shirl.

Frank I am sorry you had to let the girls go but know what you mean about getting down to them to clean them out. Mine are in biggish houses but you still can't stand up straight whnen in them and when I get out I can't stand up straight for a minuet or two!! My little banty house is the best as I do it from the nest boxes as they are up off the ground. One of these houses would have been great for your two girls.

I must admit we did'nt seem to have much dust this year on the decs on the tree. The tree looked a little sad though and I hope it will survive. Like Jane ours is now out on the patio outside the back door. Will find somewhere for it later on. Hope it will be ok for next year.

11.16am.

Morning All,
David I have no idea if you can find that info out.One of us may know.Or you could put up a thread on General asking there.
I need to make an appointment with my optician.I don't know that I will need new lenses but I really need new frames as mine are heavy and make the corners of my eyes/top of nose ache.

There is a keen wind this morning ,fairly bright ,but an odd looking sky.

I want to find the occupants of a specific address in 1944,and 1948
Can this be done?

David

David Report 5 Jan 2011 08:22

If your husband asks for the opticians new prescription to which he is entitled there are dispensers will fit them in the frames he already has at a third of that price.
