You've been a bit of hot stuff today then Frank. lol I'm still laughing about those slippers.....glad the shop still had another pair like them! It's good you found a good home for 'the girls'. You will miss their eggs in the summer. Thanks for letting us know about Shirl.....look forward to hearing from her.

Our decs and tree are all down now and packed away in the loft. I usually dust the ornaments before they go away, but some were packed before I remembered, so they'll get done next year like your tree Mandy. Afterwards we flopped down on the settee and then spotted it.........a basket of winter berries and foliage we had forgotten to pack away!! That will have to go up with the socks when I've finished the second one. Everywhere was dusty and glittery after, but we decided to nip out for a pub meal and will clean up tomorrow. The bin men came today, last visit was before xmas so everyone's bins were crammed full. Feels like we are getting straight again now!!

Liz, I bet you are so chuffed now your neighbours are away!! Things must be strained between you......be nice to have a break from them being there.

OH came home from footie yesterday with a bag of birdseed MIL had given him when he dropped FIL off. She told him it was NO GOOD as it was for Robins and Finches and the other birds wouldn't eat it!!!!! lol

We just watched a Marple I'd recorded.......very good. We have also started watching the new Michael Portillo railway series......brilliant!!

Just had a call from the plumber. He said have you changes the batteries in the STAT. I didn't know it had any. He talked me through it. Still showing 26 degrees, but I have reduced it to 17 now will wait to see if it cools down.
I made Conrad and Jan laugh when I said I was in shorts and bare chest.With this heat it will certainly cut down on my washing. But will needs 3/4 showers a day to keep clean.!!!

What time is the party then Liz, What do you want us to bring ?????

Jane, you should have seen the dust on my tree, as i put it in the box hubby said did you see the dust blow up from that ,i said oh i carn't be bothered with it now i'll give it a good shake before it goes up next year ......no this year lol

How is Furnace Frank?? Still boiling away?.How weird that you can't actually turn off the heating.I have never heard of that happening.

All my decorations are down now ,the tree is out on the patio waiting for Chris to do whatever with it.I sneezed and sneezed while I was doing it all.Must be all that dust.The needles on the tree have been amazing .There were only about half a dozen or so on the floor after I took everything off it ,and that was because I was pulling and being a little rough.
Chris can put the decorations up in the loft when he has some time.I will not go up there.
It was nice having people here over Christmas staying or just visiting but by gum it is tiring especially when I'm used to it being just us.I am pleased to be just about back to normal lol

Have just spent twenty minutes on SKYPE to Shirl. Everything went of well, All dressed in Red casual, thats what NORM wanted. They had a good laugh and joked a lot. Someone stayed at the house to let them in on their return from the service. When Mark (her son) knocked on the door. He was asked where his Mum was. He said she's in the car with DAD on her lap. When they went in doors, someone asked what do we do with NORM. Shirl said put him on the bed !!!We'll know where he is. She seems in good spirit, and thaks all of you for your Emails and kind wishes. She will try to sit down and answer you all, in due course.

Still sitting bare chested, in shorts. phew it's warm, no, Liz never did get that Email. My back isn't much better today but only had 6 pain killers so far today.


Have parted with the chickens today, I was finding it harder to get down to clean them out. also relying on other people when we went away. A couple just round the corner lost two (died) recentley. So they came round this afternoon and took them. I will bag up the pellets, corn, grit ,bowles and dishes and drop them round some time soon. I will then gradually get the garden back into some sort of order where they were.

Neighbours have gone, hooray!!!! won't be back for 2 1/2 months, life looks up! OH has got to have new specs, £180!!! still it's the first time for three years, so can't really grumble. Frank I just hope that Plumber comes soon and sorts out your heating, else if people see you in shirt sleeves, they might think you have become ' a little crazy'!! Gosh Sheila you do have a colourful life, mines very dull by comparison! At least your S.I.L can stay here, so that's some good news. Frank, did that posting get through to you? I rather feel that it didn't as other people have said they couldn't see it either, pity, it was really amusing! not to worry, I'll find another!! It's very black outside, about to rain I should think, time for a cuppa!

But at least you had good news about Mos being allowed to stay here .

Been to the tip this afternoon ,got rid of the Christmas tree and some paper and cardboard that son had ,it was nice to have a ride out even if it was only to the tip!!! lol

More cold pork for tea !! must stop buying these big joints they last for ever .
Hubby's back to work tomorrow , and i think i will be ironing all day ,you should see the pile i've got to do, and there's only the two of us too!!

Hi everyone thank you for hoping my leg would be better Jane do appreciate that . I had to have injection and it still hurts me I have Quinine
for the cramp but this is something else but a little problem a lot of people are sad my friends dads just died also but he was ninety five. My special thoughts are with Shirl and her family. Also Fiona.

My son in law got his right to stay in this country today they had to wait three hours and he must pay another 200 pound to become a proper
countryman poor Mos he works so many hours in the cold garage and such a fuss about him staying here. At least they can plan ahead now.
Beryls head shaking is nerves and the doctor at the hospital today gave her Beta Blockers to control it. I was glad she did not have a more serious illness. Today she got drunk on Berbon Beanie gave her and was out dancing and singing Oh what a beautiful morning on her front lawn.
I think she caused a lot of agro with her neighbours they do not have seperate gardens just a big piece of grass and this was about 7.30 am
My deaf auntie came to stay with me for the night and Beryl was round last night she said to auntie nice to have met you and auntie answered No you have not upset me. Beryl said no but I am about to do that so I shoved her out the door and my ho took her home.

Auntie slept with me and all night long she was going ooh ar ooh ar in the end I elbowed her and had to leave the room it drove me mad. I got into in a single bed with my hubby he snored so loud I went down stairs had a cup of tea and slept on the floor with the dogs but both of them were snoring. Aunties banned from the house I like my bed and she would not
sleep anywhere else I did drop off for a while on the setee.

I do think its a bad start to this year so far and I am hoping it will improve
for everyone. I had a phone call from April saying not to forget Sheeps birthday and mummie smacked Rashers because he came indoors and ate the fringing off an old setee she bought from a market . I have seen that setee its bright pink a two seater with long fringing. Very cute.
I hope your colds gone now Jane and that James and Chris are better.
The rubbish is now gone except for the recycled stuff what people put out
for recycling I saw a bike frame I bet that is left.

Mel, I have rung the Plumber that looks after the boiler. Told him to give me a ring when he's got time to come and look at it. If he dosen't ring today I will ring again. The good thing is I was burning the gas fire and fan heaters. now it's only the boiler, and I can turn the rads down a bit. Still it's better to be to hot than to cold.

I'm just going to try Shirl, It's 8am there so she should be up, NO I will leave it a while in case she's having a lie in.

We really need to order some more oil now the snow has gone. They rang and asked us if we wanted a topup before Christmas but we had all the snow at that time.
Just going to get lunch now as I have'nt had anything today yet!! OH had a huge bowl of Shreddies knitted by nannies.

Here I sit in shorts and bare chest. (LIKE SUMMER) The young neighbour called yesterday to wish us Happy new year. He said whats up with heating. I told him the saga, He went in the loft, fiddled with a wirless thingyme bob,and the heating came on. The only trouble now is "YOU CAN't TURN IT OFF" it's about 26 degrees in the bungalow. day and night. !!! I wn't need to slim, it will fall off me. If anyone looks in and sees me they will think i'm off my rocker.!!! The cat is even lying on the window sill trying to cool down.

Ros took the slippers back yesterday, only to be told I don't think we can do much about it. Oh she said. I'm not leaving the shop without satisfaction. The manageress came over and said "wait a mo" came back with the same pair of missmatched slippers from under the counter. Ros choose the pair she wanten and left.

Didn't get back to Shirl. yesterday. I thought she would want time with the family. Will try later.

I took 14 pain killers yesterday, and managed a very dreamy night sleep. I've only had 4 today so far today. Will get in touch with the Dr. if it persists.

Ros is off to Rutland on Thursday. Then Jan will take her to Woodlands Hospital for 6.30am Friday. The neural surgeon will inject her back. She won't be able to drive for a couple of days, so will stay in Rutland. I will stay here to look after cat etc. Won't trust the neighbour. !!!! Just hope he can do something as she is in constant pain.

Will start getting the deco. down today. As I won't be much good to her.

We had the sprinkling of snow last night, all gone now.

Just done the dustbins. Hope they come today as we have had the rubbish here since before Christmas as they did'nt come in that snow.

Dull and dreary here but we have'nt got the heating on yet!!

A little bit of snow on the ground,and the Bird bath is frozen once again !!

I have just cancelled my appointment at the Dental Hygienist as there is no way I could lie back in that chair for half an hour without coughing and spluttering.

Frank I hope your aches and pains are easier today.I take it you will keep those feet of yours on Terra Firma lol

And Sheila I hope your leg is easier today.

Just going to have a cuppa and toast before I crack on with things.

Frank I too could'nt sleep last night. Why does it always happen when it happens to you too.

Well I am still trying to get my head around Silent Witness !!!.Maybe I am just tired or maybe it is a little confusing.Liz what do you think ?
It is snowing again ,not a lot but there is a covering on the lawn and the patio table.
I am off to bed now and dreading the 5.30 alarm!!
