Liz take a look it's happening now.

You do make me laugh, that wretched woman!!!! When I first asked for help I didn't realise that you were supposed to hang onto the threads. I used to copy the answers into an exercise book for future reference and delete the thread, until I got well told off, (as I'm sure you remember!) and I haven't asked for any help since!! I don't think any of us do things to be deliberately annoying, it's always, well 9 times out of 10, just a misunderstanding, which, if you're helper surely up to a point, you have to expect annoying though it might be, and surely you can tell people without being rude and unpleasant to the point where it puts people off asking any more! Oh well! everyone is different I suppose! At least we know when Arthur died!!

I have made a b*lls up!!!!!! I went and put it on the TTF boards and put John's year of birth instead of Jane's. One person answered but nothing since. Also when you go back from the TTF board you get Janey's replies about the time you put the thread up. I think it is putting people off from helping as she was quite harsh to a beginer!

Well!! If you feel you can bear it, might bring up something interesting! Not if you can't face it though!!! I think this woman has turned into a 'nemesis' for both of us!!!

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 2 Jan 2011 15:41

Well Liz do that as I can still see your tree.

LilyL

LilyL Report 2 Jan 2011 15:39

Mel, thank you SO much you are clever and kind. I should think that the 1938 marriage at Lambeth is him bearing in mind where he lived. I can now add his death to my tree!!

LilyL

LilyL Report 2 Jan 2011 15:35

Yes Jane that's the place! blooming elusive people they've turned out to be! Mel's the expert on them!!! trouble is that 'Lane' is such 'common' name that it's easy to get the wrong ones!!! If Arthur has to stay a mystery so be it, A year ago I didn't even know that he existed, never mind who he married!!! Millie hassling for her dinner!!!

Jane

Jane Report 2 Jan 2011 15:02

Mel I liked Larkrise, but I did find it a bit slow and quiet.I felt like they all needed a boot up the backside to put some life into them all lol.
I will watch it though.

Good tracing paper that old loo paper though wasn't it .That was the only good thing about it.

OH has uploaded some CD's,so I can now listen to music while I type!!!
Need some help Guys!! I have a rellie (?!!) one Arthur Maxwell Lane who was born in Long Ashton, in 1906/7 parents Arthur Lane 1882-1953 and Ethel Richards 1883 -? I'm trying to find out when Arthur M married and to whom. I have two contestants: either Blanche E Keen at Stow-on-theWold in 1933 OR Margaret J Coppin at Lambeth in Dec 1938. Thing is neither of these marriages give a middle name, just Arthur M, so can't tell which is which!!! I would ask on Genes, but I haven't kept the thread, which as we all know makes them SO ratty you don't like to ask!!! Any ideas?Just wondered?! Yes Mel, Jane Restall was Arthur M's Gt Grandmother!!!!!!! don't let that put you off!!!

Or Bronco rolls which we had. Very shiny one side and like greaseproof paper the other!

It is ever so cold here and we have had another sleety snow shower but nothing that has settled at all.

The garden birds are really hungry today too.

When is Larkrise coming on the telly. I thought it was today but OH could'nt find it to tape it for me.

Jane Report 2 Jan 2011 14:10

Mandy it is a funny sky here now.It is a funny old day weather wise.It doesn't seem to know what it wants to do.It isn't too warm now either.Do I light the fire or not?I need to clean it out and lay it first ...........so maybe I'll leave it lol.I can't be bothered really and all the sooty stuff will set me off coughing.

Tes** was heaving and looking at peoples trolleys ,a lot of people were buying loo rolls like me .There didn't seem to be a huge amount of them on the shelves so maybe there is a run on them !

Talking of loo paper ,I remember when I was a little girl when soft toilet paper arrived and in our house it was bye bye Izol (or whatever it was called) and Hello Andr** lol
