Mandy it is a funny sky here now.It is a funny old day weather wise.It doesn't seem to know what it wants to do.It isn't too warm now either.Do I light the fire or not?I need to clean it out and lay it first ...........so maybe I'll leave it lol.I can't be bothered really and all the sooty stuff will set me off coughing.

Tes** was heaving and looking at peoples trolleys ,a lot of people were buying loo rolls like me .There didn't seem to be a huge amount of them on the shelves so maybe there is a run on them !

Talking of loo paper ,I remember when I was a little girl when soft toilet paper arrived and in our house it was bye bye Izol (or whatever it was called) and Hello Andr** lol

Afternoon all,

Not a bad day here today ,little bit of sun now and again and there's bits of blue sky !!!
So Liz and Mel you've had snow ? they did say we might have a flurry on our coast .

Glad your finding ways of keeping warm Frank , is that why you had an early night lol

We went to Morris*ns this morning for a few bits and pieces ,DIL went to Tesc*s yesterday and she got me a lovely piece of Gammon ,it was half price £6 instead of £12, and they had a good date on them , so that's gone in the freezer ,will get it out one day when the family come for tea .

This laptop keeps making a funny noise now and again , like some one plucking a guitar string !!!!

I know you you mean Mel about thinking this is Monday !!! when i wake up it takes me a minute or two to think what day it is !!! i have to think what i did yesterday to work it out lol

Snowing here this am!! but not settling, not even that cold, just grey and grotty!! have done ironing, hoovered (!!) and generally cleared up. All seems quiet on the family front, so no news etc! Frank, NONE of us ladies have the LEAST idea what you can be talking about on the warming up front!!!!! somebody once, in my dim distant past suggested cold showers, what for I couldn't say, would this help though?!!!!! Enjoy your lunch, talk to you soon.

Morning you lot, Where are you and what are you doing.

We are sat in front on the gas fire, with a fan heater in the dinning room end. We have been invited out to lunch today so will be in a nice warm house. MIGHT OVERSTAY MY WELCOME !!!!! Will go and get into a nice hot shower now. That should warm me up. I can think of other things, but it won't be aloud !!!! Naughty boy I hear to say. All in the mind I reply. lol lol

Ros put the gas fire on this morning, and the cat laid on the hearth about 3 inches from the fire. He's never had a fire to curl up in front of before.

Have tried with the boiler twice more this afternoon, not the boiler as we are getting hot water. When I phone my plumber I will see if he has a spare programmer, as I think thats what it is.

Goodnight all, going for an earliy night with my E book.

I know what you mean, a lovely man, he gives me goosebumps Jane, so get in the queue!! lol I was just reading a Sunday Times article about the vestibular problem (virus) that caused him to cancel his tour last year. He said he had never cancelled a concert before, let alone a tour. Apparently for 3 months he was so dizzy he couldn't stand unaided or read or watch tv. A man in Perth sent him exercises he had used for the same problem and Andre thinks the rest and the exercises got him better. The letter the man had sent was just addressed to Andre Rieu, Maastricht, The Netherlands. The man was tickled pink Andre got it!

The mice in your garage must have been chuffed when they found your stash! lol

Mandy, my OH can never tell when milk is off.......I have looked forward to a cuppa before.....with the same result. lol

TWO THINGS Frank........I'd stay sat down now, or go to bed early, don't want a THIRD. lol Those tiny screws are almost impossible to find aren't they.

Hungry OH back now........better sort tea out.

Jane Report 1 Jan 2011 17:17

After I posted this afternoon, I had my shower and shave. Went to put my glass's on and the LENS fell out. lost the screw that holds it in. Good job I have a spare pair. THATS TWO THINGS TODAY.!!!

I'vs got the stat, calling for heat. 20 degrees, the flame sign is showing but the boiler isn't. We are still getting hot water.

Lis, fancy wishing the day away.!!! i'll be here till past midnight. I was still up at 2am this morning. didn't sleep to well, either.

Jane, You and that cough. Can't Chris give you something stronger, and I don't mean GandT with ice and a slice. When we had the P.O. stores and off licence we sold Sherry by the pint we had measures in pewter. for half or pint. Ros was the sherry queen of the village. She would only drink Harvey's by the scooner I have known her to clear a bottle in a session, Now she dosen't drink at all.

Still got a pile of snow beside the drive, the sun hasn't been out to melt it. !

Jane

Jane Report 1 Jan 2011 16:33

Liz I have no idea where they got the glasses lol Mum sounded so proud when she said about Dad getting them home.My Sister and I just went along with it.I actually think they may be from Belgium.Don't ask me why ,but somewhere in the back of my mind Belgium rings a bell.I think maybe I should take one of the glasses to someone who knows about glass and maybe I will get an answer.
I could write a book about all the things that my lovely Mum came out with when she wasn't herself.Nothing was true, but it did make us laugh.

Been watching a film on the pooter!!! 'A centuryof Warfare'! so not very cheerful!! but at least I can DO it!!! Went to sleep through some of it but the old film was interesting (what I saw of it!!) Oh Jane! your poor Mum, goodness knows what goes through peoples minds when they get confused; it must be so horrid and frightening. I'm sure your Dad 'rescued' the glasses not 'took'!!!!!!! Ann, Why is it always OUR fault if our OH's knock something and cause a spill, and NEVER theirs the other way round?!!! that's male logic for you!! It was the rotating brush that had gone wrong on the Dyson, they certainly are quite ferocious, I'd forgotten how much!!! Really dark and dismal here, glad when it'sbedtime!!
