Morning Frank and All,
It has turned much milder here too and we have that horrid mizzle. There is only a few piles of melting snow where we had cleared it to get the car out. Everywhere looks dull and dingy now after the lovely white outside.
We had cold turkey and rosti last night with lots of pickles and that is the end of the bird. Still have a bit of ham left and I did'nt cook the beef so we will have that for the new year.
I did'nt know it was free to look things up over the holidays! Is that on here? and does it include the 1911 census?

M O R N I N G A L L,
Damp misty morning here, snow is melting in the gargen,so roads should be o k.
The SARGA continues, my neighbough rang to say he didn't think my heating was working. (I'd turned it down to 15 degrees just to let it tick over) he thought he would increase the heat a little "FOR THE CAT" FIVE PHONES CALLS LATER> HE still hadn't worked out how the timer worked. I said leave it alone I will sort it when I get home (FRIDAY) I bet I will had the bungalow like a freezer or an OVEN. joys of going away.!!!!! Should have put down a weeks supple of food for the cat when we left. He would have survived. and without all this hazzle.
Have offered to send the girls out fot the day with £200.00 shopping money, for themselves Jans daughter is off to visit her FATHER in BEDFORDSHIRE for the day. and is arranging to bring Lewis back up here when she comes home. We will take him home with us Friday. (WE WOULD HAVE RUN OUT OF TABLETS BY THEN).Not sure when his M & D are collecting him. Are you all over the Christmas spirit now, and looking forward to NEW YEAR.

Evening All,
We were up early and off to get the new telly this morning. I was right.....free 5 year warranty is only given if you call in the store!! An old boy shopping there asked us all about it and while I was waiting for OH to bring the car as close as he could to the shop I noticed the old chap was counting out his £20 notes buying the same one too, ........glad I found him a bargain as well! lol
We got OH an xmas pud at the supermarket this morning......half price!! As we never eat one on Christmas day anyway, we have decided next year we'll have the half price ones again after Christmas!! lol Well someone's got to eat them all up.
Frank, that neighbour of yours is a liability isn't he. Talk about bull in a china shop......he must come round after he's been on the ale I should think!! Look forward to seeing your pic of the snowman with sprout eyes!
Mandy, we will all be looking up our ancestors on New Year's eve. Same as you I'm noting down what I want to look for.......can do more searches in the time then. I've told OH he will be BANNED from interrupting me!! I have finished the sock, just enough wool, so I will need more if I do another. I have been nodding off in the evening too.....it's all the food I think!
I'm beginning to fancy beans or poached egg on toast now......fed up with all the rich stuff but there's more still to eat......turkey, ham, cakes, biscuits....
Glad your snow is going Liz........you had much more than us so I bet you will be glad to see the back of it now.
Off to watch Upstairs Downstairs again at 9.00pm. It isn't as good as Downton Abbey so I bet I'll be zedding before the end. lol Night, night.xx
Hope David got his heating fixed today.

2.47pm. Can't load my E book. Left the leads at home.
Conrad has built a snowman, brussels for eyes, carrot for nose, twigs for arms and mouth, and a upside down hanging basket for a hat. Will try to download and send later.
I see you are all quite, sleeping off your lunch. Might see you later.

12.05pm. Better pop in in case you think I've done a runner !!!!
All quite on the western front as they say.
We have a smashing time yesterday, more food than we needed and plenty of beer and red. We got home about 11pm. so didn't bother posting then. All showered and shaved. sitting in the conservatory, watching the ice/snow sliding off the tiles of the house, almost feels like summer today !!!!
No 1 son reported back yesterday, the neighbour had not only knocked Ros's christmas display off the pourch table. HE KNOCKED OVER a pot with a plant in that had water in the bottom. That went over the extention lead that held the plugs to the outside lights. Thats what blew the fuses. He didn't think to unplug the socket, in the wall. JUST KEEPT TRYING THE TRIP SWITCH. could have blown the "bloody doors off" ( the itialian job) Once Harvey got there he unpluged the socket and tried the trip switch and all was O.K. ( I'll have to find someone else to look after the cat) Every time we leave him in charge, there is an accident. He has broken and thown away a £45.00 dish.from the pourch, broken dishes in the kitchen, giving the cat some milk.triped ovev and trodden down an ornimental bush in the garden.
Trust you all have a nice quite day today, we are bumming arour today. Turkey and Ham for lunch. Roast Pork tonight for dinner.(Will be a fat as a PIG)
Conrad is going to load books on my Sony E reader. That will give me another years reading I have about 5 years already.

(never quite sure what she meant! too much excitement I suppose!) Off out now! big excitement!!!! B.F.N

Morning All,
I suppose it is going to be eally quiet on here today with you all off somewhere.
It has turned warmer here and the snow is at last melting and I can see some grass showing through it.
Yesterday about 4pm I turned the tap on to fill the water jug and nothing much was coming out. Told OH and he went outside and the tap on the left of the front door had frozen and pushed the plastic pipe out. Water was streaming out and it is the first thing off the main!! As it was plastic pipe OH could'nt do the normal thing of folding the pipe in half to stop the water spraying up the bathroom wall. I was going up to the bantams and he asked me to find a piece of dowling we have up there. I fought my way through the old stable to where I thought I had last seen some of this. It was darkish in there as the ivy has grown over the windows. There was'nt any there!!! Went into the potting sheds and found two pieces in there but when I got back down the garden he said he had done it and hope it holds.
He had put a piece of the driftwood I picked up on the beach in the summer, in it and it was a perfect fit. Before he had moaned about me bringing more JUNK home but he was glad of my JUNK when it came to the burst pipe!!!!
There was no frost on the cars last night either so thought the snow would be melting today.
