Mandy, that is just how my OH is......but all the time..... now he is here most of the time.....always thinking about something to eat or drink!! lol It was good having him here this morning though, he got up, cleared the car and took me to the hospital. He went to read his book this evening and fell asleep. lol

They were selling boxed CD sets, 2 for £8 at Sain*bury's today and I found a Motown one and one of the Who so they should be good and I'll be reliving my past over xmas, bopping about like Jane. lol

All I can say David is that things can only get better! Things should hopefully pick up after xmas.

Your quotas of veg sound just fine for me Frank.....can I book a place!!!! lol I put any veg leftovers with soup or in an omelette.

Liz, I hope you get a bit of peace while your neighbours are away!! What a pain they are!!

Jane, our local paper headlines are about flu sweeping the county. I hope you don't catch it for xmas.......put a mask on him!!!!

I think I shall get my xmas veg from the farm shop next week.....no big queues there and sometimes cheaper than the supermarket. I did some bread sauce this afternoon and froze it.

Between us this afternoon we cleared the food cupboards and got rid of out of date stuff, then we cleared and sorted the indoor f/freezer and the freezer in the garage and put the xmas stuff all in the indoor one. Plenty of room now for the xmas stuff and any leftovers over xmas. I did a little table centre out of cream roses and burgundy carnations and went in the garden for some greenery. Got outside and remembered we'd dug most things up last summer! lol The gravel was frozen solid and all I found that wasn't covered in frozen snow was a bit of Holly. I might go round the lanes tomorrow to find a bit of conifer!!

He is going to drive me nuts with the sniffing and saying Oh dear dear ! lol.Likes to make the most of it ,like most men!!!!.
I needed petrol ,and the queue was almost out on the road.So I waited until I picked Hannah up and went back.Nearly all the unleaded had gone!!.The girl on the till said she had only been there for half an hour and had already taken £1,000.
No Pasta tonight.I changed my mind.It is sausages, savoury rice, bubble ans squeaky stuff and peas.
It was -5 just now.

Oh David, what a HORRID time you've had! even down to the cat! I love cats and so I don't take the death of a cat lightly Let's hope this year is better, for all of us with problems,(everyone I expect at some time or another!) Don't put ideas into our heads Frank!!! Laura has already suggested 'Dog Poo'though the letter box! not Millies though 'cos of D and A . Too be honest We're flipping tempted, trouble is, they have a cleaning lady (they would!!) who keeps an eye when they're away ,so any fish heads etc would be moved by her. Mark (son) is all for paying some 'Heavys' trouble is it wouldn't alter anything on the boundary front. Yes, that is exactly what Grandparents do, and D's and D.I.L's have to get used to it!! We really can't wait to get closer to ours, I sent Polly one of those e-cards, and she e-mailed me to say how much she liked it! she is SUCH a lovely girl!! well! they BOTH are and Ed, who is, of course a LOVELY boy! must do them one each, so as to be 'fair'!!! OH is shovelling snow, hope he's not being martyred!!!!

Afternoon all

No more snow here over night ,but it was a hard frost ,son had a job like you Ann to open the car doors ,when he took Jake to school .
Hubby and son are both home today ,next week they have inside work ,thank goodness ,its nice having hubby home but ......i don't seem to get anything done !!!! its shall we have a coffee or shall we have tea !!! and then if he's seen some thing on the television he calls me through to look !!
We did go to Tes*o's this morning and i got a few bits ,i thought i'd get my veg from Tes*o's or Morri*ons on Sunday ,i put mine in the shed and they keep fine down there , i also have a spare fridge in the shed which is handy this time of the year as there is never enough room for all the bits.
Cream and other bits i will have to get later in the week ,but i said to hubby we'll walk up and get them the car parks are always chock-a block .

Frank, i always try and count out the veg when you have a lot to cater for ,then add a little extra , there's always some left over ,but i'd rather that then people not having enough !!

Liz , while your neighbours are away stick a for sale sign in their garden !!!
some one might make them a good offer they carn't refuse ,and they'll move before you !!! lol
Lasagne for tea tonight all made just got to stick it in the oven .
Looks very bleak out side now ,better turn my outside Christmas tree lights on .

I was going to say Hello Cheerful Charlie lol.David you must have some happy memories living there.Dare I ask if there has been anyone who has actually turned up to view your house yet?

I thought if felt cold in here just now.The blooming boiler was flashing again !!
It is back on again now.

Frank I never know how much veg to get when it is for a bigger number of people. But I would rather have too much than not enough.
Right time for a cuppa.

Both Ellen's and mine knees are shot.
Next door neighbour had a heart by pass.
Next door neighbours son died of a brain tumour.
Other neighbours daughter lost a breast to Cancer.
Other close neighbour had perforated stomach ulcer.
Another close neighbour's father died of Cancer
And Ellen's cat died.

2.20pm.

The sun is so strong here at the moment. It's warm in the conseratory with the sun on it and the heating on. But as soon as you put your nose outside. JACK FROST bites your nose !!!

Jane, I think we will take a chance with the Veg from Tes#o, It always looks good, and as you say we can store it in the garage. Could not stand the crowd next Wed/Thur. My trouble will be how much to get for 12 adults and two children. What do you think. ??? I thought. 4 quarters of roast two parsnips, 6 brussels, chunck of Cauli, and Broc. help themselves to peas and carrots. Conrad is doing the Turkey and sauces. Afters will take care of themselves. Pudding pies etc. I am the only one who drinks, so will take a bottle of RED or two or three.!!!!!

Liz, You could find out their cabin No. and send a load of rotten fish, etc. as a going away present to the cabin. They might think someone dosen't like them and stay away !!!! I know I would set booby traps around their garden. and post fish heads etc. throught their letter box the day they go. That would be smasking to come home to.!!!!!! Also try blocking their chimney off with an old slate. smoke the bugge#s out. I don't know you and OH hold it all together with them. They wouldn't cross me like that !!!!!

Very difficult to keep your thoughts to yourself, regarding the Grand children. I know. Me being Me. always seem to say things that DIL takes personally, But my concern is for our "LITTLE BOY". He rang last night to say how much he was looking forward to coming up to us on Saturday. We will spoil him as usual, but thats what Grandparents do, isn't it ???

No news is good news, so they say, haven't heard anything today, thank goodness

Afternoon All
Had a easy day so far, woke up with a thick head, sore throat and stuffed up nose. so decided to give the last back class before christmas a miss. don't feel much like jumping and streaching about. at least if I go down with a cold I have pleanty of time to get over it before christmas

I'm going to potter around the house then about 4 (If I feel better, will be in the car) going to dad's care home to hand in a thank you Christmas hamper in to the office, won't be going any where near the old folks,
then back home ,OH wants to go and do a bit of food shopping that we forgot on Wednesday. I think he will go on his own, needs to go to the petrol station aswell to get a full tank in the car

We have had no snow since that little shower yesterday morning ,looks like we might miss it this time round.

I'm off to make a nother shopping list.

Lots and lots of snow this am!! took Millieout at 9am and my goodness dis she ever dash about!! OH's 'lady' has turned up (lame Blackbird!) so he's happy and relieved! Robins have been vaguely squabbling!! and it is BLEAK!! Talked to Laura for ages, Alice and Ed both have colds, Polly tird as she is performing in a Christmas Fantasy of dance and mime at Heathrow!!! for three nights on the trot! far too much for a little girl of 10, but I keep my 'Granny' thoughts to myself as I know what's good for me!!!
OH planning vengence on neighbours! no, seriously we are beginning to get a plan of action together on that front! They (neighbours) are away after Xmas for three months, cruising (!!) they go every year, and this year they are going to Japan, China and several Islands! OH (and I) hope that North Korea kicks off while they're away, and they have to come back through fire and brimstone and have a horrible time!!! tough on other people, but there you go!!! Crikey, you should see this snow!!!! Do hope the news of your sister is more positive Frank.

Please remind me what the HDL is Ann.You are good doing these trials.
The sun is shining and the snow on the roof of the summerhouse is melting fast.I have had to pull the curtains in the lounge as it is so bright.I have left a patch of sun for Chester to lie in!

Frank I bought one of those massive stalks with sprouts on in Tes** the day before yesterday use by 24th Dec.It was only £1 which I thought was a bargain.I am keeping it in the garage as it is freezing in there.
I have just realised we are low on Bread so better nip out and get some in for the weekend.

Morning All,

Very icy here at 7.20am this morning........OH de-iced the car but I just couldn't get the car door open......frozen solid. OH had to get inside and give it a few thumps. I got 1 of the tests done this morning, standing on 2 mirrored plates and had to put each hand on a mirrored plate for a few minutes. They aren't happy with the machine as it did not agree with the blood tests, and hasn't done for quite a few people, but they are just trialling it at the moment. Only 2 more scans to be done now!! My cholesterol is a bit high at 5.6, but they didn't think it needed treatment. Apparently the HDL figure is good.

Clearing all the mess away today and doing a table decoration with cream roses and maroon carnations. MIL and FIL are here for tea on sunday, so I better make an effort. I wonder if there is any greenery in the garden?

Good morning all,

Snow this morning and very cold. Sky looks full of it.

Mel, How come you only sell your wreaths for a £1.00 more to the public than to the shop. What you they charge on top.??? With all that work, I thought you would be able to sell direct to the end user and cut out the middle man.!!

Jane I do eat pasta but mainly as a lunchtime snack. Ros does it with Bacon, mushrooms, onion, with a bit of Hellman#

As I said I am doing all the Veg for Christmas. We must get into the Market to see how fresh they are. I doubt there will be anymore next week. Tesc#s will get them in next week, but you won't know when they were harvested. THIS WEEK NO DOUBT. Could go round the allotments to see if anybody has parsnips and brussels with a bit of frost on them.

We recorded the Variety show last night and watched it at 10pm/12 midnight. good show, some very good up and coming comedians. and the dancers were amazing.

Please be carefull if you are out and about on the roads today NO ACCIDENTS PLEASE !!!
