Stir fried chicken for us tonight with baby sweetcorn mushrooms mange tout egg noodle beansprouts and spicy tomato sauce.

I do miss my own home grown veg though. Still some pots in the tunnel and some carrots and small broccoli plants and leeks but I must get up there and water everything after Christmas.

Had a nice piece of leg of lamb tonight. Just finished, Ros is washing and clearing up tonight.

No doubt about it LIZ, new machine. under the trade discription act "IT MUST BE FIT FOR PURPOSE" that goes for anything you buy. And that ain't!!! If you have any trouble threaten them with TRADING STANDARDS. That usualy does it !!! But I think Dyson are very good with customer relations, lets hope so.

Mel, I often wondered how you put the flowers on the screen, so now I don't need to learn. But what you say is SO TRUE.

Evening all,
Got lots of jobs done today ,including finishing my Christmas Cakes off .
Went to Tes*o's this morning,never seen so many people in there ,queues a mile long !! i was glad to get out ,goodness knows what it will be like next week !!

I'd try to get a new Dys*n out of them Liz ,you don't know what's it's done to the workings going off bang like that ,its probably burnt something inside.

Those Sma*t Cars remind me of the little Bubble cars years ago,didn't the door open up on the front of them ? i bet they were strange to drive ,and where would you put your shopping!!! lol

Thanks for the views about Smart Cars,taken on board for serious thought! Have just rung Laura, and Ed (Grandson) answered the phone, he said 'Mum, it's the phone,' and put it down!!! He's 3!!! so I rang again and got through; like you Mel she thought a new Hoover was in order! we'll see!!! Am going to watch the Weakest Link! if I could just win £2.000, it would really see me on my way!!!! Oh well, have to settle for someone else doing it!!! Golly, you are all such busy old things, I've sent parcels and cards, so not much else to do this year! Glad you're feeling more festive now Mel, sometimes takes a bit of getting going!!

This morning when I was down in the village with Chester we passed a field with a little Black Shetland Pony(it might have been a minature.Gosh it was a character.Little pony with big attitude.When it spotted us he came galloping across to the fence .Ears back,kicking it's back legs and eyeballing Chester .I don't know if it was being playful or what.I noticed it did the same to someone else passing with a dog.I wish I had the camera with me.I didn't dare put my hand over the fence to stroke it.It might have had my hand off lolol

Frank we haven't had any rain so far.Where were you when you had the downpour?
Well I have wrapped just about all the presents now,and done all the ironing.I did tell myself the floors need a wash,but that can wait until later in the week.It looks like there could be more wintery showers on the way,and below freezing temp.I shall be glad when my neighbours are home and they can take over the frozen fishpond again.I have visions of all the fish being dead under all that ice.
Just the 2 of us for dinner tonight ,so it is steak.Hannah is going ice skating on the open air rink by the Science Museum in London(I think that is the place)
Tomorrow morning I am off the pictures with Fitz.I think the Film is Tamara Drew.I must have a look up and see what it is about lol

Afternoon at last, Been on our treck to Ros's Mum and Dad's grave. Last year the grave stone was so dirty and stained, that I used a bottle of stone cleaner. Spashed it over a good pair of trousers, (RUINED) This year the Stone stood out from all the rest. Clean as a new pin. and it's been there over thirty years. Took more cleaner with me this year, but only needed it on the kerbs, Left is to do it's own thing. Ros replaced the wreath and artificial flowers, even though they were still good after a year, so we took the wreath and flowers and put on her Nans, and Grandads grave.!!!

The weather held out for us, slight drizzle, but when we left to come home the heavens opened. A sign or what.!!!
Parcels are all over the place at the moment, Ros has been waiting on one that should have been here on the 7th. We saw our postie on Friday and he said the sorting office is full of parcels, with no one available to deliver them. As promised he found Ros's parcel, and put it with his ordinary walking mail, and delivered it this morning. I have been waiting for two packets from Hong Kong, God only knows when they will turn up.

You are a one for getting stuct in your car Jane, Think I will warn the Fire Brigade, when you are going out, ready to release you.!!!!!

Liz, I can only agree with whats been said those SMART CARS. have no bonnets, I certainly would't want to be in one in an accident. We have a small Mercedes A160 Auto. Its just that bit higher off the road, it easier for me to get in and out, and Ros can see that bit better being higher up.

Had another EGG this morning.

Been out and collected some green stuffs for some wreaths!! Yes I think I shall make just a few as they get me into the mood for Christmas and mum would have liked me to do them too.

still no parcel, OH phoned to ask if it arrived, he said he had sent an e-mail to Ama*on they e-mailed back saying it had been dispatched on the 6th December so that is 14 days ago, we know it will have been held up because of the weather but all other post & parcels have arrived.
I have a christmas lunch tomorrow so OH says he will work from home if it's still not here,

Bet Chester ?is nice and toasty Jane, I can't understand how dogs love to be so close to the fire, it must be really hot with all that fur lol

Liz ,have you thought of something like a Renault Clio? I don't know anything about Smart Cars .What about a Mini.They look great these days.

I think it suddenly feels really chilly,and I have lit my fire .I was going to light it the other week ,but as the heating was on 24 /7 it would have been too much.
Guess who is sprawled out in front of it??? NO NOT ME lol
