.Don't think our Frank was talking about his eyeballs Mel !!!!!!!

Frank there are no shops anywhere near the church.Just the Post Office.None on Barton Rd.By the primary school in Belvoir Drive there is a very small convenience shop(expensive),a Chippy, and a Childrens Nursery.Down Gotch Rd(I think Gotch) there is Budgens.

I went to have a drink of water from the bottle in the car,and it is one solid block of ice lol.

Just been round and deiced all the chickens water and have to do the wild birds now.

It's blimmin cold out there.

Mandy hope hubby can get back up the hill now it has been gritted.

Nothing has been done about my car yet so I am still housebound. I think it is a tactic to keep me indoors but I do need some chicken feed.

Don't make excuses Mandy, one is never enough. Greedy little thing you !! lol

In the Winter of 95 i think. We lived in Gayton. All roadds went up to the village. I worked about 5 miles away. It had snowed most of the day, so I rang Ros before I left work, and asked it there was any traffic going passed our house which was at the top of a hill, Oh she said, traffic is going passed, you should have no trouble. I left work, All OK on the main road, turned off up the lane, and half way up got stuck in four foot snow drift. I had to sit for half an hour for the snow plough. When I got in doors, she said where have you been. She omitted to say the traffic that had gone up and down were TRACTORS. Was the AIR BLUE !!!

Ros has just popped to Morr#### to get some bits.Had to clear all the windows on the car. Side roads look iffy, but i'm sure main roads will be ok.

Jane, I never knew the shops had gone from barton road, there was one on the left as you approached the lights, and another on the right by the bus stop passed the lights. Are the shops still in Polewell Lane by the church. My Son was christand there, and the first Vicars name was BEDFORD or BIDFORD. in the dark distant ages. Famous whereever I GO>!!!
Those donkey's were at Tesc#s in Northampton the other week less the antlers. in aid of a horses trust. So docile looking, you could take them home. ah.

I don't know about eye balls freezing. I thought mine had fallen off !!!!

Morning all,
11.05 pm
Thought i'd just let you now my change of address ....we now live in the ARCTIC !!!!! so cold out there ,i'am not moving far today i can tell you .
The sun is really bright today but the wind Brrrrrrr

Hubby has gone to work today ,i haven't heard anything so he must have made it down the hill, now he's just got to get back up !!!!!
I rang the Council to see if we can have the road salted ,and the reply was if there's any surplus salt over then they'll try.
The trouble is that our road slopes down onto a main road and a few years ago hubby slid right down onto the road ,luckily there was nothing coming ,but it really put the wind up him ,and now he hates going down there ,but its our only way out

Mel, what a pity there a broken piece, just when you want to try and get sorted !!

Jane , I always have two Mince pies, but if they made Mince pies a bit bigger then we wouldn't have to have two lol

10.30am.

Naughty, naughty, Jane, two pince pies, I always have two at a time, and the Italian cake thingy. I love that, Ros buys it in slices, I can't leave it alone.

Looks very windy out there today,They keep promising snow, but only a bit yesterday. I hear that the local roads into Northampton have up to two mile queues. Accidents and breakdowns. Won't be going anywhere today.

Very anoying for you Mel, Can't do much about it, till they replace it on the 10th. Hope that ones O.K.

Jane you be careful going down Barton Hill, no accident I hope.!!!! Is the shop still on Barton Road, you could get your fruit there, and save you a trip to Kettering.

Jane

Jane Report 1 Dec 2010 10:24

That's a pity about the broken leg Mel.When you spend all that money ,you expect everything to be fine and in one bit.

Ros's appointment is tomorrow not today.I

The wind is really blowing from the North .It is very open at the front of us and it's feeling like the Arctic.I was hoping not to go out today but we have run out of fruit and Chris and Hannah take some to work each day so as the good wife and mother I will risk the icy roads lol.
I just had a coffee and was a piggy and ate 2 mince pies.I feel sick now.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 1 Dec 2010 09:37

9.37am.

Morning Fiona and All,

Had to catch up on your posts again as we had the leccy off again yesterday here and there. OH was shampooing the bedroom carpet and the machine is very very old and it was making a funny smell.

We started undoing the bedroom furniture yesterday late afternoon. The bed first then the little bedside chest. Then a five draw tallboy chest. All ok but this morning he opened the two plus two chest of drawers and one of the little legs was broken right off!!! so that has to go back now. That was the box that rocked when it was on the floor.

They shall have to collect it when they deliver the mattress on the 10th Dec. Nuisance because it has to go behind the bed and he can't put that together till the chest is in place.

Sheila sorry to hear you have had the flu for two days and hope you feel better now.

Frank you mind how you go today and let us know if you call in on Jane.

OH working from home all this week. no point trying to the car out the drive never mind out the street, taxi driver dropped me off at the end of my street yesterday , our road is awful even the dusbins have not been emptied.
Going to get some breakfast.

I bet you are all tucked up giving it the ZZZZZZ.

I was also up at 5.30am this morning. Woke at 5.00am and was wide awake. Had half hour this afternoon, so not tired now.

Jane,Thanks for the offer, It will have to be a full English, or I won't stay lol lol. Ros's appointment is 11am. Will take your number with me, if we have time I will give you a ring so you can get the kettle on

I do feel for Hannah. I have done a similar thing on many occassions, I have slept passed my station, once when in the RAF the guard woke me at the last stop on the line. I should have changed at Crew, and ended up in Manchester.

Did anyone notice My West Ham beat Man United 4 - 0 tonight. UP THE HAMMERS>

on the note I will be off to bed for a read

Good night

Annx Report 30 Nov 2010 22:25

Poor Hannah Jane......too cold for hanging about on station platforms. I bet she'll be careful not to do that again. Whatever you do don't say 'fancy doing that' lol I bet she's ready for an early night.

Frank, hopefully, the wardens or new tenant at the address are not accepting any parcels that are for people who have moved on, but it does make you wonder doesn't it, especially if it will go through the letterbox! I imagine the tenants would give stuff like that to the wardens, but like Mandy says, what happens to it then??

They had to fish a pony out of the canal yesterday a few miles away. The poor thing must have been absolutely frozen. It didn't say whether it was spotted as soon as it fell in, but it was checked over and found to be ok. I bet it took a few towels to dry it off.

No more snow here yet.......first thing I'll be doing in the morning is peeking through the curtains to see whether there is more.

I bet your mind has been in a whirl about your Dad Fiona. Hope you have a better night and get plenty of zzzzzzzzzzzzz tonight. Night night xx

Jane

Jane Report 30 Nov 2010 22:14

Fiona I am sure you will have many nights like last night .Just think that your Dad is in a safe place .Sleep well.

I feel pooped now.I am the only one up.Even Chester is tucked up in his bed,but I will have to kick him out for his last wee ,and I really don't want to stand on the back doorstep while he does it,but I will have to otherwise he won't go.
Night Night all xx
