Frank finished most of my cards today to, I've only got to do the close relatives cards , I write them out and then put a christmas photo of Sofia in, making sure I get my oversea's ones done . I have 6 cards to go to America, 1 to go to Italy. usually post them sometimes during the first or second week in December. cost a fortune these days for stamps too, need to go to the post office and collect a few at regular intervals and then it's not a big amount of money all at once. I hate it when you have to stand in long queues because everyone seems to be posting there cards all at once.
Mel how did it go this afternoon was it ok!!

You are sooo right Frank, still all to do!! We don't have many pressies to get, mostly vouchers and the children in the family are all grown up now. I must get down to doing the cards though. Glad you have been taking it a bit easier today, hope it helps the aches. Thanks for the chuckle at your e-mails. Imagine having the nerve to install that ticket machine and keep going back to collect from it for all those years!!
We got the towel rail in the kitchen re-fixed and and the bathroom door now has a handle that doesn't fall off!! We thought we'd have to get a new one as a circlip was broken. I got some special pliers off the internet for about £3, OH got a good circlip off one of the old handles and hey presto, mended at a fraction of the price of a new handle.
OH has gone off to his first school governors meeting. He seems to have lost some enthusiasm.........could it be that there was a footie match he wanted to go to tonight??
Yes, how are things Mel?
Watching a bit of tele now.........may BBL

So I only have a Common Newt or Smooth one eh! I thought it might have been a Posh one lolol.I do hope it was dead though as the bin is going out tonight !!!!.I nearly stepped on it as it was literally right outside my back door. I won't be around much more today as our friends will be he soon .
I am waiting for a call from the vet as Chester is having a lot of bother with his legs today and I can't give him his usual medicine as he is on the steroid tabs. The vet is going to let me know if he has another kind of painkiller I can give, and if so I will have to in and pick it up. Thank heavens for having the car.I remember poor Dad having to get the bus each time with the cats, and them yowling their head off all the way there and all the way back again.Dad looked a right wreck by the time they got home lol
Just heard from friends. They are on the M1 and will another hour.

My print has trebled in size, don't know why. but does seem strange.
Jane I think that looks like a common newt. Great crested has what it says.!!!
Liz, I can see I will have to get the LADS together and come and do some sorting out !!!!
Ann, I feel like a wet week. and my right side is aching like mad. Ros has gone off to the shops, and to visit a friend who is off work today with a sore throat. Hope she don't bring it back here.!!!
Making a Lasagne for tea tonight. Haven't had one for a long time. Garlic bread sounds good with it. Must ring Ros to bring in a French Stick.

Afternoon All,
Good luck with your x-ray and the results Mel. Hope all is well.
Jane, might it be a smooth newt? They have orange spotted tummies too. We had a pond full at my previous house and there were quite a few here till OH re-housed them in the summer. They hibernate in the winter........are you sure it is dead? lol
What a cheek as you say Liz. Sounds like they are trying to save themselves cost by you providing them with official paperwork about the boundary that you have had to pay your solicitor to obtain. Good for your solicitor giving them short shrift. lol
You must be worn out after all that thrashing around in the night Frank. Were you dreaming.........running away from a bull or something. OH thrashes around when he has dreams about being chased, has been known to jump out of bed!!
OH will be back soon.....better get ready to do the jobs!!

Hope that the X-Ray went OK Mel, always a bit of a worry, but 9 timesout of 10 nothing to to be concerned about. Fingers crossed! Had a letter form neighbours Sols on Sat asking us for sight of the paperwork that our surveyor used when assessing our boundary!! It's such a cheek! they're are trying to rubbish our survey of course without offering one of their own, and yet they are the complainant!!! OH has finally lost patient with it, and our Sol has written back telling them that until they produce a survey of their own that contradicts ours, we're not prepared to discuss it with them anymore. End Of!! Also pointed out that the fence was in exactly the same position as it was when they bought the property. (have been accused of moving it!) No doubt we'll be threatened with immediate Court Action, (again!!) frankly, they'll just have to get on with it. Yes Frank, I could do with your help in the shape of 5/6 heavys!!!!

I Just had a look to see if I could find out what the lizard thing was .I have a feeling because of the orange spotted underside it might have been the endangered crested Newt!!!! I am not sure though.I would to know if any of you can help me out with this one.

Jane your find does Look like a lizard of sorts, not that sure I would have the guts to pick it up even if it is dead, gives me the willies to look at creepy crawlies, I rather have a lion or an elephant near to me than a mouse or rat . ( I do love butterflies, and it's only been in the last few years that I have been able to pick up a worm or catterpiller, had to be brave in front of the kids at work lol

Morning Mel Morning Jane. by you are both busy this morning.
Best of Luck Mel for your chest xray
Daughter' no 1 college friend is coming here this afternoon to wish daughter no 1 happy birthday , so they are all arriving about 1.30 , need to hoover up , Sofia always finds a crumb (the littlest crumb) on the carpet,
It was funny on Sunday when they were all here for dinner. nobody could find Sofia's dummy anywhere. and daughter no 1 shouts "SOFIA where have you put that dummy" the wee lass goes striaght behind one of the chairs and hands her mum the dummy, we were all helpless with laughter and surprise.
off to do a bit of housework BBL

Well I never heard of doing that with almond nuts before Mel and Frank.......and we had a big almond tree in the back garden at the house I lived in from age 10-14 as well. I used it mainly to climb up to read a book and hide from my little sister. lol I remember the nuts and loved the velvety green covering on the shells. I can smell them now.
It is a lovely offer you have made Frank and with their parents not being handy it will be reassuring for them to know you will help if needed. It can't be easy being parents for the first time.
Mel, your bedroom furniture sounds like an absolute bargain!! I would be all excited waiting for it to arrive. We have a memory foam mattress which is much better than our old one, but it isn't individual like yours. I bought a handmade four poster when I split from first OH. It had lovely carved posts with twists all down them. I made a frilled pelmet and valance and duvet cover to match in a heavy material in a mainly plum and teal blue with gold threads fabric........took weeks to make it. They take a lot of keeping clean though and dust would settle all on the top of the canopy like it does under the bed!! Now I have something simple with drawers in. lol
Off to bed now.....night, night everyone xx

I will be off shortly.I kept waking up last night and was reading my book at 4am .Then I could hear the 2 Cockerels from the bottom of next doors garden.....then snoring Norman in my ear.I think I gave up then ,so am feeling a tad tired now lol Night Night ,sleep tight xx
Keep forgetting the time.....21.47 .
