Glad you are feeling a lot better Fiona. I have made gift tags from old xmas cards using those pinking shears, but end to drop my cards off at the supermarket these days. I can't remember when I last had milk from the milkman, but I know one still delivers in the close as I can hear it rattle very early in the morning.... K*rby & West.

I have had to record Edwardian Farm as OH wants to see the end of some footie first!! I'd better tell him it's too racy for him Liz!!! lol

Very sorry to hear about your brother Frank, thet b....y disease, it is an absolute b......d and roll on the day when it can be conquered. Please DON'T bit a nail, remember your teeth!!! Hope your sister will be happy in her new home. It's a big step, but she will be safe, and as she is near her daughter, not cut off as can happen. All the best to her. Watching Edwardian Farm, cow and a bull!! hope this isn't going to be unsuitable, bearing in mind my blood pressure!!

Frank , sorry to learn about your brother in hospital, hope that everything will be ok,

Is a HEALTH CARE CENTRE Frank the same as a nursing home or a care home, my dad was in a nursing home for 4 weeks, before he went into a Dementia Care home, I never fully understood what the difference was till I was told a nursing home has qualified nurses and a care home does not, dad has one of the local drs who goes into visit all the residents in the home, I'm glad your sister is being well cared for.

Evening All,

Oh Shirl......when you say OG still the same, do you mean because of his meds.....or do you really mean ###### !! It doesn't sound much fun for you either way. Good job you get 10/10 for keeping cheerful!!

Evening Frank! Not a good day for you and sorry to hear about your brother and sister. At least you can speak to your sister on the phone....I bet she appreciates that and lets hope your brother's operation is a success. All these upsets can't be good for you so its a good idea to have a few beers.

Jane, the film was very, very good till about halfway, then we both thought it lost the momentum and became a bit well, predictable. Enjoyable though, quite scary at the start and not at all what I expected.

I was wondering how you got on at the dentist Mandy.......hope you are saving your pennies for the next visit!! I hate even having a scale and polish now......teeth have become very sensitive....all that cold water squishing around them. lol. Your xmas cakes must be pretty good if you are getting orders now.

Oh my own again OH away to England back Friday, so it's a bath & book then my bedtime Milk. and then to bed & my book
Been feeling much better today. hoping to join friends on Friday evening for dinner so I want to be well for then

Sheila, I keep all my old christmas cards till the following year then, check over them to make sure I don't miss anyone out.
I used to take them into work (nursery) for the children to use in making christmas collages, and to design there own christmas cards, but I like the mandy's idea about taking them into the supermarket to be used for charity. ( I also think some of the charity shops in my town collect old cards , must have a look next time I go shopping. It's also nice to use them some times to make your own gift tags.

We used to collect milk bottle tops for the Blind Mandy, and I know a couple of years ago I collected used stamps (but I can't remember for what Charity).I kept a plastic bag pinned on my notice board and popped the stamps in there.
We still have bottle tops as we have milk delivered. But I think most people buy milk from the shops now.It won't be long before the bottle tops have Holly prints on.

Jane, I had a shoulder of lamb tonight. with all the trimmings,

My elder brother the one 7 years older than me, is in hospital, He had cancer of the hip and back. for many years. It seems that Gangrene has set in, in his foot and leg. He has to have a 8 hour operation down from his hip into his foot. If not a success he with have his foot of, and may be his leg. Will know more during the week. Also had a phone call from my Eldest sister 89 tomorrow. She is now in a HEALTH CARE CENTRE, in Falkirk in Scotland.
She is only about 10 minute drive from her youngest daughter. so she can keep an eye on her. I don't think there's any chance of us going to see her. Ros couldn't drive that far.

With all thats going on at the moment I am going out tonight to have a beer or four. Might help me relax. because at the moment I could bite a nail in half.

Be back on when I get home, the chances are you will all be in bed. If so Good night GOD bless

I have been reading all the threads and some of you are so nice ,Maureen thank you I do my best to help people and the hospice needed a scanner so badly .

Why all the problems for me have been going on I was sending nice pictures because I get so many myself and the odd joke much appreciated.

Maureen a tree in a pot thats what I wanted
to be able to plant it in the garden . I had to haul the one from last year a long way to have it taken away.

I think we are asking for people to save the christmas cards next to raise more money we did it last year and
we made some money for the childrens hospice they support the parents so much who have children in the hospital to be able to stay with the children nite now take care

Hi Guys, Hope the piccys got to you ok Maureen, my uploading can be a bit hit and miss!! Did anyone watch the 1930's shop last night? I managed not to go to sleep! and really enjoyed it. Fancy being a Baker then, it would have been just awful, such hard work for very little return. I loved the Bespoke dress, I though it was so pretty and a lovely colour. Must go and light log burner and think about supper!!
