Mel Fairy Godmother Report 7 Nov 2010 17:50

Just done a load of apples from the garden and cooking them with some blackberries from the freezer. Now going to do a crumble mix to go on top. I have some nice Devon cream to go with it but don't know what to cook for the main course!!!!

I saw that program too. I did mentionit on the thread.

Frank where are my photos please????????????

Been cleaning out the draws of mums dressing table and OH has glossed the window sills and skirting boards and door backings to the wardrobes. We thought we had a new tin of white paint but it turned out to be called Linen white. We tried it on the sills and it did'nt look too bad so he has used that. Saved going back out to Barnstaple for another tin.

Thanks for the photo's Frank ,what a lovely walk that must be ,looked a nice sunny day when you went with all the autumn colours on the trees .
Would be nice in the summer too ,just sitting watching the boats go by .

Ann, i copied the cake the other day , i thought it was good too.

The programme was good ,liked the bit were they went to the pub and burnt the pork pies !! the bread looked better once they were given the white flour ,looking forward to the next one .

Lovely clear sky here ,but quite nippy out there now

Afternoon All,

Hardly a firework around here last night too, but quite smoky.

Belated happy birthday to MR MEL !! Hope he had a nice day. You beat me to it Mandy with the cake.......I had copied it as well. lol, lol Very good isn't it, Sounds like you had a nice evening.........poor Toby, I could just picture him, just like me when I have to go in some bushes, looking all around in a panic! I recorded that Turn Back Time programme too, it is very good.

We watched a fascinating programme we had recorded about birds and feeding them last night. I don't know if anyone else saw it, but it was full of interesting facts like the feeding of wild birds didn't really happen before victorian times and during WW1 was legally banned as it was considered wasteful of food. I never realised collared doves only arrived here in the 50s. I think there are 2 more programmes to follow.

Well done FRANK!!!! It looks very nice along your canal. I suppose you see quite a few boats along there. There'll be no stopping you now, but watch your footing. I have a habit of walking while peering through the camera.....not a good idea!!

Brilliant photo's Frank, they reminded me of Tiverton Canal. I used to go there to an old lady whose garden went down to the water, and Canal boats like the one in the photo went up and down, some on day cruises and others with people on holiday. It always looked such a nice thing to do. Lovely day here, clouding over now a bit.OH is watching motor racing of some sort, and I'm vaguely looking up odds and ends; (No Mel, NOT Jane Restall!!!) I seem to have come to a bit of a grinding halt with my tree, will have to go off into in-laws!!! Mind you talking of Jane R, I think she and John Lane moved to either Reading or Henley in the 1870's!! If you were feeling bored Mel?!!!!!!
Talked to Laura (daughter) today, she rang me to tell me that Polly came 6th in her Floor Work and Bar (?!) at a Gymnastic competition at ?(I can't remember where she said it was!!) I was really pleased for P, as she works so hard at it all and is, (though I say it myself) very talented. Made us feel cheerful. Lovely lunch too, Roast Chicken and usual veg so nothing more to do today except a snack!

Frank it was very quiet here last night too.Thank goodness.
The owl is still there.Chris saw it sat on the fence post again.
Frank I left a message on Safewings answer phone but they haven't got back to me.
Just about to dish up grub.A kind of Indian meal.Lord knows what it will be like.
I will do a Roast in the week ,before Hannah goes of to London to start her new job.Make sure she has had a good feed lol.She will be flat sitting for a friend for 2 weeks so at least she won't need to worry about commuting.

The sun is shining now.But is a little chilly.I hope you can get those photos sorted Frank.

Jane, I still am.!!!! had a shower and shave, pur my dressing gown back on, sat and read the paper with two cups of tea, now Ros has bought me in a coffee.
I have prepared all the veg for dinner later, so not been that idle.
Didn't know about birthday BOY. happy returns, better late than never.

Still haven't worked out how to get my pictures from camera to computer. I sat till after midnight last night. When I went to bed a lay thinking about it. Didn't get off till passed 3am.

Loverly morning/afternoon here. Sun shine a few white clouds, "hanging on the breeze to dry."

Mandy are you off to the coast today. will be nice with the wind blowing in your face.

Very quite here lastnight with fireworks. even though it was a clear night. I suppose the cost of them, makes younger families a bit careful what they spend.

Still looking for my SON# E book reader. lost one this morning by £2.00. there are loads more, so will have to be patient. As you all know I CAN !!!!

Morning Mel and all
Well the sun is shining but I can also see some very fine rain. It's very odd.some drops of rain look a bit sleety .There was a frost too first thing.
Chris is off with Chester so I am slumming it in my nightclothes for a while longer.

Morning,

Well it rained cats and dogs in the night. Now the sun is out again. Not many leaves left on the trees now either. I think there was a storm around because as I lay in bed and looked out the window I am sure I saw lightening in the distance.
