Morning Mel, Gwyn and all
Cold and frosty with icy pavement here. No need to go out so it's an indoor day for me. Bit of crafting I think :-D
Ann, I switched off to start again, it still just flashed. Strange how it worked for the first three times - fluke? I've scanned the booklet so that I can read it more easily. Google has an unhelpful habit of not giving answers appropriate to the questions sometimes :-|

A really bright morning here, no fog, but we did have a light overnight frost, which is disappearing fast in the sunshine. A quiet day at home today trying to find more room in the kitchen.....
Son dropped off his blood pressure cuff yesterday, so that I can do daily readings and take them back to the nurse practitioner to review the week after next. When the nurse took the reading on Monday, she at first said it was fine, then decided it was a little high hence the home readings. I am used to slight discomfort, when they take it with their automatic machines, these days, but she really hurt. I now have to do 6 readings a day :-0, ...3 first thing in the morning, then 3 in the evening and record the lowest reading each time. The downside is that I know each one is going to be uncomfortable, the plus is that I know the intense feeling is soon gone. It feels sort of bruised inside the arm since the nurse's reading, if that makes sense. Hopefully the home readings will show that I can keep to the medication I already take. We shall see.

Morning all,
Been up since 7.45am and turned on pc only to find I had a bid on an item I sold last week and it has been posted. I had to wait for a call from a man who helped me and talked me through some other points on how to rectify this if it happens again.
Sunny here after a very hard frost and it 0 degrees. The suns having a job burning of the frost this morning and my pond was a bit frozen so it must have been a hard one.
I am now going out to defrost the chickens water and feed them and the wild birds.

Island is it still flashing? Have you tried switching it off and on again at the plug. Or if it is still flashing is that both drawers? Have you tried holding the buttons 1 and2 or whichever one is flashing for two or three seconds. Normally it flashes for you to change something Presumably for crispy veg the fries function would be best so touch that icon and see if that works. What veg were you trying to crisp? You could try shaking the veg in a bowl in a very small amount of oil.

My poly bag over the cooker was'nt done up so when I lifted it it only lifted one side but it was enough to get my hand under it to lift it out.
Shan't be using mine yet but my friend says he does smashing chips in his much better than oven chips.
Iv'e had Andrew and Terrie down here as its their dads funeral tomorrow and I am not going. Les lived in the cottage where I drive into my place. I always had a good chat to him when he went to the library in the village hall car park and popped in to see him now and then. His son told me he had a leccy bill for £1300 as he could'nt get down to get the logs and coal out of the store anymore. If I had known Jonathon next to him would have done it for him.

Yes Ann; Just looked in. I've used it three times with degrees of success. Roast veg didn't crisp after 3 x 10 minutes so I'm not impressed with that - won't resort to big oven though. Today the so and so thing is just flashing at me, what am I supposed to press to stop that after doing temperature and time - I didn't have this when I used it before and it determined that I'm cooking meat - how do I cancel that? I looked online - Lakeland how to use - it isn't how to use it's all about them selling the product. Zilch about how to actually programme it. The booklet is too small print to read. I'm not happy! What changed after my first three goes? :-S :-S :-S
I opened the lid on the outer box, then the lid on inner (product) box. took the 'egg box' out and used the poly bag to lift one end of the fryer to get it out. No problem! They will all be the same fit in the outer box.

Mine was completely jammed. I could have turned the box upside down and it wouldn't slide out. Have you got it completely out now Mel. I don't think it is that big. In fact it is not a lot larger than my singer drawer one. Which a friend had off me today.
Island are you looking in? How are you getting on with it? What have you cooked so far. (I know it won't be meat or fish).

Well I would have had to break the outer box up anyway so I just did it earlier than usual. I can't remember if I said but the salmon teryaki I cooked last night was very nice.

Good morning all -2 here hard frost and freezing fog outside although the sun is shining. I slept quite well, woke twice then woke later than normal. Dressed now and a load of washing in.
I was just thinking, If my Mum had got up this late then had a load of washing to do it would not have been finished and on the line until lunch time. Our parents had to work so much harder than us.
Well done on the sewing machine Mandy, there seem to be some good bargains around.
I have a friend coming to look at my old airfryer this morning. It is as good as new But she can have it for £30. she is one of the people who takes me out. I know if I offered it for nothing she wouldn't take it so I set a low price (they are £100ish new) I need the space now though. It is in the conservatory.
Mel, hope you got the ebay bid.

Morning all,
Very frosty again and a little fog too but the suns shining aways it should soon lift the frost.
Gill I was thinking about your garden ,is there a hire place near you, could you hire one of those little mini diggers as your OH can drive I'msure he'd be able to use it ,our hire centre delivers them and shows you how to use them ,son use to use one when he was working with Colin ,I think Jewsons use to hire out equipment too ,if you had one over the weekend when the weathers better you'd probably get a lot cleared and levelled out.
Yesterday I was looking at our Benjamin foundation website and I spotted a sewing machine on there it is a Janome and was only 25 pound so we nipped out and had a look and I got it ,it needs a bit of a wipe over but all the feet are there with it and lots of other bits ,it's been tested by an electrician so should be OK, my other machine I bought from a car boot years ago so I thought I'd keep that one for the girls to use .
Mel hope you manage to win the thing on ebay your bidding on .

Having come back from the post van this morning I realised I had'nt banked a cheque I was sent. I went into Holsworthy for chicken food so took it with me then and banked it in the post office there.
Had a quick look in the factory shop at their cotton long sleeved tops and they had a nice blue one but when I looked through they were all 10/12's I like these tops as I use them to sleep in and under shirts. The other colour they had was a sort of terracotta which I have one of and don't wear it much only inth esummer with my gongalongs.
Must see if I added my biscuits to my asda order as it comes tomorrow.
Your getting on well Gill I think you deserve a bit of a rest.

I had to smile Vera when you said your OH has his tools all around your kitchen, my OH is the same but he leaves his smaller tools in there, they don't take up much space but once all the boards are finished they can go back into his garage.
I was saying the same thing to OH AnnG about my sleep patterns, at least, like you said, I'm getting a few hours in between waking up.
We didn't manage to finish the boarding in the hall as neither of us could do anymore, both our backs are sore from moving the triple wardrobe yesterday, so boarding the floor is a much slower job now, plus OH is on nights tonight so needs to have a rest before going to work.
I've noticed the mouse on this laptop isn't very good and things keep popping up or altering each time I type, I don't like to mention it to OH's friend with him letting me have this laptop for free, but if it gets any worse I might have to ask him if he could take look at it.
I've just had a nice bath so need to go and dry my hair, with it being so long the water is dripping down my hair all over me.

that was useful then Gwyn at least it is sorted.
Gosh Gill life is complicated for you, night and day seem to change places. You need to get back into a proper routine when these jobs are finished. At least you seem to sleep for a good length of time when you do drop off.
Vera, I hope it was not nuts and bolts for lunch then! Why do men need so much space for their jobs. I suspect it was because he needed to know which screws etc went where. The trouble with my surgery with BP is they don't just ask for a reading, they ask for 7 days worth of readings twice a day.
Well I was going to hoover the floor, then I realised it was the day for the garden bin to be emptied tomorrow so I spent about 40 minutes out in the garden tidying up the large sedum which had spread over everything so that has almost filled the bin. By the time I came in it was gone 2pm so I quickly heated up some of the soup I made yesterday and that was lunch. Other than walking down to the book stall with three more books I weeded out I don't know where the morning went.

There was quite a frost this morning but the sun has pretty much burned it off. It looks a lovely day and 7 degrees but it feels a lot colder. At least it's not foggy here.
I've done 3 loads of washing this morning but I haven't hung it out as I am sure it won't dry outside even if it does look bright. OH decided to repair a broken tool but brought everything into the kitchen as he said it was too cold to stand at the workbench in the garage. I can understand that but why does he have to cover every bit of work surface with screws, drill bits, dismantled bits of the tool etc.? He has also brought in a big, heavy tool box that is on the floor but he keeps moving it so that every time I walk through it's somewhere else and I nearly trip over it again. Oh well, it keeps him out of mischief and stops him hanging around on street corners, lol.
Gwyn, I may be wrong but I have a feeling that, as part of their NHS contracts, GPs may now have to make regular checks on anyone on their lists with an ongoing problem. I know several people, including myself, who have had blood pressure check letters. I do have a home monitor and every so often send a reading to the GP but I hadn't done so for quite a while. My letter said to either make an appointment to get it checked or send in an up-to-date reading from my home monitor, which is what I did. A friend of mine with arthritis was asked to come in for a check and the doctor admitted it was a waste of time for both of them as she was already closely monitored by the hospital consultant and a dedicated arthritis nurse, but said he had to do it. By the way, if any of you are thinking of getting a home bp monitor, do get one with a proper arm cuff as my doctor said they are better than the wrist ones.
Talking of things medical, I had a phone call this morning from the hospital booking me in for my next eye injection on Thursday. I'm not looking forward to it. It's OK while it's being done but very painful shortly afterwards and the pain lasts a couple of days. Fingers crossed, this might be the last one. I have to see the consultant a month after this injection and he will decide then if I need to have any more. I don't think the problem has got any worse so hope these jabs have at least stabilised it.
I've just noticed the time. I had better go and make Mr Mechanic in the kitchen some lunch, that is I will if he has left me a few inches of worktop to do it on.

Hi Everyone
Sorry I wasn't on here yesterday, I was up in the middle of the night the night before last doing a bit more filling in the kitchen, didn't get to bed until gone 4am then was awake again around 9am so decided to empty the hall while OH was asleep off nights, I managed to take everything out apart from the two big wardrobes which OH helped me with in the afternoon. I then had something to eat and promptly fell asleep, OH said it was only 7.30pm. Needless to say I was wide awake at 3am, so I made myself a drink and watched a bit of TV before falling asleep again. Up at 7am, so was OH so we've made a start on boarding the hall and have it almost finished, we're just down to all the fiddly bit around the outsides, so if it's not finished today it should be completed by tomorrow. I can't get over the size of the hallway with not being able to see most of it for almost two years and when I measured it again to make sure we have enough boards it was a foot and a half longer than I thought at eighteen and a half foot. Luckily we still have enough boards to do the floor.
Typical, every time I sit down OH needs me, he's calling me to measure the next board so I'd better go. I'll try and get back on here later as I haven't read the posts yet.
