Well, I was very quick at the hospital, 15 mins at most. They have new digital machines, so I didn't have to stand on tiptoe this time or wait to see if the pictures were ok. LOL Shirl, 2 pizza doughs yes!! You get called every 3 yrs up to age 70 here Maureen, then you can request them after that.

We called for bite to eat on the way back and they served the gravy in little white jugs identical to the milk one for the tea!! OH managed to get the wrong one and pour gravy in his tea......a lot of it because it didn't change the colour!! Yuk lol When we got home, he hadn't locked the front door either......he's going to pot I think.

Alfie sounds like a little terror Maureen. I bet he would love it in our loft.......another mouse in the trap this morning.

Jane the dress sounds nice, just the accessories to sort now then.

Jane , some nights there's no indigestion other nights it just appears occasionally I have sat up and watched the TV for a while till it dies down , I try to watch what I eat, no real cream, just spray cream, no pastries, no butter, no nuts, I don't drink alchol anymore, it can give me heartburn and of course the dreaded hot flushes.lol
I am a bit of a scaredy cat I tend not to be brave and say "oh to hell with it I loved a glass of wine" don't like the after effects.

Shush Mel .Don't let Chris hear you are having that.I never have kidneys ,and Chris loves them. The only time he has them is if they are on a menu in a restaurant .Chicken Casserole for us with mash tonight.

I have a feeling it will be my turn for a mammogram soon.I know last time I went I was peeling from dreadful sunburn and flaking all over the place lol.Is it every 3 years?

Alfie still being a little devil then Maureen lol

Those ashtrays that Ann mentioned were a good idea.At least all the ash and butts were collected in the bottom and didn't blow around all over the place.

Fiona it must be awful for your daughter to have those patches ,but like you say at least she has the thick hair to cover them .Do you have to sleep propped up with that reflux?

Well my dress arrived ,and it is very nice.I just hope I don't look like a ship in full sail lol.It is RED and beaded.Heaven knows if will wear it again after the wedding.

Maureen

Maureen Report 2 Nov 2010 17:29

Not yet Fiona, he sits over the internet connector because it gets warm but he lost his balance and the next minute had disappeared !!! He's done it a few times and re-emerges round the side of the table and jumps back up.

Meant to say, isn't little Sofia growing up, she is so pretty. Love the photos Jane, you have a great view from your bedroom window.

Fiona

Fiona Report 2 Nov 2010 17:14

Hope Alfie didn't hurt himself, Maureen he's quite the little dare devil climbing everywhere , has he damaged anything else computer wise

Maureen

Maureen Report 2 Nov 2010 16:52

Yes those mamagrams are uncomfortable but better to be safe than sorry. Think might have got to the age where they don't call you anymore, same as with the smear test, said wouldn't need to go again, what is it .... turn 60 and it doesn't matter ......

The Christmas e.mail looked lovely Frank but I couldn't get any sound up, could be my computer. Alfie fell down the back of the computer table and took one of the speakers with him.

Hi All
Sheila hope all is ok at the hospital for you.
Just got back from the drs in time as the wind and rain came belting down,
Jane, daughter doesn't think the steriods have made a lot of difference, accept the bald patches are not as inflamed but not much hair has grown back. good job she has thick long hair and it covers the bald bits.

Dr has told me to carry on taking the Vit tablets till they check to see my Vit D level, I might have to take Vit D for ever
Also say's I can take 2 acid reflux pills now to see if that helps with the indigestion

Ann, I hate Mammagrams. so painful and I ache like anything for the rest of the day. but so far all has been good.

Ironing all done for today so I am going to catch up on all the e.mails. Looking forward to seeing the photos and reading some more of your great jokes Frank.

Good luck to all who have hospital appointments and hope all is well with OH Liz..

I remember wading through all those sites that print your family tree Frank, some do it like a tree with branches which I didn't fancy. Got a bit confused with it all and didn't do it in the end. I would be interested to see how yours turns out.

Frank

Frank Report 2 Nov 2010 14:53

Woh, It's turned a lot cooler, Have been sitting in the conservatory reading my book. The wind outside is blowing quite hard. It makes you feel cold seeing the trees bending over and the leaves blowing in the wind. Came in the lounge and put the heating on.

Liz, I don't know what to say about your neighbours, except they must be right so and sos to keep this thing up.!!!!

Doing a Turkey breast for dinner tonight. Have laid it on a bed of stuffing, ground black pepper over it with a squeeze of lemon. Roast Pots, and Parsnips. Runner beans, Brussels, Carrot and peas. Should keep the wolves from the door.

We use to go into the fields and scrape the leaves into a big pile then lay under them. The smell was wonderful. And as boys always do, would set light to them, the smoke was even a better smell.
This close to firework night, we would have been on half term, and time to build the FIRE. We would dig a hole to put the centre tree in. then build the fire life a wigwam. Anything and everything went on it .It would burn thought the night, and we could start a smaller fire the next day. They were the good old days, no cares or worries, only what you could get upto the next day.!!!!

Hi Everyone,

Good luck for your appointment Sheila. I have a trip to the hosp for my routine mammogram this afternoon. I hate standing on tiptoe and being squashed so hard, but it is important to get checked.

Sorry to hear the neighbours are still not playing ball Liz. They seem very stubborn. When it is sorted I would try and claim your costs from them. They don't seem to be coming up with any evidence of their own to support what they say, just causing more costs.

I love walking through dry leaves too Jane.....the smell of them too reminds me of childhood.

OH and I walked past an old tobacconist shop today and it had those round metal ashtrays where you press a plunger and the ash disappears into the container below. I had forgotten we used to have those.

Better get ready now.......BBL

I hope everyones appointments goes well this afternoon.
Fiona ,the thought of having steroid injections into the scalp sounds horrible.Your poor daughter.Did the injections help last time?

It seems to be clouding up now and it feels a bit chilly in the breeze.I love this time of year as there always seems to be a nice smell of bonfires in the air.

Morning all
Bright cold and sunny just the same as yesterday till after lunch then the heavens opened, don't know if todays going to be the same.
Off to the Drs this afternoon to check up on my pills been taking these Vit D pills since May and want to know how long I need to continue with them , also see if I can change the pills I was given for my acid reflux , I am still knocking the Gavi*con back especially after my evening meal.

Have a appointment to see the nurse on Thursday for my 6 months check up on Blood test, Blood preasure and urine sample. good to get it over before Christmas.

Daughter no 2 got her appointment for the Dermatoligist up at the hospital on the 29th of this month, she's not looking forward to it as last time they injected steriods into the bald patches where the alopecia is and it was extreamly sore as there is no muscle there, OH taking a days holiday then so he can run us up to the hospital, she doesn't want to be on her own.
Thanks for the photo of your back garden , Jane.
