Afternoon all
yes my lot had bicky pegs. , haven't seen them in many of the shops much now. I think B**ts will probabably still do them.
I like B**ts for all there baby stuff they have some lovely little red outfits in for Christmas.

Took a top back to B*S today, which I bought last week, decided it was too clingy. never found another one to replace it. saved some money there.

A lot of glass doors Mel , I have 4 mirriored wardrobe doors in my bedroom and they are awful things to keep clean, but don't want to change them because they give the effect of making the room look bigger.

cold and dry this morning but heavy showers this afternoon.

Didn't manage to get on here yesterday, dil came over with Finley, we were supposed to sort out all the boot sale stuff and get it up in the loft for next year but Finley is a big distraction. Such a happy baby, smiles everytime you look at him. Have taken loads more photos and will send them on once I get them on the computer. We did manage to clear the bedroom eventually and son has assembled the d.bed so I am slowly getting my bedrooms back and should get all the art stuff out in the single bedroom soon.

Hope Ros is feeling a bit better today Frank, don't suppose the cold weather helps much either.

When are the babies due Sheila, my daughter has been given 16th May for her baby. Just shows how long since I've been to McD's didn't know Ronald had been ousted for Roland.

Is the song just called Whispering Shirl. I remember one called Whispering Grass or something like that, wasn't it two guy from It Aint Half Hot Mum had a number 1 with it.

Having a nice coffee after cleaning six sides of full length glass doors and a huge floor to ceiling window in the lounge where the front door used to be years ago. It's round the back of the bungalow!!!! Fancy having a front door at the back.

I didn't get on the thread last night, before bed. so missed all the chat.

We used those biscuits for our children when they were teething.

My Mum use ti give her grandchildren and us when babies "Butter/sugar teats. Knob of butter ,spoonfull of sugar wraped in a piece of musslin. and knotted ,then pinned to their dress/coat on a lenght of ribbon. They would suck on that and sooth them.
My nieces and nephews had those banana shaped bottles. YES they were suppose to stop them getting wind.

Shelia, If you still have that list I would like it. Thanks.

Jill, HAVE YOU CHECKED YOUR CASE. or hand luggage bag, It's somewhere you might put it, and not need to look till you pack again.
Ros has taken his Lordship to the cinema this morning with a friend. Then on for a Chickrn Mc D. As we haven't taken him for a chinese this week, I said we would get a takeaway tonight. He goes back tomorrow evening. The week has gone so quickly.

Jane I have pm you.

JANE THEY WERE BICKY PEGS! Jill remembered. Did'nt they have dimples in them? and they did look a bit like pegs. I think they were a teething biscuit.

Morning All,

Think it rained in the night. Brightish this morning and OH is clearing up the fallen apples in the orchard as I think his sister may stay overnight with her OH. The path up to the caravan is nearly all under the apple trees and if you step on one inthe dark you could hurt yourself.

I remember getting Bicky Pegs in a parcel free from the hosp when I had my son. I knew what Jill meant the minute I read her post.

Did'nt manage to get back on pooter last night as was so tired after my day of clearing up and cleaning windows.

I had a friend at the pet shop whose son was interested in Falconry. I drew him some pics of birds with their covers over their eyes. The child was delighted. Never done any myself but OH looked after a wild one for quite a while once. It had been injured and he had to feed it through a hole so the bird would'nt get to see him and so could be released back into the wild.

Hope you find that passport Jill. Look for something else and you are sure to find it. Or ask the fairies for it back three times. thats what I do!!!

Sheila glad you enjoyed your visit to Mac D.

More windows to clean today and have to wash my hair which is quite an ordeal now with it being sooooooooooo loooooooonnnnngggggg.

May even attempt a colour to hide my grey!!!!

I breast fed my son for quite a while as he only weighed 5lb 3 when born. I was given those breast shells to wear inside my bra. They were glass with a little hole in one side. The only problem I had was that if I bent down they leaked.

Frank the walk by the canal sounded nice, perhaps you could do it again and take your camera this time.

Hi Shirl glad your coping girl.

Liz do have a lovely time with those grandchilden. Safe journey!

I watched the program on Kibworth last night. I have enjoyed the bits I have seen of it.

Ann I shall be interested in the thing on Ag Labs. as they are loads in my family. One was down once as an Ag. Lab Thesher. He would go round to all the farms and do their harvest Theshing. He ran off and left his wife and children.

Remember the little finger rusk biscuits, with a hole and ribbon through it..can t remember what they were called...but they were rock hard. Me and my sister used to have those bottles with teats at both ends Jane, think they were meant to stop wind, and ridges so they would nt roll

Jill

Jill Report 27 Oct 2010 21:47

I still eat farleys rusks!! Well they re in the cupboard again, with the grandchildren coming over. Lovely with butter and marmite on!

I love bathing my grandchildren Sheila...when i shampoo their hair,i make big sticky up 'ears' , used to do same with my children.

NO PASSPORT! Am now getting worried, i ve put it somewhere too safe,i remember thinking i must file it away when i last used it,and stuffed it somewhere. Lawks!!

Dad turned eighty this summer,so this will be part of his pressie...sent him up in a tiger moth on the day...would you believe,he tried to do a loop!!! Thank goodness for the instrutor...we just held our breath as we saw the plane plummet from the sky!

Breast feeding-
lasted only 3 months with daughter no 1. not to many problems, but daughter no 2 was too greedy and she would have fed all day given half the chance, so only managed a month with her, just didn't have enough milk, then on to the bottle
daughter no 1 managed to use the breast pump when feeding Sofia for 7 months as she couldn't breast feed normally but wanted Sofia to still get the breast milk even though it was given in a bottle,

Sheila I love the baby fruit jars, and the the biscutes that are for children, the only things that tasted disgusting was the savoury meal jars, because of course there's no seasoning
so Glad Sofia eats our food now.
i'm packing up now off to get a drink of milk from a milk carton lol and watch the tele.
BB 2morrow.
