Morning Anng and all,

Its positively tropical here at 7 degrees with some sun and no wind.

Must do some HW today as I have been a naughty girl doing my miniture and leaving the HW. There is only me to see it but I don't like it when there's bits on the kitchen floor and there is. Leaves and sawdust mainly. Leaves blow in from outside when the winds in the east and I bring in the sawdust from the chickens even though I alway wipe my feet well.

The lady has finerly paid for my things on Ebay so I have a parcel to take up the post van too.

So what are you lot up to today?

Good morning all.4 degrees here and quite bright Hope everyone is well and slept ok last night. I woke before 5am and couldn't get back to sleep so feel a bit off this morning.

O so good to see Ann posting.

Congrats to Vera and hubby for the new great grandchild baby on the way.

I have been doing my minitures all day. Some casting and a little painting and I tried to put another lot of stuff on ebay but they kept changing my prices and I had the same lot up with a starting price of 99p and the same one with the starting price of £4.00 so I took them both off and will try again maybe later or in the morning.

We've had a couple of Ravens in the garden over the past few days. We used to get them but had'nt seen them for a few years. Also the buzzard has been about. I think he is after rabbits as I have lots at the mo.

I had'nt eaten anything till just now when I had a big breakfast so that will do me for today with just a couple of choc biscuits later with a drink of Coco.

Oh Congratulations Vera how lovely to look forward to the arrival of a new baby in the family ,a little twig to add to your tree <3
Not much meat on a hedgehog but I enjoyed the stuffing lol
Holly the Hedgehog is all done and I'm now doing Bella the cat ,its a ginger cat so I suppose it should be a tom really ,can you get female ginger cats , anyway this one is female as she has a skirt and top .

Lovely sunset here tonight .

Spent a pleasant morning with my friend over the road. mostly grey here too Vera although we did have a splash of sun earlier and a nice sunset. Strangely no birds around here at all today only three in my garden this morning a wren, a great tit and a blackbird. And none at all in friends garden. I did the birdwatch for an hour on Friday but even then only saw about 12 birds. (list is downstairs).

Thanks Ann, good to see you popping in. I don't think I could persevere with one on line course let alone two. they must take a fair amount of time.

It’s been very grey all day but no rain so far. I don’t seem to have done much today. I sat for an hour this morning doing the Big Garden Bird Watch and then went to shower and wash my hair. While I was doing that OH washed the kitchen and hall floors which was a nice surprise for me.

Lol Mandy when you said you were going to stuff the hedgehog I thought you were planning roast hedgehog for Sunday dinner :-D

Just been interrupted by a phone call from grandson and what a surprise.........he and his girlfriend are going to make us great grandparents in 6 months or so. I need a bit of time to take it in I think.

Miserable day here today and its rained a bit as the grounds wet . Did'nt wake till after 10am as I went back to bed after my second visit to the loo. Fatal I should never do it now Iv'e not much left of the morning.

Cloudy here with a little wind but no frost ,not a lit happening here just having a lazy day recovering from wood stacking .

Gosh Gill, you have got a lot done in the house and you must be pleased to see everything moving along now,after a bit of a slow start. Your neighbours sound nice. It makes such a difference when you all get along.

Talking of neighbours, the man next door knocked late afternoon. He explained he hasn’t been Zoom cooking lately with his grandchildren overseas as they have been busy packing up to move house. However today he made cake for an event at his church and made too much so he brought us 2 large slices of cranberry and orange drizzle cake and 2 large pieces of Guiness gingerbread. We’ve made pigs of ourselves and eaten the lot and very nice they were too.

The flowers were a lovely gesture from your family AnnG. I will be thinking of you tomorrow and wishing you a calm day filled with memories of all the good times.

Forgot to say I didn't need to sand the plaster in the end, just give it a wipe down to get rid of all the dust. OH's in work tonight and the wall was still a bit wet so he's going to to the miss coat tomorrow when it's dried properly. I'm going to level the hearth tonight as it doesn't look level, I could be wrong so will put a spirit level on it first just to make sure. If it does need leveling then it'll be dry by tomorrow afternoon when OH wakes up, ready for him to do the painting, he's not in work tomorrow night, although he's back in work Monday night so how many of the cement boards will go down I'm not sure yet, that job might have to wait until next Friday when he has a proper day off without having to sleep during the day. It's a bit of a nuisance him only having one free day a week as it slows the DIY down and it can't be nice for him working on his day off either, so the sooner the jobs are finished the better.

Yes things seem to moving much faster now all the building work has been done, it took us ages to have the two coal fires out plus one of the chimney's and the wall knocked down to the bathroom so we could extend it, then of course the new wall built, not to mention all the plastering we've had done and the re-wire and central heating put in, plus the wall insulation and underfloor insulation and a new back door and that's just what I can remember that's been done so far, I'm sure there's other jobs I've forgotten, so lots of building, dusty, jobs. We can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel now, well inside anyway, there's still lots more to do in the gardens which we're hoping to get back to in the spring.

We're very lucky the neighbours around here are brilliant and say they understand the jobs need doing and I'm always careful about the time of day and do the quiet jobs away from the adjoining wall if it's late. All the neighbours here are great and the day we moved in there was a bottle of wine and a card for us on the door step from next door......how nice was that.

The neighbour we're attached to got lots of quote to replace the broken fence at the back we were suppose to go halves but we had to buy a car and couldn't afford it, plus the quotes were very high so we did the job for free and she bought the fence panels. She was thrilled with the job and bought us both a present as a thank you saying it would of cost her much more if we hadn't of done it. Like I said the neighbours are lovely so we're very lucky. We're like a family.

How lovely to receive the bouquet of flowers, what a wonderful thoughtful thing to do.

After the meeting here this morning with 7 of us, to discuss a trip next Friday to Tetbury (organised by me) 5 of us went to the Hare and Hounds pub up the road for lunch. I had Scampi and chips and cheese cake and it came to just over £13. It is a lot cheaper than that mid week for seniors )£5.99 for 2 courses. We were impressed. the rest all had fish and chips which they said was nice. I also had a medium glass of red wine which was quite drinkable and cost £2.99.

When I got back, on the doorstep (Cynth is away) there was a beautiful bouquet of flowers. It just says 'thinking of you this weekend Mum' Tomorrow is the second anniversary of Tony's death. <3

Murky old morning here and pc says 3 degrees and cloudy but I can see that for myself.

Just the hsop to do and Em's eggs then the rest of the day is mine.
