I'm glad to think I can discount SarahJ as Fanny's mother. I am pretty certain the father of Edward Thompson was a Benjamin Thompson who lived a few doors away from the Walkers in Clarence Grove as Edward gave the name of his father on his marriage cert as Benjamin, a Clerk - which fitted. |

The 1881 census gives her age as 5,if this is correct, how can she be born in 1877? |

Well, Jim, I was wondering if there was any connection between Catherine Walker marrying Jackson Whaites in 1877 and the fact that Fanny WAS born in 1877? OR WAS SHE, JIM??? |

You can discount the marriage but it proves that all births were not registered or not in the name you would expect. |
