Having two children with the same first name usually means the older one has died. How sure are you that there were actualy two borthers and have not just taken the age from a census.

Does ‘still looking’ mean that you have asked before about this?

Have you ascertained that he did not die between 1881 and 1891?

Migration records are on FMP and Ancestry.
US censuses are on Ancestry

Where was he living in 1881?

How much research have you done?

Still looking for family members. Any advice will be helpful. I'm trying to find out what happened to Francis James Wood born 06/04/1864 in Greenock Scotland. His parents were Francis Wood and Mary Love. 2 of his brothers emigrated to USA one in 1887 and one in 1890. The last place I found him was on the 1881 census aged 16. Any ideas as to where I can look to see if he also emigrated. He could be known as James as he had another brother called Francis born in 1866. Thank you.
