The ONLY place to check for parents pre-1837 would be the county records office in the original baptism registers. Even things on familysearch taken from the registers can be inaccurate and they often don't give info which is on the original. nell

Yes Georgina I noticed th age 107 but I found nothing else for her, so although unlikely it was possible so I left that part in. Thank you for all that info, the Kiff seem to be a pretty big family, ill plough thru that and see what I can find!

Can I just ask if you have taken your info from the family search site? If you have, be very careful about info that is posted by a member of the LDS church or a Pedigree Resource file because they are well known for mistakes. Just looking at your request rings Alarm Bells because if Catherine Russell was born in 1774 & died in 1881 she would have been 107 when she died? I have just checked deaths for 1881 & cant find a record of Catherine's nor can I see her on the census. Where ever possible double check your info. According to the IGI these are children born to James Kiff & Catherine (there is no surname for Catherine so she may or maynot be yours) 1. CATHARINE KIFF - International Genealogical Index Gender: Female Christening: 25 MAR 1810 Saint Michael, Saint Albans, Hertford, England 2. GEORGE KIFF - International Genealogical Index Gender: Male Christening: 04 JUL 1819 Saint Michael, Saint Albans, Hertford, England 3. JOHN KIFF - International Genealogical Index Gender: Male Christening: 20 MAR 1803 Saint Michael, Saint Albans, Hertford, England 4. THOS. KIFF - International Genealogical Index Gender: Male Christening: 02 DEC 1804 Saint Michael, Saint Albans, Hertford, England 5. THOS. KIFF - International Genealogical Index Gender: Male Christening: 31 JAN 1808 Saint Michael, Saint Albans, Hertford, England 6. CAROLINE KIFF - International Genealogical Index Gender: Female Christening: 20 JUN 1824 Saint Michael, Saint Albans, Hertford, England 7. SUSAN KIFF - International Genealogical Index Gender: Female Christening: 17 MAY 1812 Saint Michael, Saint Albans, Hertford, England 8. JAMES KIFF - International Genealogical Index Gender: Male Christening: 18 AUG 1816 Saint Michael, Saint Albans, Hertford, England 9. WILLIAM KIFF - International Genealogical Index Gender: Male Christening: 20 SEP 1801 Saint Michael, Saint Albans, Hertford, England 10. STEPHEN KIFF - International Genealogical Index Gender: Male Christening: 24 MAR 1822 Saint Michael, Saint Albans, Hertford, England 11. ROBERT KIFF - International Genealogical Index Gender: Male Christening: 11 DEC 1814 Saint Michael, Saint Albans, Hertford, England 12. Was just googling and found this... http://www.kiff.net/ Don't know if it's at all useful? [obviously it might be - just re-read first posting!] Christine

Gerri If you're looking for it on a map or, even more critically, by computer, it's called Carpenders Park now (with a D not a T). - That presumes it wasn't just a typo (I make lots of those, myself!) Christine

Catherine Russel 1774-1881 Born in Kimpton, Hertford, Herts. Checked everywhere I can think of, she was married to a James Kiff on 18 Nov 1800, St Michales, St Albans, Herts Anyone know where I could look for her parents?
