Could someone please tell me how I could go about finding the name of my grandmother's sister. I have her brother and two sister's names and parents, but she was born after 1901 so cant get it from any of the usual places. Any ideas?

Do you know when abouts after 1901? Do you know where she would have been born? What were her parents names?

Hi Tanya The bmds are free to search on Ancestry at the moment. If she was born after 1911 her mum's maiden name will be indexed too. Heather

Thanks couldnt find anything on ancestry - I think the records are a bit sparse when you get into the 1900s? All born in St Pancras London Parents Richard Camp - 1868 Louisa Chapman - 1870 Siblings Ivy Camp - 1907 Richard Camp - 1899 Florence Camp - 1897

Have you tried freebmd? There are several births for your name registered inthe Pancras area...problem is knowing which are yours. Have you seen the England and Wales bmd index on Ancestry? It's to the right of the census records under More Collections. Heather

I know - its so annoying. My grandmother became mentally ill after the war and so I could never ask her. My dad has problems remembering my own name and is not very helpful when it comes to family research! Will try that now - thanks

I'm having the same problem between 1901 and 1911, lets hope the 1911 census will help. Good luck Heather

Heather Oh dear - I searched between 1902 and 1906 - is it a question of opening every record and scanning down the page for Camp born in St Pancras? Tanya When is the 1911 census - in 5 years time?!

You can do a search on freebmd for Camp births in Pancras ( assuming your family stayed there) but you won't know which are yours without buying the certificates unless you already know the names you are looking for. The 1911 census should be released in 2012 but there are rumours that it's in poor condition. Heather
