I think ZILPAH was a biblical name, I am probably wrong though, lol. :0) Joan

It is a name...just very unusual-I have spotted it used elsewhere-it isnt a misspelling

ive checked a few and the transcriber when unsure has considered both zilpah and tilpah

Tilpah is a bibilical name variant of Zilpah and I think is Hebrew Gwen at coggie corner

Thanks everyone, sorry for the delay in getting back but I have been hunting. Found her spelt with the Z in 1841 & 1851. It was actually her brother Charles I wanted as he is my G G Grandfather, found them together in 1841 but she is a servant in 1851. I will make reference to the origins of her name in my notes on FTM. It will perhaps be interesting to see if she is named after anyone in the family. Best Wishes Mary
