What do you folks reckon to this - 2 households in the same address -the first in 1881,the second in 1891-both families are at 14 Cockerel Road Kirkdale Liverpool.Bear in mind that the couple in the census of 1891 got married in 1883 (betwen censi). |

Hi If you look at the 1881 image, there's nothing to suggest that the O isn't just the initial of the father's second given name. Edith E should have an age - she was 6 months, by the look of it. I had wondered whether she might have been Ellen, but probably not, in that case! Christine |

I dont know if this helps, but several times, I`ve found stepchildren given the surname of the stepfather on the census even though there was no formal adoption. Sometimes they kept the name others reverted to their real surname in adulthood. Sue |

AAhhh I see,so that proves that its just a coincidence or maybe the 2 henrys are cousins etc. What is bizarre is that I cant find the liverpool henry in 1881-he should be about 31 yrs old. The birming ham one isnt mine ...my family is the second family with margaret ellen as wife. |

Still quite a coincidence that such a similar lot of names ended up at the same address when they were not the same family! Christine |

so it looks like margaret had a previous marriage maybe- she seems to be at home aged 20....the marriage corresponds with the second child there-hannah . |
