Sue Yep thats them, the one that is Joh n King is in fact Silvanus King Fossett and Agnes is actually Jane his wife, heavens knows why they used the middle name as surname and changed their first names. |

Glitter is a possibility as can't find one for her and she was the first born, nothing surprises me with my gt gt grandparents anymore. He worked on the river as a Watchman so maybe they travelled around hence they were born all over the place. Will keep the reference and order the cert when I have a few more funds. thanks for your help. |

John King/Silvanus Fossett is born in 1837. Do you have a birth certificate or baptism for him? If he uses two different names like that, he may have been illegitimate, or brought up by a step-dad. |

Have baptism for him. His real name is Silvanus King Fossett King being his mothers maiden name. All his brothers had the middle name King. Maybe he was the disappointment of the family. Was the youngest and his eldest brother was in the Admitalty his oldest sister married a Naval doctor. His father was in the Admiralty as well. I have the marriage allegation of his parents so thats how I know the maiden name and have all his siblings baptism dates as well. Adds a bit of mystery though. |

It's irresistable - paraphrasing Mr Wilde... To lose one Fossett may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose both looks like carelessness. ;-) Christine |
