Hi elaine I found them on the 1901 census at St George in the East with 5 children born between abt1887-1900. been trying to trace them back. Henry was on his own and lodging in 1881. e,lizabeth was born 1862 and Henry 1851.

Have tried Free BMD and there are quite a few marriages for a Henry Johnson to a Elizabeth in that area during that time scale. You will need the birth certificate of a child to get her maiden name before you can be sure you have the right one. Have you found them on a census - if so give us some details.

Did they have any children. If so the birth certificate of one of the children would give the mother´s maiden name - which would help in tracing the marriage.
