Thankyou everyone for your suggestion. I am going to go back on ancestry and see if I can find any of the names you have suggested. Heather you have just reminded me of something from when I was a child. Family members of mine used to call another family member Peders. He was too young to be this Peter(?) but he was related to him some how. Umm interesting Thankyou Jayne

Looks like Peder to me! (Peter with an Irish accent? or is that an Irish name in itself?) A Peter right age appears on a couple of later census aswell. Doesnt Liverpool come under Manchester at that time - or am I totally wrong? I mean, for the birth?

The 't' in the middle looks the same as in Kate and I think there's a faint loop around the first letter so I think it is P. Heather

Actually Jayne, ignore my previous reply! I've just gone back and looked again, fiddled around a bit with magnifying and enlarging etc and I can just - very faintly - see the loop of the first 'P'. The middle letter is definitely a 'T' as that matches the 'T' in Kate. So I'm still going with Peter! Mandy

Looks like its possibly Tiler, but not sure.

Hi Jayne This is an odd one! I'll be interested to see other people's replies. I magnified etc, and the first letter is definitely a 'T', the same as for Teresa on the line above. However, the rest of the letters do look like _eter, so I can see how it's been transcribed as Peter. I think the enumerator just made a mistake, but that's only my opinion - maybe someone else will have a better explanation. Mandy

I have found the Kennedy family on the 1871c. The name of the youngest child (3rd line down aged 2) has been transcribed as Peter but to me it doesnt look like Peter. I have searched on births for this Peter but cant find him. Could someone please take a look and see what they think the name is. Civil Par - Liverpool Ecc Par - St Mark Reg Dis - Liverpool RG10/3777 ED No - 10 Folio - 155 Pg - 67 Sche No - 294 GSU No - 841890 Any suggestions would be appreciated. I will just go and dish the tea up and be back in 10 mins Thankyou Jayne
