I'm having trouble finding birthdate of my GrandFather. have marriage certificate for grandparents. Age is not clear could be anything from 28 - 58 have tried a range of birthdates but as i'm not sure his birthplace? Wincanton area or Bristol but only get hits on America when I put his name in one in London. Ihave been told he died when my dad was 15 so that puts his death around 1940. his only surviving son is now in his 80's remebers nothing or is unwilling to tell me! what do I do? Thanks Sally My Grandfathers name is Francis William Bertram Parsons He Married my grandmother In Dec 1919. in Lydd kent my Dad was born in 1927 so would have been 15 in 1942.

Hi Sally I have looked on the Death records for 1941 through to 1943, for either Francis W B Parsons or William F B Parsons. The nearest I have found is Francis W 68, Weston, 5c 1055, 3rd Quarter 1941. Unfortunately I have to go to work, but will look later if you haven't found anything Regards Linda

Message received from Sally: fathers name given as john(wilfred or alfred)Parsons occupation civil servant. Francis is Staff Sreg Acct(at Marriage). At time of death I believe him to have been a journalist! Thanks for any help Sally
