Highlight what you want - using the mouse Go to top left of page and click edit, then choose copy and click. Then go to where you want to put the info, click to put your cursor on the page. Then go again to edit and click on paste. Easy peesy!! (I hope) Dea x

Hi Gill, Go to the section that you want to cut (or copy to somewhere else) and highlight it by placing the cursor at the start of it then holding the left mouse button down and dragging the cursor to the end of the section you want. The words will all get highlighted as you move down the page. Release the left mouse button. Go to the tool bar at the top and click on edit, then select cut (or copy) Now go to where you want to paste that section and position the cursor there. Go back to the tool bar: edit, then paste and it should appear! Janice

A couple more tips: to highlight a single word, just double-click on it with your mouse. To cut and paste much more quickly, using your keyboard instead of your mouse, highlight the text as the others have explained, then: - to copy text, press the CTRL key, keep it pressed down, and press C, then release both keys. - to paste the text you've just copied, click with your mouse at the point where you want to insert the copied text, press the CTRL key, keep it pressed down, press V, then release both keys. To delete text, highlight it, then: - press the CTRL key, keep it pressed down, press X, then release both keys.

Following on from the double-click to highlight a word... In some software a triple-click gets a whole line highlighted - and four or three (can't remember which - thought four, but it seems a lot) can get a paragraph. Basically the multiple clicks toggle through the options. using key-strokes... Control (or on Apple Macs, Command) + A selects everything - think ''A for All''. Control + C = copy Control + X (like scissors) = cut Control + V (like arrow pointing down) = paste Christine

Gill, If you are sending an Ancestry image - there is another way. I think it is top right of the image - It says save image ??? Save it to 'my pictures' or something, then You can write an e-mail and at the top - click on insert - File - my pictures - find what you have named, then click 'attach' This will send the image. Let me know if I have not made that clear !! Dea x P.S. - I will be away for a week as from tomorrow but I will catch up when I come back. - send a pm if you still need help.!! Dea x
