Michaela - maybe we should both upload our doggy gedcoms to GR, to see if we get any ''hot matches'' LOL! Paula - let's see, under ''relationship with father'' on FTM it has: Natural, Adopted, Foster, Step, etc. We need them to add an ''Owned by''!! |

It's definitely not NUTS!.......Don't many of us incorporate info about our homes, hobbies, etc etc etc into our trees?? Strangely enough, I have a photo of my great-grandfather's dog on his file with said dog's name and a story about him, but have never thought to do the same regarding our Heidi, who we lost 12 years ago (gosh, is it that long?)....... **Going off to rectify the situation immediately**! Good morning I have enjoyed reading all your replies .I never thought of adding Holly to the family tree maker and printing it out what a good idea all my records for Holly are hand written and Photos stuck with Glue .Hollys family tree only goes back to her parents with her brothers and sisters included .But what a nice momento a history of the family pet that other generations of the humankind will may be get to read one day and share the joy that our pets have brought us and what an insight they will get about us as a family and a lover of our pets as well as the rest of the aspects of our lives . Hi All, None of you are nuts - the fact that my german shepherd 'Kerry' could trace her ancestors back 10 generations and I couldn't spurred me on in my family hunt - so she (and my other 'kids') are on my tree. Hadnt thought about doing her her own tree with FTM - thanks for that idea. Michaela |

My 4-month old white german shepherd has her own family tree - it goes back 5 generations (6 on some lines), and I've got pictures back as far as her gt-grandparents. So I entered it all on FamilyTreeMaker and printed it out, complete with pictures! Now how sad does that make me??? Maybe I should send the Gedcom to the IGI, or even upload it to GR! |

Oh I know what you mean Diana. I have just lost one of my dogs :-( who was aged 7 & also called Holly. I was talking to my kids only yesterday & said that I will be adding her & my other dog to our tree with some written info for future generations. I do not care if people think I am nuts, dogs are a huge part of our life & in my opinion nuch more loyal than most humans! |

Hi My dog got sick over the weekend and i was so distraught if any thing had happened to her I would have been so deverstated . I have recorded a lot about Holly she has brought so much joy and laughter to my self and my family . That even before she got sick i wanted her to be part of my family tree. She has been a part of my family for 7 years and we love her so very much . How do you all consider your extra family members and do they get a metion on your trees and how do you incorperate it into your trees ..I have a section in a fiolder dedicated to holly with photos dates and etc even pictures of her parents . .
