Is the backup not on another file on your PC? Go to windows explorer and look for all FTM files and see if anything is there resembling the backup you did! xx

Linda dont worry I am sure you will recover all and laugh about this sometime, just tell everybody you are unavailable for the near future, get yourself a Tray with lots of goodies to get you through the day , and stay on here till it is all done, It is surprising how quickly you can recover the data.Good luck Val

Oh sweetie..... have you checked if the backup is stored elsewhere on your PC? FTM normally backs up automatically when you close it down!

hi Linda what a pity you did not delete your tree on here after you had done that, I deleted my FTM programme by accident dont aks me how and lost all 300 odd names and as I had not updated the facts on here too I am still adding them , I almost cried when it happened but I am determined to carry on, good luck dont let this beat you!!!!!

I decided to transfer the info from my tree on here onto a Paf file from LDS. I just wanted to leave rellies names and dobs on here so that I could 'share my tree' without giving out too much private information. I spent ages last night doing it all, Today I opened my file to find that the last back up I did didn't work!. I've lost the info for about 60 rellies as I had deleted it from my tree on here. feel like crying!! Linda x
