I wonder if anyone can offer any suggestions. I am trying to trace the Slee family in 1901 census but they seem to have dissappeared. They are listed in 1891 Wales census, father Richard (born c.864, Swansea), mother Sarah Ann (bn c.1864. Swansea), 4 children Florence (bn c.1884, Swansea), Lillian, (bn c.1885, Swansea) Madeline (bn c. 1887, Swansea) and Edith (bn c. 1889). I know Lillian married a Samuel Dardecker and their first child was born in Swansea in 1905....so where is she in 1901?!!! Any assistance gratefully received as its really starting to drive me mad...I'm kind of assuming they wouldn't have emigrated if Lilian married in Swansea 1904. K

Can't find the blighters, but this might make you smile - my cousin married a Richard Slee. When their daughter was younger she said 'Mummy, why does everyone hate us?' so my cousin asked what she meant. She'd heard the radio newsreader announce a government crackdown on sleaze!!!

I have tried the 1901 just searching for Slee born in Wales and can't get any results at all.Only for English born and no near matches for names and dates. I think this one is probably going to be mistranscribed,if they were still around. Glen

Sorry did dissappear then - posted message last thing before heading away for the weekend! Thank you all so much. Crikey you lot are good - Margaret will reply to your message - I am pretty sure that is them mistranscribed in the 1901 census. Thank you also for the other replies and info from Jeanette and Glitterbaby - it really has been driving me insane trying to find more information and you all found it in about 20mins which puts my detective skills to shame! Thanks again I
