I have just joined Ancestry through lostcousins at the reduced rate and after 5 minutes it's worth every penny I have spent. Anybody who is wondering if its worth it YES. I have spent the odd £5 here and there on the cencus sites and wish I had gone straight to the yearly membership. I can search away for a year now.... What a sad life I lead !

I couldn't agree more, Tracy. Not about the sad life, I hasten to add, lol. Heather

It's a great site, well worth the money i agree--but don't you think it's a bit cheaky of them wanting all that extra dosh to have a peep at the American listings? !!!

I'm back to the mid 1800's and my family haven't left Whitby!. So I can't see them being as adventurous as America. I don't think i'll be missing anything there lol. Tracy

Carole, I know what you mean, it does seem cheeky, but then I think well I have so many printouts from the census, if I had to pay £1 each time I've more than covered my membership costs(dread to think how much I would have paid at a £1 a time actually!!). So to look at it like that (and I'm sure like certificates, if I were to purchase the census from other places it would cost far more) to pay more for more census fom America doesn't seem quite so bad. Hope I've not made that too long winded and you can understand what I've written - always waffling me!!! LOL Snowdrops

A quid a week - really think about it - thats what 2 twirls or 3 packets of crisps - cor , its a bargain and half I reckon.

I know what you mean, just a little bit frustrating when you're running short before payday and have a lead that eeds the American connection-I paid almost £5 for a 3 day look up, which I suppose isn't too bad, it's just knowing which listing to look at and having the time to fiddle around looking at the categories!! lol Carol
