It's just that one of the names hasn't been transcribed yet. Kath. x

Thanks Kathleen, I thought that may be it but... Do you know how BMD has arranged its work? I'm doing some marriages for them 1876 at the moment - I thought 1842 would have been finished? Sarah :-)

Sarah you can search the beta records on Ancestry if you have an Idea of the missing mans name. Georgina.

Sorry Sarah, I haven't a clue how they organise the transcribing, but it is quite common to see an odd number of people on the page. Kath. x

In this case , its one of the men(your man?) sometimes you'll gt an odd number where a name has been very difficult to transcribe and rthe trancsriber will have two goes at at it like, Rose Aling < makes more sense Rose Allng < probaly looks more like this on the image

Thanks Georgina, I've got my man but he married (one of the 4 women) in 1942 & she was dead by 1851 (though had a child in 1850). I guess I'll have to go through the death regs to find one of the 4 women 1850-51 & try to take it from there. I was just curious to know why there were only 7 on the page. Sarah :-)

Sarah you could always look on the IGI & see if the childs birth is on there it will name both parents. Georgina.

Thanks Jess, I've just had another look, but the names are all VERY different - not just 2 goes at the same thing. Never mind Sarah :-)

Good idea Georgina - unfortunately it's Norwich (have you seen the number of churches there?) and loads of the records don't go that far - I've only looked for the marriage so far - now I'll try the birth... Sarah (with a busy day ahead of her) :-)

OH WOW Just had another look for Christenings - they ARE on there and so I found the wife's name AND 2 other children that i didn't know about (probably died before 1851) It's my lucky day Sarah :-)))
