why cant i find her ??

i had a copy of a print out from 1837 for the marriage of henrietta barlow to james o'neill in dec quarter 1937 in leigh lancashire . my husband borrowed it to show someone and now he cant find it i have no credits left for 1837 and cant find the marriage on free bmd! why is that ? does thieir records not go up to 1937 ? love linda x

Ancestry shows the marriage as occurring in Leigh Vol 8c page 470 Bridget

Hi Lindy Free bmd goes up to about 1910,from 1901 to 1915 is only about 3% complete. I will have a look on ancestry,the bmd index is free there by the way,the beta index can be accessed by anyone. Glen

Go to www*ancestry*co*uk (use dots in place of *) On home page scroll down and you will see 1837/1984 BMD index beta.Click on that to search the images. Glen

I think marriages for Leigh for this period are also on the Lancs BMD site http://www.lancashirebmd.org.uk doesn't have the GRO reference though
