Hi, I am trying to track down more information about David Stevens (born approx 1800) and his children (so far only aware of John Stevens). He appeared as follows in the 1871, 1861 and 1851 census 1871 census David Stevens, 1800, Father, Brighton, Sussex John Stevens, 1827, Head, Brighton, Sussex Elizabeth Stevens, 1859, Daughter, Ibstock, Leicestershire John Stevens, 1860, Son, Ibstock, Leicestershire Harry Stevens, 1861,Son, Ibstock, Leicestershire Frederick Stevens, 1863, Son, Whitwick, Leicestershire Jane Stevens, 1867, Daughter, Whitwick, Leicestershire 1861 census David Stevens, 1799, Head, Brighton, Sussex Elizabeth Stevens, 1802, Wife, Rochester, Kent 1851 census Fanny Chandler, 1818, Niece, Brighton, Sussex David Stevens, 1799, Head, Brighton, Sussex Elizabeth Stevens, 1803, Wife, Rochester, Kent However I cannot find him on the 1841 census. I think this would help me as I assume as this time his children would be living with him. Also if anyone could help me determine his wife’s maiden name I would appreciate it. Thanks Helen |

Helen Please add your original message to this thread which will keep the paragraphs and make it easier to read. Maiden names will be in marriage registers and on the birth certs of children born after 1 Jul 1837. |

I'm a bit busy running an entertainment this afternoon or I'd offer to help - but then I realised that this is a ''Helen only'' thread... ;-) Christine PS will delete this intrusive post later. |

Helen, As you asked me the same thing on my thread, I'll post my reply on here too so that others don't repeat the search I have already done for you earlier today then maybe they can search other avenues HELEN 1841 Have searched all variables of Stevens but cannot find them anywhere, sorry.....ste* sto* etc and just David born Sussex . searched 1795-1810 (ages were rounded down to nearest 5 years so an 1802 birth would be given as 1806ish for example.
