I be grateful if you could consider the following : I have found Thomas Gee in the following census. 1871 born 1848 Wisbech – living in Wisbech with wife Emma 1881 born 1847 Cambridgeshire – living in Bermondsey with wife Mary A 1891 born 1848 Wisbech – living in Stockton-on-Tees with wife Elizabeth Each time the occupation is listed as a lath render. But, Do you think it is the same person ? Thanks Liz

Regarding Thomas and Emma Marriage: Thomas Gee and Emma Digby Sept 1868 Wisbach On the 1881, Emma Gee is living with her parents the Digby's in Walsoken. Has a daughter Nellie A, 8 months. Thomas is not with them. Emma dies 1888, age 41 in Wisbach. Nellie Amelia died 1884, age 4 in Wisbach. On the 1891 Thomas is with Elizabeth There's a marriage record for Thomas Gee and Elizabeth Woodward June Qtr 1889 in Wisbach. Rose

Thank you all for your comments. Emma Digby and Elizabeth Woodward were his 1st & 3rd wives. I believe Mary Ann Newman nee Stocking to be his 2nd wife, although I cannot find their marriage.They did have a child together. I cannot find any other person, same name, age etc. so this must be the same person. Regards Liz

It might be the same Thomas on the 1881 but I can find no trace of those Gee children on the 1891. There are also no birth records for any of them under the surname Gee. There is the possibility that Thomas was lodging and someone assumed he was the husband and father of the rest of the household. Rose

Rose, In 1891, living at the same address is maryann smith, with most of the gee children named as newman. I have assumed they took the Gee name for 1881, but were actually Thomas Gee’s stepchildren, apart from Alfred Gee, whose birth cert I have. Thomas Gee is named as his father. Regards Liz
