Hi I'm looking for the marriage of William Barker to Angelinah ?? Their first child Eliza was born in 1829 and I think they might have got married before the birth. Can anyone suggest where I might find details about their marriage? Kimberley :o)

You need to know roughly where they got married and find the parish record. If you post details some one may be able to help. Marriage registration did not start to 1837.

Hi Annie Thank you :o) I think they may have been married in one of their home towns/parish: Angelinah was born in Aughton, Lincolnshire and William Barker in Kirby Moorside, Yorkshire. I just don't know where to start looking! Any pointers in the right direction would be appreciated :o)

If you go to rootschat which is free to join and go to the county you are interested in you will find a list of local resources and possibly a list of people willing to do look ups.

Annie thanks for the tip I will go have a look at that site. Heather I didn't think about that! Luckly there are a few children born after 1837 so I'll get one of their birth certs.

Hi Kimberley, On the LDS website there are two entries for this William - though both are submitted by members so should be treated as a clue of where to look rather than fact! I repeat - this is not directly extracted from parish records!! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WILLIAM BARKER Male Family -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Event(s): Birth: Christening: Death: Burial: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marriages: Spouse: ANGELINAH MOFITT Family Marriage: 24 AUG 1828 St Marys, Kingston Upon Hull, Yorkshire, England -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Messages: Form submitted by a member of the LDS Church. The form lists the submitter's name and address and may include source information. The address may be outdated. Details vary. To find the form, you must know the batch and sheet number. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Source Information: Batch Number: 7910830 Sheet: 71 Source Call No.: 1260524 Type: Film and this one - William Barker Male Family -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Event(s): Birth: About 1802 Kirbymoorside, , Yorkshire, England Christening: Death: 02 FEB 1846 Burial: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marriages: Spouse: Angelina Family Marriage: About 1828 Hull,East, , Yorkshire, England -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Messages: Record submitted after 1991 by a member of the LDS Church. No additional information is available. Ancestral File may list the same family and the submitter. Hope this helps :-) Jenny

Had a look on Boyd's marriage index for you but can't find them in that to confirm this sorry. At least it gives you somewhere to look, where were the children born? Would it fit with their births? Good luck, Jenny :-)

Jenny - the death certainly fits in. The last child was born the year before in 1845 (I think i put 1847 above) and on the 1851 census Angelinah is the head of the family. All children were born in Hull. I will try and check the info and see if I can find any records but I think Moffit might be the way forward. Thank you so much :o)
