Why can't I find him?...SOLVED Thankyou lady & Gen

I can find this relative on the census' But simply can not find his Birth registration, which I need in order to discover his father! I know my eyes are bad but I have checked and re~checked and would appreciate another pair of eyes to look if possible please. He is George T Chaney Born 1843 In Staplehurst in Kent. On two out of the three census' I have found him his birth year is given as about 1843........on one it's 1841. I have searched from 1835 to 1850, several times but I am still not turning him up...........? I would really appreciate any help offered, Thankyou. Jen |

Maybe he wasn't registered. It wasn't made compulsory until 1875. Have you tried finding a baptism record, which should give his father's name? His father's name and occupation would also be on his marriage cert. And if he was born 1840s he should be on 1851 census with his dad. nell |

Hi Helen, Yes I found him on 1851 with his mother, sister and two brothers, NO father, must have died before then. I will go with the marriage ref.........hopefully, I should discover that. Thanks for the advice and help Helen. Jen |

Alter ego Thankyou so much, I was off looking at the marriages and just popped back here to double check some detail, and now you have supplied one of the only two pieces of evidence I could have discovered more info from.
