I am looking for a list residents at Edmund st in Stoke on Trent in 1901, 1891. Is there any way I can use the address to look up people? Zoe

The official 1901 site has an address search. I used to be able to find an address using ancestry's 1881 and then find the street on later censuses by searching names of families that didnt move. (ANCESTRY 1881 ADDRESS IS B****ED UP AT MO!!!!) For me anyway? Suzanne

You could look at the street section in trade directories-there are some online at www(.)historicaldirectories(.)org or if you live near the place, your local archives should have a street index so you can look at the census on microfilm or enter the piece number on Ancestry

In 1881, Caroline Chorlton aged 56 born Hanley was living at number1 Edmund Street. If you find her on familysearch or Ancestry 1881 you'll be able to view neighbours in the street and see if any are still around in 1891 and 1901. Heather
