You don't have to put in date of birth, just year of birth. And you can tick a box to say it is approximate. So just put in a rough guess and tick the box! Kate.

Hi Christine, please don't put a false date put '0000' if you have to, If you put a false date, you will forget whch ones are phoney and which ones are correct, you will spend twice as much time re checking all your data. Trust me I've done it !!! (on my own family tree programme not GR) Ruth.

I've put zero's on my living family members for their birth years.

Quite a few of mine added on GR only have a year of birth. It isn't mandatory to enter full date of birth. I only have my tree on this site. Ann

To enter manually you need to enter a year of birth (not an exact date, which comes in the 'Extra details' page). If you upload a gedcom the year of birth may not upload.

The ones without DoB have been uploaded from an externally held GenDocs file. GR is set up not to accept a manual entry without a DoB - but you can put in any 4-digit number (I think)... Christine

Put a false D.O.B. no one will be any wiser!

I can not seem to be able to add someone on my tree, without putting down their date of birth. It must be able to be done as I have seen names on here without d.o.b. Please someone out there help as this person does not want there d.o.b. on here. Many thanks Chris.
