I have recently found out that my late father served in North Africa and Italy during the Second World War, with the above regiment. I have his cap badge, and war medals, and have found details of the regiment on the Internet Where can I go to find out if there are other men from that regiment who are still alive, and who may be able to give me an idea of what life was like for him during the war years?

Or you could try forces reunited or indeed google for his regiment to see if they have their own site for tracing old comrades. Why dont you think about buying his service record? Im in the process of getting my dads from the RAF now.

Joy, I will look into that site, thanks Heather, I have been reading Ang Norfolk Girl's thread about service records, and think I may explore that route It was totally by accident I found out Dad's regiment. I was talking to a friend on line at the weekend and said I had my Dad's cap badge, he told me the regiment, so I am now hunting round for anything I can find Have been so busy researching Victorian rellies I have never really thought to look into Dad's war service till now Dee

Write to the regimental museum. You should get the details of the Death and Glory Boys from Google -They will put you in touch with the Old Comrades Association for possible contact with surviving soldiers of WW2. :-) Keith
