I have my mothers birth certificate Joan Ewin b1923 Kensington her mother was Louisa Lottie Ewin living at Fifth ave Paddington. There is no fathers name, the informant was L Commings Occupier of 12 Exmoor St the same address as mothers birth. How can I find details about Louisa I don't know her age or parents? Can anyone help? Thanks Sue

Well she has to be of childbearing age. You could look for her birth cert on Freebmd as she would (hopefully) have been born before 1910. Paddington electoral rolls are at the Westminster Archives so you could check to see who was living at that address and for how long (though Louisa and indeed the mysterious L. Commings may not have been eligible to vote in 1923). nell

thanks Nell, I have been to Exmoor st and there isnt a number 12 there,just the hospital now. All the odd numbers are there, so that didnt really help. Sue

The only one I can see on 1901 Is 40 which is quite old considering she had 2 other children as well. Sue

Do the other 2 also have the surname Ewin? Elly
